It's normally quite busy without ever being packed and is significantly cheaper than other less-well furnished snooker clubs around the area. They charge per amount played so you dont have to worry about ticking over on to the next hour and the drinks and snacks are very reasonably priced. There is sufficient parking although because it's near traffic lights it can be difficult to get on to the front because of the queues.

Enter through the front door and you find yourself in a pretty small bar. The apparent lack of size probably isn't helped by the pillars and different seating areas, but it's a lot nicer to walk into than a vast empty room. The bar is very small and drinks-wise serves the usual array of keg stuff and one cask (Banks Bitter - £2.10 a pint). There's also a coffee machine and they do a lot of food. It's the kind of place I'd take my girlfriend or family for Sunday lunch rather than go on the lash at. The girl serving behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming. There's background music but you could hold a conversation with a complete stranger quite easily. I know because whilst sat at the bar, a complete stranger lady walked in, ordered a sandwich to take out, asked if I wanted a drink and struck up a conversation. Just my kind of atmosphere!

However, I was made to feel welcome and sat reading the paper and listening to a conversation about a poor bloke who'd fell down a hole a few weeks previously. It's a pretty small but well kept bar which doesn't serve any cask ale but has smoothpour bitter and mild. There are freshly-made cheese and onion and ham baps sat clingfilmed behind the bar, which only cost a quid. I had a cheese and onion (spring onion) one and it was delicious. There's also a few benches out the back for your beer garden/smoking area, a pool table and a big tele. All in all, a decent local boozer.

Small beer garden, feels a little compact. The problem with these bars is that i never seem to feel welcome, almost like they don't want to serve me but this place isn't too bad. They do those little sandwiches in cellophane and they always taste fresh after a few beers.
