I previously went to another local vet and was charged almost double for the same services/preventative care and I was not able to order the type of flea and heartworm prevention I preferred (they only offered prescriptions in hospital- NO online orders). I will say the visit was fast and I felt they valued their clients time. My only negative I experienced (not the clinics fault-just sharing my full experience) was with their online pharmacy Koala. They messed up my order so my dog had been waiting for his medication over two weeks now. AGAIN not the clinics fault. Just beware to stay on top of this pharmacy for prescriptions if using them. Make sure you order way ahead of time or be aware of potential longer wait times of receiving the medication your pet may need!

I've had a great experience with them and the staff is very friendly…read more Dr. Wade has helped my elderly dog in ways no other vet has, and truly seems to listen when you express concerns. I did call once and was denied an appointment, but that was because the young lady failed to realize I was an existing customer. Once she did, she apologized profusely. Just be mindful that in WF you must have established care in order to be seen by a vet, apparently even in emergencies. With that said, I'm so glad this place was recommended to me and plan to stay with them for as long as we're stationed here. For those living on base (we don't) this is incredibly convenient in terms of location, too.

After surgery performed by Dr. Wade, we were told there was nothing found and the real issue is a parasite. A lot of medication was given to our dog, which ultimately made him to get worse. The surgery itself was poorly done, and the diagnosis he provided was not what was actually wrong. Our pet's condition continued to decline, despite multiple visits and reassurances that everything was fine. We spent thousands of dollars on care that did nothing to help and ultimately made things worse. When another hospital -- Colonial Park Veterinary Hospital -- evaluated our pet, they immediately found the real problem and provided the treatment that saved his life. Shortly after we raised our concerns, we received a letter from Dr. Wade stating our pet was no longer welcome at A Caring Heart. Given the outcome, that decision speaks for itself. While most of the staff were kind & helpful (they just follow orders from Dr Wade), Dr. Wade's surgery, diagnosis, and overall care fell far below an acceptable standard. I would strongly recommend seeking veterinary care elsewhere.

Took our three pups to get their nails trimmed while here on vacation. Two of them had bleeding…read moretoes, One was bleeding so bad it was everywhere. I had to hold the dogs which I've never had to before. The tech would do it for us at other offices. He then charged $25 per dog, which I normally pay up to $15 per dog. I did half the work, got scratched and blood on my clothes. He was grumpy and the facility was filthy. Not happy.

Today our family experienced one of the hardest moments a pet owner can face. Our dog Reese was…read morecritically ill and suffering, and we came to Colonial Park Veterinary Clinic for help. We arrived at 12:30 pm during posted business hours (they were open until 4 pm). There were only two people in the waiting room. I explained that Reese was suffering and that this was urgent. I also clarified that while Reese herself was a new patient, I was not a new client and have spent thousands of dollars at this clinic over the years. Despite this, we were turned away. When families walk into a veterinary clinic with a suffering pet, they are already in distress and hoping for compassion and help. Being turned away in that moment was heartbreaking. Thankfully another veterinarian stepped in immediately and did everything possible to try to save Reese. We will always be grateful for the compassion that was shown to our family there. I hope the clinic reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future. Pets are family members, and moments like these are when compassion matters most. Compassion should never depend on whether a pet is already in your system.
