The other 10% were the expensive ones and after visting them I realised that they weren't worth the hype at all. When I was almost forgetting about the course, I saw Abstract Source's website and I could not believe that the guy that had produced all those amazing songs was giving lessons, specially with that price. I decided to meet him and I saw that I had finally found the place to be. It was definitely the best choice. I learnt so much things about music production in so little time. The classes were so much fun and full of information. It was a great experience learning and sharing the same passion which is electronic music. Now after finishing this course I can say that I made a really good friend and hopefully a future music partner!!

I was sold my first electric guitar here, took it back because I had a few problems. The technician…read moresaw it and said straight away the neck is defected and will need changing, told me to come back and he will see what he can do. On returning he completely forgot what he first said to me about the neck, instead told me it's absolutely fine, I just need to adjust the bridge to deal with the dead notes past 15 and said that all guitars fall out of tune. Took my guitar to another technician this week, he said the neck is completely done and it should have never been sold. Im out of my 1 year warranty now, so will have to go into my own pocket to buy a new neck. But be very careful with this company, especially the London branch. Don't trust them to give you sound advice if you're new, they might try and sell you defective instruments.

I really love this shop, more to look at guitars than purchase guitars. There are some beautiful, rare fenders with big price tags. The shop definitely specialises in high quality instruments. The only problem, which may not be a problem for everyone, is the fact that they don't sell acoustic guitars. The staff are great, and don't mind if you just want to browse.

I was looking for a trumpet mute for a Christmas present, and after trying a few other stores, I found it at Macari's. It's the little things like that which separate Macari's from the other stores.

The experience has been one of encouragement and (much needed) patience from Richard who is a skilled musician and innovative teacher. What has been helpful is that the lessons have been adapted to my needs and interests backed up by resources and support online which has been really supportive. It has been a chance to learn about music and play with others on courses and even to have the chance to play with his blues band! Let's start with the fact that his playing ability across a plethora of styles is a given. That just leaves teaching ability and depth of musical references. Or does it? With respect to musical reference points it was immediately clear that Richard knows them all. From Albert (King) to (Frank) Zappa, Rich can reel of their back story, their influences and their signature techniques. This in itself is as much an inspiration to continue learning as any hands on playing session. Teaching ability? Patience in droves, the ability to make sense of a half grasped concept and complete it, patience, effortlessly adept at presenting the same information in myriad ways until it sticks and he'll work on your lesson long after it's over and did I mention patience? That's it. No it's not. What REALLY separates Richard from those who wish they were Richard is his drive to create a community of musicians far outside the bedroom stadium that most of us play. You want to be part of a band? He's organised plenty and he'll help you too. Bit of busking at Christmas? Sign up soon because places are going fast! A gig in front of Royalty? Been done. A guitar based holiday in France...nice.
