This is a gem of a restaurant. Still have not figured out the connection to Duke Kamehamema but the theme is so well executed in the decor it doesn't really matter. Friendly and relaxed place that has the best ceviche. We loved it so much that we went twice during our one week visit. Everything was delicious. They start you with a complimentary olive hummus. Overall a great meal, we were left feeling slightly peckish but getting three tapas plates as dinner that could be slightly expected. Service wasn't the quickest ever but that tends to be the way things go around Spain and they were patient with our lack of Spanish skills! Price to value of good ratio was great, but price to amount of food was slightly low- tapas are 'small bites' but these felt quite little. Dukes white wine- 'an above average white, palatable' (from someone who does not yet have an advanced oenophile's palette) Duke spritz- beautifully balanced and not super apérol forwards, lots of cucumber flavor, grapefruit is light Olive dip with chips and carrots- an appetizer on the house that was thoroughly enjoyed. The dip wasn't too salty and the chips were to die for. They must've been homemade and were just the right salt and crisp "Hutong" confit Peking duck rolls- not exactly what we expecting when hearing the term 'Peking duck'. It was a very tender meat inside somewhat of an egg roll vibe wrapper. Delish hoisin/ barbecue vibe dip and another great homemade-tasting cracker. Lebanese Lamb kebabs - had great flavor, but a little salty for me, dried spices on top didn't give a super pleasant mouth feel. Tzatziki sauce was great, meat had a gamey flavor and pita paired nicely. Mexican pulled beef Tacos-We were warned the sauce was slightly spicy, but met with inconsistency in the heat- it made your tongue slightly numb with every bite but one would light your mouth ablaze and the next wouldn't. Cabbage on the base was great and this meat was extremely tender as well. Final chocolate Little note of hazelnut, very rich but just a bite made it great. After all that salty food I was craving a gelato to top off the night but felt content after this bite, the perfect end to the meal. read more

Hands down the best tapas we had during our stay in Mallorca. For example, the sweet potato - Patas Bravas were absolutely amazing. While we were enjoying our food we reserved a table for the day after to come back to try even more dishes! The staff were very friendly and service minded. We stopped by Duke for a quick bite on our way back to the old city from Bellver Castle. It's got a very Hawaiian-themed atmosphere to it (apparently the owner is from there), so it has a bit of an American feel to the setup, although the communal tables and small bar make it feel like many other tapas places in Palma. As we did not have a reservation for the middle of the afternoon (folks eat lunch here late!), we ended up in the back, which was definitely colder despite being covered, and a bit neglected as well (it took us a little while to get our order in, and others left after losing patience quite quickly). Once we got our food in, the glass of wine and our orders came out in short order, so there was no issue after that. At lunchtime, you have a choice of the set menu (a starter and entree for 17 euros), or you can order from a limited a la carte menu. We stuck with the latter and got the lamb kebabs and the Mexican fish tacos. Both were quite solid; the kebabs weren't as dry as I had them elsewhere, and I did enjoy the dipping sauce they came in - although the quinoa was a bit of a mystery as to why it was there...hard to pick up the quinoa with a skewer. As for the tacos, they too were flavorful, although I had forgotten they were actually fish-based until now, which suggests that the main item in the taco isn't as prominent. I did appreciate the large slice of avocado in it, and while the tortilla it was served in was kind of stale, the slightly fiery dipping sauce made up for it by adding in a bit of moisture. The menu is a bit all over the place in terms of what is offered, and while I did come away from our small lunch pretty satisfied, I didn't come away thinking this was absolutely a place that I needed to come back and try. You'll get good food, if not always the most faithful rendition of what is served in other parts of the world, and for those who are homesick for the U.S. (or Hawaii more specifically), it does have a nice ambiance that is more American. I'd give this place 3.5 stars, but I round down given that it doesn't quite call out to me the way it has to other reviewers here (at least based on the current average rating). read more
