Cool...I'm already the Duke of Duke's -- that was too easy ;)

*Duke's is Finally Back* Due to an unfortunate interior fire last year, Duke's was forced to temporarily close. Now that the dust has finally settled and the mini mart has been remodeled, Duke's reopened today on the first day of fall. Stoped by today to say hey and to make sure they're still going to have the rotisserie chicken burritos because they're pretty pretty pretty good. Happy Duke's is back and better than before. I know I'm not just speaking (writing) just for myself, but for my wife too... And others in the neighborhood...and all the construction workers, nurses and medical office personnel who rely on coming here often, during breaks and lunch breaks...and all the people in their cars, passing by on 111 & Frank Sinatra, who need their quick-fix. Welcome back Duke's Team and Duke & Gary...you've all been missed.

Why in Sam Hill haven't I been to this little gem? A market and deli....yum. They have some good sandwiches and Mexican food. I've tried the Dinah shore sandwich & am looking to come back and try their Mexican menu....veggie tacos here I come.

While my friend was at the dentist I discovered this little gem of a grocery/deli..I ordered the chicken burrito. It far exceeded my expectations . It was soo delicious. They have a great menu. The chili relleno looked delicious. I would definitely go back again.

We went to Duke's today for lunch because I had heard so many people tell me about these sandwiches. It was very busy, with a steady stream of customers in the store shopping for mini mart items as well as lining up at the deli for sandwiches, burritos and a lot of other items on the menu. Everything look delicious! I chose the Gamacho because that is the one that I have heard about the most... and boy it did NOT disappoint. They start with a toasted Mexican bun with ham with provolone cheese in the center and crisp bacon on top, then add fresh avocado, pickled jalapeños, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. It was probably the best deli sandwich I have ever had. The service was quick and friendly, and Duke was there and was very nice and welcoming to the customers. This place is a MUST and I will be coming back regularly!

Much cleaner, brighter, happier place than the old Jensen's mini mart.

Right from the entrance, your gretted with a friendly smile from everyone. Normally it's someone who's at the cash register as they're the one closest to the entrance. That's alway a nice way to enter a store knowing that you're welcomed. They alway have everything i normally come for. Floral is always amazing. The last time i was here I picked up a couple of bundles of roses and other flowers. The cashier noticed that a few of the spray roses were broken which does happen with people picking them up and looking. Grabbing it by different hands so it's bound to be bruised and broken here and there. He rang the bell and someone came over to see if there's anymore in the back. Even brought a box out to see if I wanted to exchange them. Can we say amazing customer service taking care of their customers. Also walking down the aisle, if anyone is working restocking the shelves and you have a question. They are ready to stop what they're doing and help you look for something or check in the back. I had that happened today when I had asked regarding one of their seasonal items that just launched. He walk over when he had a chance after checking me out to look for it incase I had missed it. That's above and beyond amazing service. Everyone is alway amazing and the sweetest. Also they got the new batch of totes available with a limit of 2. I needed more for groceries and glad that they're back in stock. Price did go up and I'm not sure how long they'll last. Happy shopping

If you're in need of any Trader Joe's thing, then you must stop in at this one in Cathedral City. Located off Palm Canyon in the shopping center with Target, El Pollo Loco and lots of familiar spots, but next door to Boomers - National Amusement Center which keeps this parking lot extra lit. The layout is pretty easy and classic to the ways of Traders locations. I'm usually only in town for a weekend here or there and when coming up to visit friends and or/stay this is one of my main go to places for snacks, small groceries, and wine. The service here is great and even when it's very busy I still feel like everything runs so smoothly. Awesome produce, nuts, hummus, dips, chips and veggie friendly finds. Impossible nuggets in the frozen section? Yes, please! A bottle of French rosé... It's a yah! Good prices and quality everything. Whether your local, passing through as a traveler or just visiting. This Trader Joe's will be good to you. And yes like any places they may run low or out of popular items or even discontinue things, however you'll be surprised when you discover new ones. Ordered the New York style hot pastrami on rye with coleslaw and a Dr. Brown's Cream Soda. The pastrami was the highlight. Piled high, tender, and full of that classic deli flavor with just the right amount of richness. The rye bread held everything together well and had a nice bite to it. It's the kind of sandwich you have to take a second to look at before figuring out how to eat it. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp, a good balance to the sandwich, and the cream soda was cold and refreshing. Also ordered a slice of pistachio cake to go. Absolutely delicious. The place has that old school deli feel, busy but in a good way, and full of character. Service was friendly and efficient even with the crowd. Definitely a spot worth stopping at if you're in Palm Desert and want a proper deli sandwich.

Service was excellent. Seated immediately and ordering minutes later. Got extra cream cheese on request and our coffees were diligently refilled. The main attraction was the pastrami sandwich. Totally to my wife's taste, extremely lean and stacked high. She had to take half home. I tried an omelette with corned beef and loved it. The everything bagel was perfectly acceptable, not too "bready." So: service good, pastrami good, and bagel good. Everything good about a deli is covered.
