This salon is my number one go to for Nani's and pedi's. I have been coming here for over 10 years and in that time they have always given me great service. There have been a few times when the wait time was long, but that's expected from time to time at busy spot such as this one. Everyone here is very kind and welcoming and they always take care of their clients. As you can see from the picture below they catered to my idea of having bears painted on so as be in sync with my coming baby shower. The quality of Duke's has definitely gone down. I've gotten my nails done here occasionally and it use to be my go to place. I went here today with my husband for our anniversary to get our nails done. We both got a mani pedi. My pedi was alright except for the big toe on my right foot. The nail was cut crooked My mani was just horrible. My nails weren't cut evenly even though I mentioned it a few times, the nail polish wasn't coated correctly and there was bubbles that were forming. I understand that English isn't the first language here, but it isn't hard to say how long is the wait nor say that they'll get right back to me. Pedicure itself was fine but beware that you will never get the nasty smell of the lotion they use on your feet and legs off your skin or out of your clothes. I scrubbed for 20 min in the shower after I got home and my legs and feet smell intensely like the cheapest car air freshener you can imagine. The entire place smelled like extremely strong air freshener and gel nail remover and had horrible ventilation. My clothes, purse and hair smell from sitting in the massage chair and the shoes I wore smell like the horrible lotion. Beware. read more

As we arrived at Duke's nail shop on Eagle Rock Blvd. They were doing their services outside. The male nail technician no Greeting, was straight to the point with such hostility in his tone, and looked at my disable client and told me if his toenails are long and hard we cannot do it he was very rude. I stated to him that his nails are long because he hasn't gotten them done in awhile, but they're not hard to the point where you cannot cut them. He told him to takeoff his shoes first, and asked another nail tech to check them out . As she check them out she nodded her head to him he looked down and said OK we can cut them but we can't give him a pedicure that's it. I was so appalled by how rude he was to a developmental disable citizen. And told him that he was discriminating. He didn't seem to care, and didn't reply nor look up at us again. Dragged my mom into get an acrylic powder over layer on her thumbs because they always split. They look great, and Linda took her time on her. $25 Gel Manicure; I got Sarah for my gel mani, and was extremely impressed how gentle, and patient she was. She took her time and my manicure felt so relaxing. When filing and painting she was very precise. My mom and I luckily beat the rush. Although there was a rush, I was not rushed. It was really nice because sometimes at other spots when it get packed and people are waiting the manicurist rush you and send you off. But not here. Yo, so I get covid increase in prices, but 58$ for a gel mani and pedicure is ridiculous! Also, asked for a simple design and they weren't able to do it, but we're able to hand paint a cancer awareness ribbon for the lady next to me. Never again, I've been coming to this nail salon since I was a teenager and about 2 weeks ago I went in for a full set with get. The lady left them very thick, so now when they started coming off the were just ripping my nails. I went to a different a salon another one that I trusted as well and they had such a hard time taking them off they couldn't believe how thick and stuck my nails were!! I am a long time resident of neighboring Glassell Park and have been to Duke's a few times before. My sister is a loyal customer but I have been trying different places. I decided to go back because I didn't want to drive far and called first to make sure that they can accommodate me. I was pleasantly surprised that Duke's did a renovation. They've expanded their salon to the space that was previously occupied by a hair salon. They have new light blue spa chairs and more nail technicians so there's no more wait. My nail technician was Vicki and I am very satisfied with the service that she provided. All I really want is a basic manicure and pedicure and she delivered. I don't regularly get my nails done, but when there's an occassion coming up I usually go here and just walk in on their not so busy days, which is usually a tuesday or wednesday afternoon. I have been coming to this nail salon for 2.5 years. I usually call the day before or the same day to make an appointment. I ALWAYS get my gel manicure done by Henry or Sarah. Henry is meticulous and patient. However, I hardly ever come into the salon with any idea of what I want and he always has a new, creative way to design my nails. Sarah is very good with nail art; she even drew minions! Everyone in the shop is very kind, friendly and knowledgable. I trust them completely with my nails. My gel manicure lasts 2.5-3 weeks and in my profession as a nurse, I have to wash my nails all of the time. It is definitely worth it for me. I usually get my pedicure done by Lily. She is quick and can help with ingrown toe nails. She is usually booked with appointments because she is so good at what she does. That being said, even when I make appointments, sometimes there is a wait. Yes, sometimes they are busy. That's understandable. They are a nail salon. They will have walk-ins. Some nail designs take longer than expected. I don't think that this takes away from their business; it only proves that they are very attentive to each customer and want to provide the best service possible.
