It looks and tastes completely different from the one I had in 2020. The filling looks darker, and there's a strong taste of ginger. I won't be getting this again. Chicken and chive dumpling 3.5/5 - Both wrapper and filling are pretty basic. Not bad but not amazing. The wrapper doesn't have the QQ texture that makes a dumpling stand out. We had beef chow mein (noodles had good texture, as I'm assuming is also handmade on site), chicken fried rice, soup dumplings, jiaozi (also dumplings), and beef wrap (roast beef wrapped in green onion pancakes - this was good). While the outside is very unassuming and the inside has limited seating, this seems to be a very popular local restaurant. We came in on a Wednesday night and were able to be seated and served quickly. We ordered a bunch of dishes and loved everything! The Shanghai soup dumplings were very tasty, the sweet and spicy eggplant was delicious and covered in so much sauce, the beef and broccoli was tender and again served with a flavorful sauce, the wonton soup had a good ratio of wontons to veggies, and the chicken and corn dumplings were also really good! Our food came out extremely quickly as it was ready (dishes came out one by one but within a few minutes of each other at most) and was served hot off the stove/wok/steamer. The portions are large and easy to share with everyone at the table. Even the wonton soup we ordered had lots of wontons, enough for everyone to have like 3. The prices are also pretty reasonable considering the amount you get and the taste of the food. This location had a different place before so this was the first time for us to try Dumpling Capital and I'm so glad we did. While they have a small parking lot there's still a lot of street parking so it's not too bad. So hard to try new things with only two people - definitely want to go back to try other dishes but for this go around this is what we had. We had Pork and Crab dumpling. While it's tasty - there wasn't a lot of soup (hence minus a star). Definitely needed more soup. Their golden fried tofu was pretty good - next time I think we'll try the salt and pepper one - I thought it was lacking some flavor. The favorites was the eggplant with basil - cooked PERFECTLY with SO MUCH FLAVOR - but the #1 was their garlic green onion pancake! MY OH MY! who would have thought with that combo!! It's a casual dine in restaurant, nothing fancy but that's what I was looking for to satisfy my sunday dumpling cravings. We started off with the garlic string beans which had diced onion as well. The beans a bit too oily for my liking, have had better string beans at other places so I would try a different veggie appetizer next time. The xiao long bao had good flavor, decent amount of soup even though the skin wasn't thin enough but still good. The shrimp and pork in spicy wonton sauce was pretty good. I liked the addition of coriander on top. The shrimp and pork dumplings with chive were good too. I felt the filling was similar in flavor to the wontons. In particularly liked their dumpling cover more than other the ones I have had at other places. The pork and shrimp sui mai was fresh and flavorful as well. I was happy to try some new things and some staples like a simple egg fried rice which my kid absolutely enjoyed. The quantity is good too. I came 1 hour before closing which is still a reasonable time, seems that the staff are in a hurry to close, ordered the dimsum and it's definitely still a bit cold. The bits of onion and garlic taste so good with the dumplings and other things we ordered. Pork and chive dumpling - can't go wrong with a classic order. Black bean noodle - delicious but not the same chewy noodles we were hoping for like jajangmyeon. Yes I know the Chinese one is the original. I just love chewy noodles. March 21, 2026 - seeing this business each time I exit the strip mall, it was time to try it out. There are several small businesses that share a tiny lot. Parking is extremely limited (next time I plan on parking in the strip mall and walking across the street). But this is not about parking, as they have little to no control of that, it is about the service and food. Upon entering, I walked up to the cash register and said I would be eating here/dining in. I chose a table and sat down and was soon given a menu and a glass of ice water. I ordered the pork dumplings with Napa cabbage. It did not take very long for them to be served. The server angrily said "no tip??" when we clicked the no tip option on the POS screen even though the 18% was already included. So you have been warned. Aside from the service, the food is pretty solid here. I would say most of the items we ordered were above average in quality and the prices were pretty reasonable for a Chinese restaurant. The pan-fried dumplings were good too, but the dough in the middle was a bit chewy--not terrible, just not my favorite. I wish they were a little crispier. We also tried a few other dishes like the Mapo Tofu Noodles and some veggies. The Mapo Tofu Noodles were pretty bland, though, and didn't have much flavor to them. It was our first time seeing Mapo tofu with noodles instead of rice. For veggies, we ordered string beans and pea shoots. The string beans were fine, but the pea shoots weren't washed properly--there was a lot of sand/grit between the leaves. To make it worse, my partner even bit into plastic from the dish. This place has everything on their menu. They have dimsum, clay pots, rice plates, noodles, soup and more. This rating is mostly for their dumplings. Good Sichuan Spicy Pork and Shrimp Wonton. It's their version of Hot Chili Oil Wonton. The wontons were really good. Very tasty pork filling in thin wonton wrappers. Wontons were sitting in spicy chili oil with a lot more kick than I'm used to but it was still yummy. I like the sprinkle of sesame seeds and cilantro on top. They both gave the dish another layer of flavor. The XLB/Crab Meat Soup Dumplings were also good. Not too soupy but the filling was well seasoned. And the proportion of the wrapper and filling was good. Did not skimp on the filling, wrapper was not too thick. Same with the Pan Fried Dumplings. Good meat filling wrapper ratio. Umami flavor from the filling and slightly sweet flavor from the soft steamed dough wrapper. The pork and shrimp wonton noodle soup was just ok. I chose the handmade noodles over the hand cut noodles. It reminded me of spaghetti noodles. The broth was kind of bland. Got better after I added soy sauce and pepper. The wontons were really good though. Seems like the same wontons in the Sichuan Spicy Wontons. Reasonably priced. Food came out quick.
