Dumpling King is located in a plaza with Publix. It seems a bit out of place for a small town, I think people are mostly used to the usual take out Chinese. But give it a chance, it's nice trying new things. I lived in Orlando off of East colonial where all the great Asian restaurants are and this place reminds me of that. The food is delicious. I especially love the soup dumplings, and the scallion pancakes. I always get those when I go. We had the curry soup last time and it needed a little more flavor but the cold noodles were delicious with the peanut sauce. The service is always great. We were looking for the best dumpling place around us. The closest one was Dumpling King. The last time I had steamed dumplings this good was in Las Ramblas Spain. Man this place is good, Shanghai soup dumplings, chive pork and shrimp dumpling, and crab and pork soup dumplings. I asked for all of them steam. Omg yum! Never visited their popular north Miami Beach location so was really excited to try their eats. They're located in a newer small plaza with a tight parking lot so keep this in mind. The spot is simple in decor. Black and white no frills. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table or you wait for your take-out. It's become a popular spot quickly and menu items are made to order so wait times can be long depending on when you visit. We loved everything we ordered. Incredible! This is the second location of Dumpling King. The original is in North Miami Beach, and well, it is superior to this location in Pembroke Pines. Why do I say this? The original location has much more variety on the menu. That and honestly I felt more wowed by their food there rather than this location. This isn't to say that the food isn't good. In fact, it's above average. Met up with my friend who treated me to a meal. Very kind of him and I'll have to return the favor at some point. We chose to split many dishes, including honey chicken wings, a scallion pancake, soup dumplings, and braised pork rice. The honey chicken wings were suggested by the cashier and I'm happy she suggested them. They were meaty and sweet and just plain tasty. The scallion pancake with its accompanying sauce meanwhile opened up the appetite. The soup dumplings were then a treat to partake in. I believe this is the only place in South Florida that makes them. Savory pillows of heaven, but I have admittedly had better in Austin. Still, it at least killed the urge. As for the braised pork rice, little bites of pork belly that went perfectly well with the rice. Honestly you can't go wrong with what you order here. Popped over to Dumpling King last week after being in the area for an appointment. Dumpling King was able to fix my craving of steamed soup dumplings which is hard to find in the South Florida area. As soon as I walked in, the cashier greeted me and took my order. I had enjoyed the crab and pork soup dumplings which was flavorful. The lychee black tea was a perfect combination to wash down my delicious meal. The parking is slim but worth it if you're able to find a spot. Thank God that they slice them, I ate three strips before I even got to my destination. While I waited in line to order and then waited for my to-go order, I drooled over everything coming out of the kitchen . I studied the menu ferociously. I took pictures and memorized everything that I want to try when I return. The chicken wings! I saw an order at a nearby table and wanted to join them. I want to try other dumplings and the soups too. When you go here, expect long lines to be seated and expect a long wait for your food. You can also expect some of the best dumplings in South Florida. Do not go here if you want a romantic spot. Do not go here if you expect to have excellent service. Oh Dumpling King..what an experience. So first & really important when you visit do not sit down at a table automatically - you will get yelled at to wait in line first. You order first and then you sit at a table (y'all it was rough & embarrassing). They do not have a sign when you first walk in that says to wait to get seated. It's not until you get in line to order that they have the sign about the seating. Maybe they should put it on the door as you walk in to make it a more smooth transition. Once you get in line & order, you get a number to place on your table and they bring your food and drinks (they have a refrigerator by the cashier if you would like to purchase sodas and water). The menu at first was a little confusing to know what is what because the pictures do not align with the food but thankfully the reviews shows pictures with captions so it helped. To eat/drink we had the following: Mango Green Tea with boba: $4.50 for a large tea with boba included it not bad at all. Was very refreshing. The tea had this little bits of something at the bottom still not sure what it was but good overall. Seafood Hot Spicy Dip: Wow what a soup! I got a medium and it was VERY spicy. It comes with shrimp, fish, imitation crab, clear noodles, different veggies, tofu in a bone broth. Side note: the clear noodles are a little tougher of a noodle so they don't break as easily as a standard noodle you have to work to chew that bad boy. Loved having the broth to dip the dumplings in. It really is packed with flavor. But the menu doesn't say what seafood comes in it. Chicken Dumplings: You can have them fried or steamed. We opted for steam. They were delicious nothing much to rave on just a standard chicken dumpling. Crab & Pork Steamed Soup Dumplings: they give you 8 pieces (sorry for the photo yall the steam is real when they pull the lid off) but these were amazing! They have soup on the inside when you bite into it and a combination of pork and crab on the inside. Shanghai Style Steamed Soup Dumplings: These are really yummy as well. Not sure what filling is inside of these but they have soup on the inside as well. Small little spot off University Dr in Pembroke Lines. Went for lunch with my sister. You order at the counter and then take a number to your table. They make everything fresh, you can watch several people making dumplings. The food comes out as it's ready, which is great for the person who orders quick stuff but not great for the hungry person still waiting on their food. Both broths were savory and flavorful, you could tell they cooked for hours. I wish they would have cut the bok choy into smaller pieces as it's really hard to shove a whole one in your mouth, let alone try to bite into it. First time eating here so late in the game bc it's closed for whatever reason we always try to come - but we've finally made it. It's just as good as its sister store in North Miami, imo. The menu is exactly the same and clean and spacious, but it looks like this location is more busy since Broward people discovered the beauty of soup dumplings. The Shanghai soup dumplings are a must and any meat of the fried dumplings is a good choice. If you're into spicy, I recommend the hot spicy dip, basically a hot noodle soup. All so good. I ordered the shanghai soup dumplings and the spicy chicken fried rice. The spicy chicken fried rice was not spicy, vegetables seemed like they were frozen, and the chicken was dry and old. In reality, the rice resembled Spanish rice more than it did resemble Asain fried rice. I would say this was especially weird considering I went there close to opening time, when food is supposed to be freshly made. Maybe I am wrong to say this, but even a shrimp sauce could help mask the taste of this very mediocre fried rice, but there was none. The dumplings were not much better. The filling was rather simple. No green onions and barely any seasoning. Store bought, frozen dumplings would've been just as good. Truthfully, I would neither return nor recommend this place to anyone. I think it's only fair to judge a restaurant on its food, and thats why the one star. I always loved the dumpling king in NMB so when they opened one up near me in Pembroke Pines, I was so excited. The first time I tried it, they had just opened for not that long. They weren't that busy so there weren't people making the dumplings at the time. I actually didn't like it at first because I thought the dough was too thick. My first bite into it and it was full of dough. Since then I think they've definitely improved. Both the pork and the crab and pork soup dumplings are good. Good flavor and the broth inside is also delish. Make sure you don't waste the broth. Drink it and savor it! Their spicy dips are also delish. Each one is filled with clear noodles, crunchy cabbage, chewy rice cakes, fresh bok choy and tongue numbing peppercorns. Be careful with the amount of spicy level you request. I can tolerate spicy foods and I made the mistake of ordering medium one time and that was the last time. The stir fry intestines were really good too. A little salty but good texture and very clean. Excellent with a steaming bowl of rice. The chives and pork fried dumplings are another one of my faves. Full of chive flavor with a crispy under layer. They're seating situation used to be first come first serve but now I've noticed when it's during busy times, they have someone minding the tables to make sure you order before you are allowed to sit down. When all the tables are full, they will put you on a waitlist before you can order. Wow. Wow. Talk about authentic Asian food. The pancakes were absolutely to die for. There was a sweet chili dipping sauce that was delish. The wonton soup was good, however i could have done with out it. Because the chicken dumplings we ordered were so good! You can either get dumplings fried or boiled, we did opt for fried. So much flavor again and just felt very fresh and like real ingredients. The restaurant is a small space, but they make the most of the space they have and offer plenty of seating. I have never tasted dumplings before, but my friend had me intrigued when she recommended we go to this establishment. I ordered the beef soup dumplings, which comes with 8 pieces (which is more than enough). We grabbed our chopsticks and our spoon. We'd poke a hole in the dumpling, pour the soup out into the spoon, and take a sip, before chowing down on the dumpling itself. It was surprisingly flavorful and filling. NOT VEGAN!!! When placing my order, I asked which items were vegan. I was told the cold noodles were vegan. They dish had eggs and had a sauce made with fish sauce. They do not have vegan items on their menu. The decor is nothing special. Concrete floors and nothing on the walls. You can watch the ladies making dumplings through a window. I would have been happier if they told me that none of their food was vegan. If you eat meat pork, chicken, and eggs, Dumpling King could be a good choice. There have been a lot more Asian spots popping up in East Pines lately and I am here for it... especially when they include soup dumplings! This new location is in a plaza along University Drive and is pretty spacious. You order at the register and can grab a table after where they'll bring you your order. There's a large window where you can see them make the dumplings! The portions are fairly large and shareable with a group of friends which is what we did. Of course, we had to get soup dumplings and some fried ones. My friends also ordered the beef soup. Everyone was satisfied and stuffed by the time we all finished eating. The fillings are plump and juicy crisp on the bottom part when you order them pan fried, you can also get them steamed. There is plenty of soy sauce and chili oil at the table. Prompt and efficient counter service, you can give someone your order or use the kiosk and then you have a number that you take to your table and they will bring it out when it's ready. I ordered the Pork Gyozas, Shrimp and Chicken soup dumplings, Honey Wings, and Thai Iced Tea. The gyozas were really good with the Chilli oil and dumpling sauce. The soup dumplings were a bit too doughy for me. The dough was thick and hard to cut through. I think the dough should have been lighter and had more soup. The Thai Tea was good. The honey wings were delicious. However, not that this had anything to do with the rating... But, I can't seem to get over the fact that when you order 8 wings it's really 4 wings cut in half. Boy, do I remember the days when you got a whole damn wing. I don't think this new generation will ever experience a whole wing. They have been cheated! Lol Carrying on... it was a cool spot. I had to take a double look to make sure it was really the same dumpling king I knew when I lived in NMB. And it was. But better! This post may be bias for my comparison to the first location. But this Pines location is huge. Plenty of seating. But first come first serve bc it does get busy. Especially weekends and lunch time. It's near Sheridan and University so def a busy street/intersection. I wanted to order everything. But I had to settle for just a few items. We definitely tried the Shanghai (pork) Soup Dumplings. It was the staple for the first location. And it did not disappoint. Flavors were definitely there. On the table, they had chili hot oil that was actually spicy! We appreciated that! We sprinkled some inside of our soup dumplings. We also had the Pan Fried pork Dumplings which are made fresh, so expect a wait for this item to come out. You can see the women through a window freshly packing the dumplings! It was awesome. And lastly we got the Spicy Beef Hot Dip which is not a dip but a soup. It's base... hot chili oil! What. It does come Mild, Medium, and Hot. And I will say the Medium is spicy so beware. It comes with clear noodles which were perfect, pak choi which is kind of like a bok choy, tofu, and some rice cake at the bottom. It was also very delicious. Everyone was ordering the Honey Fried Chicken. As it was coming out it looked soooooo good. Definitely want to come back just for that and some more soup dumplings. If I could eat dumplings everyday I 100% would. Dumpling king was so delicious and very very filling! I wanted to try everything but limited myself to both of their soup dumplings, chives pork and shrimp fried dumpling, and their beef hot and spicy dip (my absolute favorite dish). The dumplings were very big and very tasty. My friends were so excited to try that we all burned our mouths going to for soup dumplings too quick lol. Surprisingly, the best part of my meal was the spicy dip which is a clear noodle soup. It was a spicy broth packed with thin sliced beef, tons of cabbage that wasn't wilted, and great umami flavors. I really like that the dumplings here are handmade. I ordered the lunch special with fried rice + wings as well as soup dumplings and fried dumplings to share. You can actually taste how fresh the dumpling wrappers are and the flavors were good as well. Although the prices were a bit high, each order came with a lot of food. I personally enjoy that this is more like a quick service restaurant where you order at the counter and the food comes out. The only thing I would say is that I didn't feel like the water cups were sanitary as they were left out for you to grab yourself + they weren't disposable.
