It's been quite a while since the last time I was literally insulted and treated just about as rudely you can get. My friend and I stopped for a while. my lady friend bought a couple of items at the very nice gift shop next to Cape Fear. She then wanted a cup of coffee, we made the mistake of stepping into this establishment When my friend asked for a cup of coffee, the clerk looks at the coffee pot and says oh there's not much left in the pot, you might want to go across the street, there's a very nice coffee and pastry shop. there was salmon being smoked and I inquired about a bagel and smoked salmon, she looks at me and says we have no bagels, there's a salmon sandwich, but it's 15.00 dollars. I guess she decided I couldn't afford 15.00. I had just completed a wonderful 9 night stay at a cabin in Cazadero. I won't be coming back to the general store read more

Great small town store !! Gives you that old time feeling. Great customer service, and they have all the essentials and then some. Awesome jerky !! That's made on sight, so it's fresh. Ps. How can you give a business 1 star because they're out of something homemade ? It's made daily so it's fresh !! If they're out of it, I guess that means it's pretty darn good. I was recently in Duncan mills and stopped in the general store there. I ordered a sandwich and while I was waiting I noticed a cockroach on the sandwich bar. I just turned around and walked out. I would not recommend eating there or doing any other business there. read more

Heard this was a great deli but discovered today its mediocre. Ordered a pastrami with provolone on Dutch crunch and the pastrami itself was great quality, the provolone was great quality, the bread was decent but here's where the sandwich went wrong , The Fixins!!!! The meat to bread ratio was 30% meat 70% bread and when u get that ratio of meat to bread a sandwich can be pretty dry if it's not fixed properly . I asked for mayo and mustard and they barely put either on the sandwich which made a sandwich super dry. I cant stand a dry sandwich. read more

Biggest sandwiches I have ever seen! And delicious. Lunch and dinner for me. The area is beautiful and the people are very friendly.

I do really like the deli here with their housemade meats. I would go here to pick up stuff for a picnic. That's about it. They are way over priced on most things and their fresh veggie section is not that good. Bartletts in Monte Rio is a much better stocked and lower priced little store. It isn't cutesy but it is far more practical. read more

One of my favorites in the whole bay area. Organic produce, good selection of general goods, and an amazing assortment of frozen meats raised by the owners themselves, or from family members or local farms. The ground beef and steaks are killer, and don't miss the pastured eggs from a Healdsburg farm (Blue Leg farms)... they might be the best I've ever had. read more

I realized the General Store needs some updated reviews! A really lovely family has taken it over. I live just around the corner and love this place. The new owners do an amazing job of keeping it stocked with what locals & visitors might need. If you're in a rental or camping, anything you forgot to bring can be found here from toothpaste to the ingredients for s'mores. They stock all the basics and all the extra special vacation items including great local wine. They also bake their own bread and have a deli. (I haven't tried the deli yet but have only heard good things) We mostly use it to pick up items we've run out of like milk or eggs, but we also use it as a nice place to walk in the evenings for an ice cream. They also stock lots of great beer and my personal favorite, Crabbie's Ginger Beer which is hard to find and absolutely delicious. It's full of little treasures. This is definitely a place to stop when you're in Duncans Mills. read more

I don't really want to give 1 star, but not sure how to rate the place. Went there to purchase jerky, which we had several years ago. They were out! The girl behind the counter seemed confused when we asked if they had any and she told us he was making some today (on a Saturday). Wouldn't you make something like that BEFORE you run out? So disappointed; so looking forward to it because as I remember, it was soooooo good and nothing like I'd ever had before. Don't know if you can order it online. :-( read more

Interesting and high quality selection of eatables and unique sundries. I love this cute store - I go for the baked goods (fresh breads, cookies), local meats, and love to just look around. I always find new and fun things like mermaid soap, cute dish towels and local art. read more

A convenient little market. I've always been the only person in there when I get some stuff here, so you gotta be careful about the expiration dates. They have almost everything and anything you need in here. I would suggest stopping by in Guerneville where the prices are a little lower and there is usually a better selection. read more

This is a great stop for lunch if you're traveling the PCH. The deli sandwiches are big and delicious (some of the meats are made in house), and they have a great selection of drinks and snacks for the road. It's situated in the middle of a cute little town, with other quaint shops to visit, so definitely worth the slight detour! read more

Sweet little country store, the selection is small, but they carried a variety of things so they may have what you need/want. We were looking for 'Wild Hog' wines which are local, organic/biodynamic wines, prices were comparable to bigger store, we really enjoyed both we tried. Looks like they had a few items of organic produce, local packaged meat and fish for those who eat it, don't expect to find veg options here. read more

The owner is a very welcoming and wonderful person.....they have a fantastic deli.....souvenier sweatshirts clothing.....homemade beef jerky that is truly out of this world.....I bought my husband and treated my lucky dogs to some and they all went crazy over it....put it this way husband wants to go back for more.....Definitely stop by and check it out...... read more

A great little market that could easily rip you off based on it's location and the lack of anything similar around it, but the prices were very reasonable. We were headed camping and needed to pick up some things, the woman working here was very helpful and they had very fresh dairy products, which sometimes those out-of-the-way places don't have. They also had a great selection of beer and wine. Oh, and if you need to pick up a souvenier or are cheesy enough to want something from there for yourself, there's that, too! read more

Great artisan sandwiches. Decent wine selection. No dogs.

Been coming here for years but lately the expansion to the new store has created a drop in quality in the sandwich dept. The help is flawless but have been served stale bread 2 times in a row. The sandwich was comp the first time. But come on throw out the stale stuff and make us happy again. Also the new smoker on jerky is not working well. The hand method was flawless the new jerky is dry dry dry chewy rubbery and will not be paying $25 per pound until I see the old smoker back in place. Your losing the quality and the prices are rising not a good move your local customers are noticing. I don't mind paying for the best but don't gouge. On my next hike I am stopping at another store for my sandwich after 2 stale breads in row I am not going to be disappointed again. We will return in hope we like you people. read more

Awesome little market out in Duncan's Mills! They have essentially anything you could need when making a trip to the store, from alcohol (including a wide variety of wines) to fresh produce to deli sandwiches for lunch. Staff are always helpful and courteous, and very capable of handling rushes (which are quite frequent despite DM having a population of like 8 people). 10/10 would recommend to anyone driving out that way!!! read more

everything in this place is outrageously expensive...its convenient to have this place in town but they're cashing in on it!
