They are 100% committed to making your visit as enjoyable as it can be. The resort sits on a fairly large lake, 1 mile south of Lake Superior...the lake was originally used as a Lumber Holding\Sorting area. The proximity to both does not just offer some fantastic fishing, but keeps the temperature relatively tame.. Mid July we were roughly in the low 70s, a couple of days in the low 80s and a few nights in the 40s... so don't worry bout the absence of AC in the cabins... Not really Needed. However light pants and long sleeve shirt may be a life saver when the black flies are about. They can be relentless in the north-woods There are 6 cabins, 2 x 2 Unit Duplexes and 2 stand alones? The wife and I stayed in a duplex laid out as an efficiency unit . Again no AC but a small fan was supplied with screened windows offering a great cross-breeze. We had a double bed plus a double futon as a couch..bedding pillows and some warm blankets were provided. Hot water was ample, crisp great tasting well water.. Bathroom had a shower and toilet...powerful plumbing with clean towels!. The kitchen had a small 2 seat dinette as shown in the photos. Propane range\oven with a small set of pans and cooking utensils. We had a toaster, efficiency refrigerator w/freezer and Weber grill outside. Servings for 4. The place was immaculate.. bring paper towels and TP There's 150\200' of nice beach, an area for a communal bonfire..fish cleaning hut and a rowboat is provided with the cabin. Motorboats when available are 50$ a day but you can bring your own. This was a deal at a great price. Gather your necessities at the IGA in Newberry on the way in because once you're here ya don't want leave. Ask mike about where the berries are when they're in season. It's beautiful, peaceful, and truly in the middle of nowhere. "Resort" is sort of a loose term, as it is essentially four cabins at the end of a small peninsula between Little Lake and Lake Superior. The cabins have gas powered heat, water, and basic electricity but there are no TVs and no great luxuries. The cabins are spacious and comfortable and 3/4 have great views of Little Lake while the 4th is more tucked away in the woods (a short walk to the beach still). I could be biased because I have spent nearly every summer of my life here in addition to fall and winter weekends, but this place is my heaven on earth.

The present owners have decorated the all-amenities interior with affirmative signage that seems to encourage the occupants to soak in the restorative surroundings which include a private lake front great for fishing, wading, birding, or adventuring out in a classic rowboat. Although it'd be tempting to spend an entire visit just reading on the deck or stretched out in the spacious yard while chucking another log into the fire pit, this location is also ideally situated for day trips to some of the Upper Penninsula's most popular destinations, including Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore, Tahquemenon Falls, Castle Rock, Oswald's Bear Ranch, the shipwreck museum, lighthouses,and the quaint town of Newberry, to name a few. We couldn't help feeling we had the best of both worlds - although we were within walking distance of a convenience store/gas station that boasted everything from homemade dough nuts to basic produce, to firewood, to a full ice cream counter and deli, once we were near the lake, we thought we were miles from the rest of the world. While our children enjoyed following frogs along the shoreline and skipping stones, when they tired of outdoor play or had exhausted themselves playing in the nearby waterfalls, they could take a break in the beautifully furnished living room and find a favorite show on demand. My husband and I were delighted with the wi-fi so that we could catch up on work. When we were ready to unplug, we could read in our king sized bed and have the option to either shut out the world, or watch the night fall on the lake from the sliding door in our bedroom. Since this rental sleeps at least 8 with lots of space and privacy, we can't wait to return for another visit and invite a few friends! This space made for a vacation to treasure!
