The store itself is wonderful. Everything you'd need for all your sporting avocations. On a recent visit to purchase a handgun, the store clerk commented on the .22 caliber not being good for self protection. I agreed and said I'd just be using it to plink or target shoot. I commented that its small caliber would probably be easy for my wife to shoot as well. At that moment almost gleefully ( not exaggerating) she said "I can't sell you this gun because you're buying it for your wife". I was stunned. I said I wasn't buying it for my wife and said "I felt it was something my wife could handle as it was a small caliber" . She then said " What I heard is you're buying it for your wife". I was so shocked by the rudeness, brusque, way that she responded. I said thank you, grabbed my license and left. I'm 64, have been a FOID card from Illinois for over 30 years. I understand gun laws, and even saw the sign on the counter regarding the illegality of buying a firearm for someone else. Her attitude was unprofessional, irresponsible, and contemptible. What could have easily resulted in a 400. Sale resulted in nothing. When I returned home and told my wife we decided to check Yelp. Low and behold, what did we find? Check out Yelp when you can. Suffice it to say, we, and the dozens of friends and family members we tell will not patronize that store again. As a former carpenter we had a phrase fir someone not quite right in the head "a bubble off". I went looking for ammo, targets, and earplugs. I found everything I needed the prices were good very nice selection. Will go back again.

Went in to look at a few different hand guns on Saturday morning 11/27/21 and the lady at the gun counter was total bitch I just had some questions about different ones and the prices on the ads and she told me she needed my id to look at them fine I handed it over after she was very rude about the and I had showed her for a gun asking if today Saturday it would be the 120 instead of 114 and she kept saying well today is not Friday it's Saturday so no when the ad stated different and than I showed her what gun I wanted to look at she goes oh ya that one is 120 and was very rude the whole time. Than I went on to ask what would be good gun for target practice and she said I can not sell you a gun those are our laws never once did she run my id or did I fill out any paper work she just shot the sale down before I could ask to look at another gun and I had just bought a 9mm the day before and dealt with another associate at the same store. When the sales associate that I dealt with on Saturday was there Friday she was very rude and impatient with coworkers and customers and was very downgrading to them. She wears glasses and her hair in a low pony tail. Try and avoid her at all costs she makes you feel like your stupid and won't sell you a firearm because you ask questions will not be back. read more

I needed a tube for pulling behind my boat and they had quite the selection On top of that they were on sale! Woot Woot. The store looked pretty big and well stocked, but I didn't go that deep in. The prices on what I bought were good and the staff was friendly. read more

I just went in to return some clothes that I bought for my mother who lives in assisted living. When I was in the store to return the clothes and a pair of shoes the clerk was extremely rude and condescending. She walked to the desk and pointed to it as if I was to know that I was supposed to go there. I came over and explained her that I had clothes and shoes that I had to return and I produced my receipt. She very rudely explained to me that she cannot return the shoes without the box even though I had the receipt. The shoes were clearly not worn and in very good condition. Long story short, she made me go over and find the shoes in the store and bring her the box so that she could return the shoes. I couldn't find the exact size but I did find the exact shoe. She then very rudely explained to me again that she can't return the shoes because she needed the correct SKU number. I asked for her name at that point. Instead of giving me her name she then called her manager and told her that she needed to see her up front. The manager clearly asked her what happened on the phone and she proceeded to explain to her manager that I was unhappy with her and that she had done nothing wrong. The manager finally told her to just return the shoes which is what I was trying to get her to do in the first place. They were completely rude and I don't think that I could ever shop there again considering how badly the clerk treated me. The worst part is that when I returned my mother to the nursing home and talked to the ladies that work there about my issue, they all stated they had terrible experiences with customer service at this Dunhams store. It's amazing to me that a small town store could survive with such deplorable customer service. This is not been my first issue with Dunhams and this will be the last time that I deal with this. I will never shop there again. read more
