I dropped by this Krispy Kreme at Ayala Center in Cebu City twice recently. Each time, the shop was packed with customers. They were lined up patiently, and all the tables and seats were filled to capacity. The donuts were beautifully presented in the display cases just as they are in the U.S.A. I did not see an assembly line of Original Glaze donuts being cooked at this location. Maybe that is the reason why their original glaze donuts did not taste as yummy as I am accustomed to. Was really disappointing. I tried a couple of other donut flavors. The Kit Kat donut tasted okay. The New York Cheesecake donut was alright too. Overall, I felt that this Krispy Kreme branch was decent. Probably will not be patronizing them very much in the future, though. If the Original Glaze donut is not going to taste as well as in the States, then there is not much else reason to drop by.

We love dropping by Titay's every visit we make to Cebu, Philippines. Sure, you can find their products in many grocery and souvenir stores all over Cebu. We prefer dropping by their home store because they are conveniently located nearby my wife's hometown. Titay's is a great place to pick up "pasalubong"!! What does that mean? Pasalubong is a gift or souvenir given to friends or relatives by a person who has returned from a trip. Titay's has so many choices. There is even an option where they have already prepackaged several boxes of goodies in a convenient durable hand carry bag. Terrific for hand carrying on your plane ride. They make a variety of snacks. By far, though, their most popular item is their Rosquillos. There are other companies who make these round crunchy and buttery cookies. Titay's is the original maker, and the best of the bunch!!! This store in Liloan also has a bakery with display cases showcasing sweets they made for the day. I am not too crazy of their donuts, but I do like their ensaymada. There are also seats and tables to dine at and enjoy your sweets. Highly recommend dropping by Titay's when you are in Cebu. We went there a number of times while my niece was hospitalized. They are a tiny store, but they carried everything we needed. Service is friendly. The store is really messy and crowded though. I think because the square footage of the store is so limited, they do not have room for everything. They do not have all the stuff you find in American 7-Eleven stores, but that is fine with me. If they were cleaner and not so cluttered, I would give them 5 stars!

The location I am…read morewriting about is the one located inside the Mactan International Airport at their Departure area inside Terminal 1. I believe it is the only DD shop inside the airport. Anyways, I am glad they have a shop at the airport. Bought me some to share with the family before boarding our flight to Boracay. My wife wanted to find out if her favorite flavors from her childhood were as good as she remembered. I was curious to try those flavors because they are not available in the United States. Unfortunately, the flavors were not nearly as delicious as she remembered. I tried them, and I was not impressed either. They did not have the Boston Creme donut which is what I like at the American DD shops. I thought that the Choco Butternut, Blueberry Cheese, and Nutty Chocolate flavors were just decent. Oh well. This is not a little stand found in many malls in Cebu. This was a normal sized shop at Sands Gateway Mall in Danao. There was plenty of donut choices available that afternoon. I bought one Bavarian Creme filled donut and one Boston Creme donut. Both were good with a nice balance of filling to dough. Better than what I bought at a DD stand at Robinsons Galleria in Cebu. Indoor decor was simple yet modern. The La Marzocco machine is always a good sign for me and I saw that beauty as soon as we entered. For drinks, My husband ordered a plain iced latte while I got their Spanish one. It was absolutely delicious. I was in love with that drink - not only was the latte art spot on but the drink was perfect. You could tell the beans were roasted wonderfully and the balance of sweetness was just right. We also had a pour over and I enjoyed watching how the process went. I appreciated that they also have food on the menu. I wanted to eat rice that day and was glad to see Karaage Don had it. It was delicious! The truffle fries was a nice appetizer as well and we cleaned that plate up. We were also served Chicken parmesan by mistake but we gladly ate it as that one too was delish!
