The malassada is a deep fried roll with sugar on it. Think of a thick (about an inch) fried dough. It was so soft and heavenly u like fried dough. My husband's donut was so good. I tried it and it had a very nice ratio of chocolate, delicious custard, and donut. Probably one of the best I've had in a long time. The service was great! The guy that took our order was super patient and explained what stuff was. The zeppole isn't the Italian ones we are used to but it has a Portuguese twist.
