I've had Robert & crew at the house to do tree maintenance for the past 3 yrs. They've done a great job. They've been on time, clean up all of the trimmings and cost is reasonable. Our trees have had good growth & are healthy. Robert's provided lots of info to help me keep the trees looking good until time for our next trim. I recently needed major trimming on several old growth trees as well as the complete removal of a Spanish Olive growing through my carport next to the house and 30 feet of a dying Siberian Elm. The Elm was in a very precarious position and needed to be removed with a crane. Robert and his crew did a fantastic job of all of this while at the same time doing an excellent job of protecting all the sweet baby plants coming up and blooming underneath and all around these trees. They are extremely safety conscious as well as protective of property. Professional, pleasant, listen well, collaborate with the homeowner, as well as educate the customer about a variety of issues. We went through 4 scheduled dates before the weather cooperated and Devin in the office was a pleasure to deal with when all the rescheduling was going on. Robert even came out to supervise a PNM crew who had to trim the Mulberry before he could work on it. That's service! And the limb of the cottonwood that the owls use (as well as a hummingbird nest being present) was left alone for ecological reasons. I love it! Highly recommend them for your tree care needs. They also have a guy who will take care of your pinions with a non toxic spray to rid them of those awful beetles. read more

We called Dupree's Trees during the summer of 2024 (July) & were told that we had to pay for an estimate. We did - $100 for Robert Dupree to come to our home, and review our property for tree trimming, a tree removal, a bush removal, irrigation work including extending our yard irrigation for new plantings we planned. Robert gave us a VERBAL quote of $2500-$2800 which was to include all tree trimming & bush trimming, a small (dead) tree/stump removal, clearing a perimeter of @3' beneath each large tree to ensure proper watering/aeration of root structures with ground cloth & bark, installation of our 2 boxes of new solar lights (we're elderly & can't do the install ourselves), a dead bush removal, and a few other small bushes/plants to be removed. Robert explained that the 2 trees we wanted to have him acquire & plant for us would be an additional charge of $250 per tree for pickup & transportation to our home, and another $250/tree for installation - i.e. another $1,000 for the trees. He came last Monday to do a second VERBAL quote, as he'd mentioned that prices and plant availability would be subject to change over time, and it'd been a couple of months since we paid $100 for his brief visit. Last Monday, we introduced Mr. Dupree to a few of our neighbors who stopped by and asked us for his information. Thursday Robert Dupree & his helper, Logan came to do the TWICE quoted items. Robert left at some point, Logan remained, and later I saw him packing up. My husband called Robert & asked when they would return to finish the rest of the work he'd provided us with TWO verbal quotes for, and he replied "Oh, did you NOT look at the email quote I sent you overnight?" And no, we hadn't because TWO identical verbal quotes and a handshake had been good enough for us. Oopsie! Mr. Dupree wrote a quote saying that for $2800, ALL he would do was the small tree removal/stump grinding & trim our trees. The entirety of the rest of the items we'd discussed in detail TWICE (including a $100 paid estimate visit) had been scrapped, and he "got us" with his email-quote-pseudo-legalese. We've paid in full for a fraction of the promised work, and now will no longer have anything to do with Robert Dupree or his company. Companies/Services like this are what makes us such a litigious society. To me, a trust-worthy business/business person gives their word as their bond. Litigation ensues from businesses who practice to deceive their customers and take advantage of their clientele. Dupree's trees: Nope - can't & won't recommend. Would give "MINUS" stars if possible. Caveat Emptor. Get it in WRITING, signed, BEFORE. And, stay far, far away from Dupree's trees, unless you have money to burn! As a retired Minister w/Doctorate of Divinity degree, I can only hope that others will learn from my/our experience and not have their trust as well as their bank accounts broken. read more

Everyone was professional and tidy. the service was better than expected. tree services in the past seemed overpriced and I always end up with sprinkler repairs and damage to the lawn from equipment. Robert and his team took down a large elm and pruned an even larger mulberry using only climbers and no bucket truck. excellent job and other than a great looking bunch of trees I can't even tell they were here. thanks so much. read more

I hired Dupree's Trees to cut 3 large trees back from the electric lines, to remove all the dead bits that had piled up, and to remove one limb that hangs over the neighbors porch. I hired them because Robert assured me that as an almost certified arborist he could fix the area in the largest tree where a limb had come down during a wind storm. We agreed on $3800 for the job. I feel that I was overcharged because to start with they sent out 2 employees with minimal equipment to do a job that probably needed 3 or 4 men, Robert did not show and at no time came to check the work. In the end the men that were there didn't want to remove the limb over the neighbors, didn't have a clue what to do about the area where the limb had come down, didn't cut the branches back from the lines as much as I wanted, and left some dead stuff in the largest tree. I asked for the bill to be reduced by $500 since they wouldn't remove the limb, but no luck. Because they didn't send enough men to do the work, they had to come back the next day, but were in a hurry so they didn't do enough trimming on the largest tree that needed the most work. They also left a lot of bits of branches etc. on the ground. I picked up, cut up, and disposed of 2+ yard trash bags of bits. I'm giving them 3 stars because the 2 smaller trees look pretty good though I'll have to have them trimmed again sooner than usual. read more

I think that it might have been Mr. Dupree himself that came to look at my tree. I want to give the company kudos because of the young woman that took my original call, realized it was somewhat urgent and found a way to "squeeze me in" where they otherwise might not have been able, and which could be why, if he was Mr. Dupree, it was he that took the appointment....that said, when he arrived, he was arrogant, obnoxious, talked down to me, and when he said something I didn't understand, I said, I don't understand that and he said "I HAVE TOLD YOU THREE TIMES AND I'M NOT TELLING YOU AGAIN" AND LEFT MY HOUSE!!!!! read more

I don't normally write reviews, but I was so impressed by the professional job and attention to safety, I felt compelled to do so. I have been a volunteer with the Friends of the Sandia Mountains as a sawyer for a number of years, so I know what it takes to safely fell a tree. When faced with a bark-beetle killed 55-foot blue spruce in my front yard, I felt I should call in a professional. Robert came out, explained how he would remove the tree without having it fall on my house (a very desired outcome). He and his crew came out with the necessary equipment, climbed and limbed the tree, topped and felled the tree, ground the stump and cleaned up the area in about four hours. An altogether excellent job. I am having him come back and remove an old, ugly Siberian elm which is encroaching on our house as well. read more

Not only did he live up to his word of taking down the dead tree and dead limbing the live tree, he gave me tips on how to save the live tree. They also left my yard better than when they found it! I found Robert of Dupree's Tree service when he was working for a neighbor. He is a young man starting his own business. He is studying to be a certified arborist and is licensed and bonded. He came with a big crew and they were in and out quickly. The price was competitive with the other bids I received and they cleaned up nicely. I had a large limb from a locust come down during a windstorm and lay over my fence and onto my roof. Also a large branch came out of a 70 year old cottonwood. I needed to have the branches removed, and decided to have the cottonwood taken down and removed entirely. I also wanted to get a big box elder and an ash tree trimmed. Dupree's Trees quoted a fair price and was able to start within a couple of days. They did the job carefully and with particular attention to safety. Robert, the owner, is an engaging guy, communicates well and runs a tight ship. I'll use them again whenever the need arises. read more

Two years ago, Robert 'saved' two existing, mature but neglected lilacs, through careful evaluation and detailed discussion. Both are doing great! So is a fresher one, about 3 years old, planted by yours truly. This one is incredibly fragrant, presenting the fragrant character of the shrub in full bloom, well beyond expectations thank to Robert's professional advice to leave it alone except maybe for some light feeding and not over watering! His crew respectfully trimmed and slightly shaped an existing mature shade tree, removing two dead limbs, trimming and guiding one overhanging limb, opened up the interior to allow slightly more sunlight for the canopy to continue its balanced growth. His crew raked the remaining carpet of weeds (which I personally have visited each and every one since, and voilá, success at maintaining any remaining gravel! I hope for a return visit closer to Winter, 2022, just to keep it all growing. Perhaps asking for one or two tree plantings, too! read more
