Plenty of fun runs, and a decent amount of high speed lifts. The layout is a bit funky with some solid traversing and long runouts but overall still a good spot. We stayed in the village. Not much food that I know of in the village so we are down in the town of Durango. Had free days from a season pass from a partner resort so used those to my advantage. Great views and a pretty drive! In the words of the terminator, "I'll be back."

While some may think this a negative, I think it's hugely positive! The few times I've been, there is never really a crowd and the staff are so friendly. This is particularly a positive for a beginner snowboarder like me! The same company that owns Purgatory also recently bought Hesperus, so you can be assured you're skiing/boarding at a quality ski area. When you want more of a low-key day skiing or boarding, Hesperus is a great choice. They also have tubing and offer lessons and equipment rentals. They are also significantly cheaper than Purgatory.
