A-1 was one of the three companies I requested to come out and bid on the removal of a very large (80-ish feet tall) cottonwood tree that needed to be taken out. I had my idea of what the cost would be and was very pleased when 2 of the 3 companies (including A-1) came in under what I thought the cost would be, including stump grinding and haul away. Chris, the owner, Steve, her Lead, and I had a long conversation about trees, and Chris's horse rescue ranch, and life in general - they are both down to earth and completely easy to talk with - they are happy to explain things to someone like me who doesn't know all of the ins-and-outs of tree care. So, needless to say, I decided to ask A-1 to take the tree down. The job was scheduled to take place in a couple of days and the crew arrived exactly on time and from the beginning it was clear that they knew what they were doing. The tree came down rather dramatically (to me) - if you've not watched this happen before, plan to spend time looking up, watching the process with your mouth open - the workers are a combination of daredevil and precise artisan. I have another cottonwood tree that is not in as bad shape as the one that had to come down, and it will also need to come down as soon as I can afford it.
