With weeks until my home warranty policy expires, I call for service and am told to use "whoever I choose." I tried several companies who were either closed on Sunday, or said I'd have to wait until Monday. NOT pleasant news!! Fortunately I discovered Essential Heating & Air, who were on other A/C jobs, but was able to get to my home inside of 2 hours. Enid is in a heatwave and the house has hit 85°; as I'm thinking "I'm at my limit, feeling sick and the dogs are showing discomfort," Chance calls to say he's on his way. He diagnosed the issue very rapidly, fixed the A/C compressor and washed it down. Before he left, the house was cooling off beautifully. The wonderful coincidence is I found the perfect company...available on a Sunday, very familiar with, and on a first-name-basis with my warranty company, so he was really able to streamline the process with that company. Just 4 days ago, a neighbor across the street had the same issue, but used a different company, who gave him a discount. The total bill, including a weekend emergency fee, labor and parts, was still less than what my neighbor paid to his company.
