Dutch Dolls = superbest friends Nanna Koekoek and Geeske de Graaff = dynamic design and DJ duo.
The dolls met in 1999 at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam where they were studying illustration. They founded Dutch Dolls after graduating in 2004. Nanna and Geeske are music junkies - the main influence of their design work - and they named themselves after seventies glamrockers New York Dolls.
These things also inspire them: flea markets, folklore, biology, bad movies, and basically things that are just so wrong, that they become right again. They sell bags, T-shirts, gloves and PANTS with their strange little designs on.
They began DJing together four years ago. It started with drunken sets in friend's houses and slowly evolved into something more serious. Their sets are energetic and uptempo and include bootybass, breakbeats, hip hop, baltimore and dancehall, ravey stuff and the latest hits in the remix or mashed up. read more
