Please stop taking my review down. It is from a customer who had a bank account there for over two years. I am a real human that had a real problem with that and the problem was they are the only credit union/bank that says when you give authorization for somebody to pull money out of your account, they are not responsible for the amount they pull out story short I authorized accompany to take out $300 every week I would call every single week on a recorded line granting permission to take out 300 but then they would take out 600 or 900. Then when I go to Dutch point credit union they tell me that that is not the responsibility once you give someone access to your bank account, they could take out as much as they want. What !?!?! then with the attitude the lady at the Wethersfield branch asked me if I wanted to close my account or keep it open so of course I was frustrated and I said can I have my ID back? I will keep it open, but I got something for you. I'll let the Internet handle it and then my son I got banned from every branch. They called the police because it was a threat because I threatened to write a review online, which I did five minutes from leaving because like I said, I have been banking with them for a while now . So they knew that if they close my account that they would ruin peoples lives, so I promise you they will ruin your life. They will let people take as much money as they want out of your account and they will ruin your life. do not trust these people. I will post shots tomorrow to show you what I mean by taking more than they were supposed to then throw you in the negative and then I'm a single parent custody of my child does not care about your money . read more

I love DPCU. I always call them my "bank ladies"! They are all always so friendly and helpful. They always ask about my daughter and how my family is doing. I feel well taken care of with them. After going through this pandemic, I was finally able to enter the bank with my son. We were equally happy to see each other again! read more

I had a wonderful experience opening a share and checking account here in 2015, and found the staff to be very helpful. I prefer supporting a credit union over any of the big banks, and this is one of the ones I was eligible for. The credit union offers checking and savings accounts, a wide range of loans - including auto loans under 2% interest, retirement accounts, certificates, money market accounts, and credit cards. They have some odd policies - you can't deposit checks to your account via the phone app for several months after you join, and if you try, then your ability to do so is locked. When you want to set this up after you're eligible, you need your member number, which is different from your account numbers. They've missed out on a slew of deposits from me because of this. As you'd expect, the website isn't as polished as the websites for Chase of Wells Fargo (for example) are, but you can do whatever you need to - you can sign up for electronic statements, view statements, tax forms, and notices, and view them. You can apply for a loan, pay bills, transfer funds, order checks, and plenty of other things. read more

My ability to deposit checks via mobile was removed because of a modified check that I received. I do not work at a bank and I don't know the rules. I just signed and deposited. Because of this my ability to deposit via mobile was removed. When they told me this after I contacted them because I saw the money was not in my account they sent me a check copy, that I had to take to another bank to cash and then come back to Dutch Point to deposit. I didn't say I'm not using them for making me go through all that trouble but they took away my ability at ease of banking for something I didn't do. I used to be happy with Dutch Point. I left my bank, came to this credit union, have direct deposit, accounts for multiple family members, 3 current car notes, a paid off car note and was going to use them for some real estate. If this is how I'm treated, then good luck to anyone opening an account brand new. I know I'm not telling anyone else to use them for anything . Let me add this to be fair. They told me the ability was removed for now but to call back in a few months to see if they will put it back. Make it Make Sense someone. Nothing about me has changed, and that one check I received was a one time transaction but I have to call back and see if I can get access... smh. read more

I asked myself this each time I'd exit this place...Why these customer yelling at the counter about closing their account? Like each time I'd enter and wait in line, there would be someone telling at them, to close their account and then storm off. I'd always feel bad for the tellers working their. But here is why I close my account and leaving this place a negative review. First, this credit union was my side/part time banking, I have a full time banking that I use for majority of the time. They was nice at first telling you how different they are from the major name banks. How they don't have hidden fee etc. But a year in, WOW! A big regret, I was charge with ridiculous fees, no warning of an email, text, phone call or letter. Just each month take, take, take. And this was my savings, which I just deposit and leave it to generate some what of an interest, no withdraw nor debit. When I found out from my statements and trace back for how long they been doing this, I immediately took my money out fast, just left coin amount. Few days later I confronted them about their actions. They told me that its a fee, if I don't make a direct deposit on my account... I was like "Nope! Close my account NOW!...If you're that hungry for my money, keep the change." (but they gave me the remainder) Be careful of credit unions, sure "no hidden fees". So if a credit unions tells you that they don't stab people in the back, that's because they stab you in the front! Big regret, Bit waste of my time and money! read more

They have screwed up my car loan on several occasions even charging me $1400 for not having car insurance I no longer had. They get back to you when they feel like and tell you one thing and do another. read more

Stuck up women at the counter. They are rude and unfriendly. They act like you are inconveniencing them when they have to help you. Horrible. I will never go back to this bank. I hope they read this review and take a class in customer service. read more

I have been a member for 40 years and have never had a problem. Each time I opened an account for my children they would pick a big commercial bank when they went to college. Every one returned back to dutchpoint and now love the remote deposit app from their phone. I cosigned on all their auto loans and they were launched on their credit scores for future purchases. They handled my sons transactions while serving in Afghanistan seamlessly. Despite being a state employee I remained with Dutch Point because rates were better and service is superior. read more

Credit Unions typically have better interest rates and lower fees for the services offered. Dutch Point added fees over the years and the Visa card is no bargain either. Car loans are competitive but not exceptional. My local bank offered better services including free checking and ATM's. Additionally, Dutch point lost a twenty plus year customer, attitude problems with the bank tellers at the Berlin complex, they barley say hello and a few employees talk down to you if asked a question. after 40 plus years I will closing my account....was looking for a used truck a few months ago ...called the credit union to get the loan rates....after I found the right truck I and went to get a loan the rate doubled...got the loan at a much higher rate than was recently quoted....some how motor vehicle sent me the title...after Dutch point called me like I was at fault and made me look the a crook....there was plenty of funds to cover the small loan and I have had direct deposit for over 30 years and had a mortgage with them......traveled to the credit union and paid it off...like I had nothing better to do.... read more

Despite how I have used credit unions for my savings and checking needs almost my entire life, I must rate Dutch Point Credit Union with the lowest rating possible. Having done business with them for approximately 6 months, I will not continue to do so. The errors and failures of their teller, ofice manager, and regional supervisor, plus their nonstandard practices -- such as sending out notification letters that take fully 10 days to reach a customer! -- were self-serving and assured that they would be benefiting from fees assigned to my account, despite sufficient money being in my account at the time to cover checks written, and despite my coming into the West Hartford branch to rectify the entire situation and getting wrong information from a teller that directly led to additional fees. Subsequently, the branch manager provided additional wrong information resulting in her taking $667 from me, which I later learned was a complete error and again self-serving on the part of the institution. After writing three letters to Colette in the Wethersfield office, she reversed only 1/3 of the fees totaling approximately $300, ostensibly as a "courtesy" to me, while not fully accounting for clear errors on their part. This is not justifiable, and I have filed a formal complaint with the Dept of Banking. read more
