We used The Tax Return to do our 2017 taxes last year and they LOST all of our paperwork for…read moreseveral months. Then they finally found it again and filed our taxes but instead of sending us a copy of our FULL tax return for our records, all we got back from them was the first two pages of our 1040 and only ONE page of the two-page Schedule C. They don't even know how to scan documents correctly. The scan each page as a separate file instead of combining them into one PDF, which is NOT how a professional tax preparer would return electronic copies of your paperwork to you! Obviously, after they lost all of our stuff last year, we are NOT using them to file our taxes this year. But we need last year's complete Schedule C to file our 2018 taxes and have requested that they provide us with that. But now they aren't even responding to our emails. I strongly advise you to stay far, far away from The Tax Return unless you don't care if they lose your stuff and then don't even give you a full copy of your return when they're finished.

As an Investor with a 1099 in addition to my W2/ W4 the most I'm ever charged is $150 and I get a lot more money back since the taxes are filed properly here. Its well worth the extra 15 mile drive to come here every year. They set up direct deposit and subtracted the $150 from my tax return so that I did not have to pay anything out of pocket!
