I should probably not give Gavin and Duvateen sound such a good review as I don't want him to become so busy that he can't do my gigs where we need amazing quality live audio. That said maybe he'll throw me some kickbacks. In all seriousness Duvateen is an absolute joy to work with. Not only is the quality of the work and equipment absolutely top notch Gavin is a super nice guy who brings a great vibe to every gig. He is engaged in the show with the band the entire time. He's NOT a "set it and forget it" sort of sound guy. I hired Gavin and Duvateen to record a few songs when he was in San Francisco and got more than I hoped for. He's a musician and engineer and helped my songs sound better than I thought they could. He had drums set up and ready to record as well as piano and other instruments to play around with. I won't be able to articulate all the good things that can be said about Gavin and his Duvateen Sound and his studio in this review, but I'll give you the gist of it: First of all, Gavin is about the easiest and patient person you've ever worked with, which is no small feat considering the many, many, many details required and many, many, many retakes that are necessary to make your art sound the way you need it to. Through months of sessions, Gavin helped me transform a broken notebook of songs into a full length album. He engineered the thing meticulously, and his finishing mix is amongst the most common compliments I receive on the album. Gavin provided the A/V and sound for our wedding, and he was a true professional. So easy to work with, reasonably priced, and happy to accommodate all our wacky requests.
