    Green tea

Walked in with kids on a f3iday evening. Not very busy. Maybe 40% full. Took them 10 min to take our order. Beverages and chiense tea came out swiftly. So did the soup. Medium fancy decor.

Came here had a brunch with my classmate, had really good time! Just too hot without AC but the food is still pretty good! I remember the first time came here, still pretty happy to finally got dim sum! Looking forward to go again!

    pecking duck

Don't order the Peking duck here! Don't try it! We ordered half duck for take out and that's what we got, about 150 grams of meet. If it was "half duck", the duck must die of starvation. It's not only too less, but tasted terrible. We called the place and they promised to refund $20 thru our credit card (the dish was $49, which was ridiculous expensive with its quality), but we never received the fund since they didn't know how to operate the POS. Besides the duck, the rest of dishes didn't taste well neither. Overall, I won't be back to this place again.

Food was tasty. Eyelash found in tripe dish. Guy tried to give us leftovers. Prices are not available unless you ask. FYI here are the prices.

Cockroach in tea. Becareful when you come here. Have a look inside your tea pot.

I was shocked to find after drinking my tea that I found a cockroach. Not sure how this happened but I'm not not happy at all. The server took the tea away as if it was nothing and didn't apologize. Nothing was done after I'm very dissapointed with how this restaurant is managed. Would not reccomend and if you plan to go please consider looking inside your tea pot.

The food is generally fine. Just be warned: "beef belly" is tripe, not the cow equivalent of "pork belly" :)

Food (2.75/5) - extensive selection of 50 or so dim sum items to choose from. - Har Gow (Shrimp Dumplings) - pretty standard dish and was fine. - Cheung Fun (Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll) - was pretty weak. The umami soy sauce lacked flavour and the roll was a bit chalky. - Beef Short Ribs - were not good at all. Lots of gristle, bone and fat with little meat. Lacking flavour as well. - Baked Egg Tarts - average overall... not flaky enough and bit dry... custard filling was average. Service (3.5/5) - they were pretty quick with getting the order but was average turnaround on getting the order. Direct to the point order, bill, etc. which is common with these places. Atmosphere (3.75/5) - fair amount of tables and the overall decor and furnishings are fine and not aged. Overall (3.25/5) - an option if you are looking for an all day dimsum place off-times however found the food disappointing and will not repeat.

It was so packed but my brother was able to save a table while I did the ordering. This was a very casual and self service type of restaurant in which you can order at the front desk or at their kiosk. They had a limited time "promotion" going on in which you can order a maximum of 2 orders of their xiaolongbao or steamed mini soup dumplings for $2.99 with a minimum spend of $10. But honestly, I've seen this promotion since last year so I'm thinking it's actually a permanent offer. We ordered two orders of their pan fried pork buns, 1 order of their pan fried chicken dumplings, and 2 order of their promotional steamed mini soup dumplings. I thought everything tasted pretty good. The pan fried buns and dumplings were very crispy and quite juicy. My only nitpick is that I wished they put some kind of veggies or chives in their filling. It was just meat and felt too 1 dimensional for me. The steamed mini soup dumplings was actually really good though which is such a surprise at this price point. The outer layer was very thin and the filling was packed with soup. It was very delicious and hearty. Are these the best Chinese dumplings and bun's I've ever had ? No, but they were great especially for the price point. I would definitely come back again next time I am craving Chinese dumplings and buns. Also they take Amex which is always a plus in my book.

The individual New Century slow boiled soup is hardest to share but secure some empty bowls and you can divide the hefty portion. In the winter, there's a silkiness to the piping hot consommé that sooths a dry throat and has an umami essence infused with abalone, ginseng, and pork. There's plenty to choose from in the house signature combo platter including roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork, pork slices, and seaweed salad. Saving my stomach for the later dishes, I had a taste of the duck (a good start with crispy skin) and BBQ pork (satisfactory and well flavoured). With the generous portion of chicken in the combo platter, the slow cooked chicken with abalone broth seemed like overkill. I've never been a huge fan of this dish that's served cold since I prefer chicken hot. Still, I understand it's the jelly layer between the skin and meat that people enjoy. And to be fair, the chicken was tender, and New Century certainly didn't skimp on the ginger and scallion oil. For those who tend to fill-up before the "main dishes", the stars of the combo arrive mid-meal. The stir-fried Vancouver crabs with silver fish in HK style spicy sauce needs to be eaten at arrival as the crunchy coating is best straight from the fryer. And despite not looking spicy, the dish has a light heat that permeates in the background. Additionally, the crab was fresh and meaty, cooked well so it remained delicately flakey. The amount of sweet and sticky sauce used in the stir-fried lobsters with scallion in Maggie sauce was well balanced, lightly covering the crustaceans. Both lobsters were substantial; even after eating many pieces, we still had plenty of leftovers. This is a long review head to Gastro World for the rest.

The steamed fish was also delicious. I enjoyed the complementary dessert which included sweet red bean porridge, cookies, and jelly. For dim sum, definitely DO NOT purchase the rice noodle in supreme fish soup and mushroom. It tasted like water cooked with mushroom and had no taste or fish flavor and a waste of money. The mango sago wasn't that good either and only came with a tiny bit of ice cream. Dim sum was pretty crowded, so would recommend booking a table for large groups. I enjoyed the abalone and chicken congee as well as the mustard green, clam, and preserved egg congee. The abalone on the abalone su mai was a bit overcooked and chewy since it's been heated too long. I liked the chicken feet, beef tendons, and ribs.
