I returned a few minutes later and turned to the worker. She had the card but I was told I was leaving without paying (?!). I paid again (!). It was only when I returned from the Netherlands that I noticed that I had to pay twice for one purchase. More: it's no answer for my letter from Jumbo (!).

The staff is very friendly and helpful, prices are reasonable, and it's clean with plenty of variety. Heads up: we have to use cash here. Like many other stores in Diemen, they do not accept credit cards of any kind, and would also not accept our debit (visa-issued) cards. They do accept Maestro debit cards (which are European and we don't have). So come with cash!

As I walked around the store I noticed prices were very reasonable. As a traveler I've find it easy and fun to check out local markets and what they have to offer. This place did not disappoint. You'd be crazy to ignore the ice cream temptation here, it's so yummy! During winter they switch to become Stamppotje, and sell another traditional Dutch dish called stamppot, which is a mashed potato stew served with vegetables and sausages. I notice they recently added to the menu an awesome veggie burger. What I loved about the veggie burger is that it had no soy ingredients. Plus it tasted so good. I was so disappointed that I did not get more then one that night. I even considered getting back on my bike to pick up another one, but the cold just held me back on making another trip outside.

In an area where you can get Surifood around every corner (literally), this place is always packed. Last time I ate at this place was 7 years ago (used to work near Bijlmer Station and frequented the place at least once a week) and I was recently delighted to find out they have literally stepped up their game: Brouwerij 't IJ beer in the fridge and a unparalleled (except maybe only to Roopram) roti production line in the front. If you are a Surifood enthousiast (which I am), happen to work in the area (which I did) or just happen to be around or within travel distance, this place is worth the visit.
