I worked for this company and I can tell you firsthand that it is a very shady practice and their methods of acquiring clients are very, VERY predatory. The company downloads thousands on thousands of phone numbers from an online database and sends unsolicited calls to anybody they can early as 8 AM (even calling businesses and renters on holidays) in order to rope in clients by offering a special free estimate (which is standard practice). If you do choose to accept the free estimate, they will try to overcharge and upsell you on any sort of home remodeling projects you're considering due to the small size of the company. From a worker's point of view, the company will hide information on the jobs you confirm and will threaten your job security once a week if you do not get 2 potential jobs per day. This unfortunately leads to the harassment of many Houston citizens through desperate callbacks for months on end and even giving misleading information about the company's status with the Better Business Bureau. There are cockroaches and bugs living throughout their showroom and the owner, contractors, and most of upper management do not speak English as well. All in all, this company is very unorganized yet uncomfortably persistent when it comes to finding clients and will often overcharge clients who are in desperate need remodeling and do not have time or resources to find a second opinion. If you do come in contact with them or happen to receive an unsolicited call, I strongly suggest finding another contractor to save you from a headache/wasting your time. I would even make sure to block the number because they will not stop calling if you don't. read more

As many of you in Houston experienced the hardships of "the freeze", I came across a very reliable contracting company. E & L Star construction was able to start immediately in the repair of my home. The best part of E & L Star construction was they went back to my insurance company and actually got a substantial amount of money for me in the repair to my home. I don't believe I would've been able to do that on my own. Jakob Pahima made me feel confident in my choices of products when I actually had no idea of what I had to do. I lost all my ceilings in the kitchen, living room, master closet, and master bathroom. When I look at it now you'd never know I had any damage at all. As I look at my kitchen with upgrades, I am so pleased with everything that this company did. They are insured and bonded and all work is warranted. The owner Eiden is ABSOLUTELY probably one of the worse people I have ever worked with, he would demand money and threaten to stop work if it wasn't given in a timely manner even if i was holding it because I wanted certain things fixed properly before I would give the money. The amount of overcharging he did was outrageous. He is a snake and his company is out to rip people off. I'm not even sure the people he brought in were professionals. Our wiring was done incorrectly. He over charged us for everything. Gave a "half hearted " quote at the beginning that didn't even include everything we wanted or needed done and then wanted to add it on at the end. Our porch was extremely over priced and they didn't even do it the way that I had told him I wanted it and then when I explained that to him he said that we signed off on it which never happened and screamed and cussed at my husband called him all kinds of names. I hired E&L Star Construction to redo my outdoor Patio and re-roofed the entire house, the experience was easy., they came out gave me a great quote and an estimate on the time it would take to complete. Their guys were in and out in 1 week. We are very happy with the work and would highly recommend their service. The workers were polite, cleaned up after the job was done, our project manager came by to check on the work and to make sure we were satisfied. Eidan was initially very personable and sounded eager to meet our home renovation needs on a substantial project. He and his co-owner seemed knowledgeable and indicated their expertise at the work we needed done. However, we ran into problems when we looked into their background and previous work. The problems arose as we attempted to pause the progress to dig deeper. My wife and I were in the process of signing a contractual agreement with E&L Star construction, Inc. When a few disturbing issues came to light. We decided to stop the process and take a closer look before moving ahead. Unfortunately, we had gone as far as to send an earnest check and set a start date for beginning work. As per the written agreement paperwork, I contacted the company by letter requesting a refund of our initial check. This was done the day we sent the check, well within the 3-day period stated in the company's agreement paperwork. To this date 11/03/20, we have still not received our refund check even though we followed their contract requirements, exactly. We may need to file suit against the company to get our money back, causing additional insult to injury. This company is under review by the BBB for non-refunded earnest money. The principle, Eiean Kazaz was personally contacted the day the cancellation request was mailed. Two attempts to contact by written and mailed notice have gone unanswered. It has been four weeks since the last attempt at contact. For this reason, and others, the better business bureau has been contacted, and is currently looking into the matter as of 10/26/2020. At this time I cannot recommend this company to do any work related to home renovation. I would caution anyone about hiring this company and recommend you look into their background closely. Please for your sake, avoid this company like the plague!!!! I hired this company to remove a wall in my living room and repaint the entire inside of my house. Let me say, that was a terrible mistake! I never write reviews however I felt it my duty to help others not get scammed by these people. First of all this project was supposed to take 7 to 10 days, they took 3 weeks to complete it! As they were working I would find big mistakes, like the floor they replaced after removing the wall being completely unlevel, drywall patches completely visible, paint and dust all over my house! Each time I would call the owners of this company about a problem they were very argumentative and of no help. After they "finished" with the work it cost me an additional $1100 to have my house cleaned and the paint removed from my floors. Some of which the professional floor cleaners were unable to remove.
