two trays of sushi on a table

My new fave spot for sashimi! Was craving for sashimi one night and found this place. At first I was a bit wary cause of some reviews but decided to just go for it. Got the sashimi deluxe, the salmon sashimi set (15 pcs), and some pieces a la carte. They were absolutely fresh! Thick cuts, and at the perfect temperature too. Haven't tried any of the other menu items though, but this place will def be my go to for sashimi.

    Beef Negimaki

I'm extremely disappointed in my order from this restaurant today. Not only was it delivered over 40 minutes late, it was not hot at all, and the quality of beef is so fatty. I was so hungry that I decided to eat it anyways until I found a HAIR IN MY food. I would give this place 0 stars if I could.

Sushi and Sashimi Combo For 2

After walking past this place a million times, we finally went in for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised! We ordered the sashimi appetizer and the sashimi meal for 2. Both were beautifully plated and had a nice selection. The fish was fresh! The rolls and nigiri didn't have too much rice, which is awesome. We'll definitely go back.

Love it here. Always fresh, great service. A low key small atmosphere with fast service and place I go to here and there. Never had a bad experience.

    California Roll Spicy Tuna Roll

Ordered from this place last night and was content after having this, shrimp shumai and miso soup for dinner. Couldn't finish all of it, but it's all good bc I have the leftovers for lunch the next day. I like the fact that the rolls are 8 pieces and not 6, like most places. Also, the spicy tuna had a little crunch to it which made it better. The shumai was standard, but on the good side and the miso was just okay. Overall, this is a decent sushi spot and I'll be coming back here!

Chicken on our vegan hot and sour soup.

Me and my wife ordered a few vegan options from this place. On the first time that we ordered a hot and sour soup we were surprised that was eggs on the mix but not on the menu description. We were upset, but decided to give another try. A few days ago we ordered the same item and asked for no eggs - but this time we were surprised with big pieces of chicken in the bottom of the soup. We had to throw everything away and got us sick. We are never ordering from this place again.

We were looking for a sit down Chinese restaurant in the area so, like any self respecting yelper, I turned to Yelp! I came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. What got my attention was that they have Thai, Chinese, and Japanese food here! When we got there on a Friday night, the place was packed! They asked us to wait two minutes and then led us to the back of the restaurant where there was a small booth tucked away behind foldable doors. It was really cool! I loved it. Next time, I'll take a pic so you have a visual of what I'm trying to explain lol We ordered crab rangoon, soup, edamame, vegetable gyoza, and spring rolls as apps. Everything was tasty. For our entrees I ordered beef and broccoli, coconut shrimp, and another entree that slipped my mind. My order was the coconut shrimp which was good but was a little too liberal with the mayo in their sauce. I'd definitely order something different next time. My hubby liked his food and we'd definitely be back.

This is a little too grey and fishy-smelling for my taste, I threw it out.

First, the owners are some of the kindest, most thoughtful hosts you could hope to meet. You can feel how much they care about their community the moment you walk in. They've also made real efforts to make the space accessible for different bodies, which is something that far too few restaurants consider. That level of intention and hospitality truly stands out. And then there's the food -- absolutely phenomenal. Every dish feels intentional, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Standouts for me: Shrimp Toast - the best I've ever had. Perfectly crisp, rich, and balanced. Duck - deeply flavorful and cooked to perfection. Ribs - tender, savory, and incredibly satisfying. Char Siu - sweet, smoky, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Eggplant - unbelievably delicious and a must-order. Monkey King is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. (Terrace was closed due to winter). There was a DJ booth upstairs as well which led me to believe the place might turn into a club/lounge. Lots of seating everywhere. The crowd was mild when we arrived with a few birthdays observed. As the day went on the crowd was a bit more lively. The food looked quite delicious as my friends ordered steak and eggs and an English Muffin dish with poached eggs and fries. Good sized portions for the price. However, my French Toast was less than desired. Three sad little pieces of a faux brioche bread that was served cold. No salad on the plate as you can see from the picture. This was my meal for the day and not satisfying at all. Our waitress was very nice and did her due diligence EXCEPT for our water service. We ordered water and she did not specify that there was a charge for it. When our bill came and we asked about it, she stated that we "asked for flat water not tap water". I did not recall her stating there was a charge. She assumed we wanted flat BOTTLED water and charged us for it. Not good service since she was not being transparent. Bathrooms were clean. The place is definitely a vibe. If you are looking for views of the city and overpricing in Queens, this is your place. I would have to weigh my options prior to a second visit as I can't say it would be my first choice.
