His calm demeanor and his profound inner peacefulness permeates his entire being and spills over into the whole atmosphere of his state of the art offices in downtown westport. He is so intune with people on so many different levels and it's very sublte and unassuming. He is a role model for so many of the children who frequent his offices. He models the "right relationship" with correct "boundaries" during the sessions and this kind and gentle way affects and ripples into all other outside toxic relationships that his clients and patients come to him in depseration and crisis to "fix". He is a strengthener of the positive aspects of a person rather than an exposer of the weak areas of a person. I have seen the results of this in many of the clients he treats. I have met with people who have referred to themselves as therapists, ministers, pastors, and counselors. Not one of them has had the "gift" of compassion and care that Nicholas has. Instead their reviews would all get a minus 5 stars. Possibly Nicholas is just a nice person who genuinely loves people and helping them get stronger in their inner life to face the hassles of everyday life...and this in itself makes the others look weak and inefficient. I strongly encourage people to step out of their pain and uncertainty and make an appointment with Nicholas, who can truly help.

When I first contacted Trevor, I was in the middle of a volatile divorce. A friend of mine urged me to call her saying that I just hadn't met the right therapist yet. I reached out during one of my lowest points. Trying to navigate through all of my emotions, I was feeling alone, scared and terrified. My initial contact with her was amazing! She was responsive immediately, calling right away and allowed me the time to explain where I was at and what prompted me to call her. She totally got it! I felt at ease from the moment that we spoke and that I was in the right place. My sessions over these years have been life altering. She has been there every step of the way. She is attentive, compassionate and kind. She genuinely cares. I'm grateful for this amazing soul therapist!

I went there for depression and a dependency to pain killers. First, the grounds are beautiful and relaxing. It doesn't make it feel like a mental hospital. I have never seen any hospital with grounds as amazing as Silver Hill's is. It makes you feel warm and welcomed. Second, the staff are amazing. Everyone at intake was very nice and accommodating. The process was quite quick too. As soon as I was brought to the unit (Main 3) I was greeted with a very happy nure who was very nice. I came to the unit crying and she spent time with me to calm me down. Then, there was a psych tech who gave me a tour of the unit and gave some helpful advice. My doctor, the nurses and psych techs were all wonderful people. My doctor took the time to expain my diagnosis and my medication. I asked to be put on an anxiety med that I had before and she was fine doing that. She checked in with me everday. There were groups everyday, all day long. I listened, participated, asked questions and took notes. The psych techs would run a group at night where we would say if we met our goals for the day, why we didn't and what can we do better next time. I was able to get off the unit to go to the gym and outside for breaks. You are also allowed to use the inside pool. By day 3 I was feeling so much better. I left feeling like a new person and I still refer to all the notes I took while there. Silver Hill hospital helped me more than any other hospital did. The social worker was on top of his game and gave me an excellent after care plan. The quality, compassion and professionalism I received from the doctor and nurses and techs was top notch. It isn't a country club but I can see how people would view it that way if they're coming from state hospitlas. As far as money is concerned, our insurance paid for my whole stay so we just had to pay a $1,500 deductible. If you have bad insurance I can see why you'd be upset and blame the hospital but they have no control over insurance. They allowed me to pay my deductible over a period of several months so they are accommodating. I've been to New York Presbyterian Westchester in White Plains and let me tell you, Silver Hill is way above them. At NYP there were no groups. You basically just sat and watched tv all day and you saw your doctor every 3 days. The only complaint that I have is that the houeskeeping staff kept taking our coffee in the morning. We only get 1 canister of coffee with caffeine a day and they took it upon themselves to pour themselves a cup of coffee.
