I stopped services with them on April 30, 2025. They have since billed me for services on May 1, 2025, as well as, two past dates (which coincidentally is the same amount as the so-called May 1 service). I would very much like to update my review. I should have done it much sooner. This was a while back and shame on me for not doing this right away. After I posted my honest expierence, the manager or maybe the owner reached out to me privately to help turn this into a positive expierence. What impressed me the most is that I see a lot of companies respond to a negative review here on yelp, which is fine. Everyone sees the company try to save face. This gentleman did not do that. He didnt do it to publicly save face. He did it solely for the customer. For me. It wasn't all show. I hope that makes sense. I was truly impressed. I had already taken another route already, but would have absolutely gone with this company otherwise. They did what was morally right, not what looked good to everyone else. Today, 25 April, I found out that no water was coming to our Pool 2 bathroom, Spa or Pool. Talking to Matt, our Pool tech, he told me he turned off our pool equipment, to prevent it from burning up without water. After taking several hours of trouble shooting Bill Baker, President of our HOA, determined someone had turned off the water to pool 2 . Once the water was turned back on, Matt was able to quickly turn on the equipment so the pool would be available for the weekend. Very transparent during the sales transaction with no hidden fees and included some high-quality accessories. She went above and beyond after the sale, answering questions on her days off, and doing everything in her power to earn a very satisfied return customer. Jacob, installation and maintenance technician, provided top-notch service. He is very knowledgeable and was able to easily set up our spa as requested. He provided honest assessments, feedback, and recommendations so we could have the best spa experience possible. We relocated to Tucson in September, and have been using E-Konomy pools since that time . Our technician Jon goes above and beyond each week to keep our pool looking great and advises us of any potential issues . He is kind and courteous and professional. We did have a recent miscommunication with the main office over a maintenance issue , a repair we needed apparently for lost in the shuffle , but when we called to report this , they promptly made it right and waived the labor charges for our trouble. Very good customer service which is not a given anymore , so is appreciated! read more

Nick at economy pools is the best very polite and works really hard every time he cleans our pool

I have used this business to replace and upgrade my pool pump, and they did a professional job. I stop in to have my water tested, and they are willing to share their knowledge and get me educated on the proper care of pool water. I purchase all my products from them, and I get reasonable prices. They do honor military service with small discounts. They are nice people and are straight shooters. I have walked in to just ask a question or discuss my problem and they help and I don't even have to purchase anything. The sharing of their knowledge has saved me having to pay a monthly service to upkeep my pool. My water is perfect and if it's not their guys will help get it right. read more

In reading the other reviews, looks like they are good at weekly maintenance. That being acknowledged, they we a nightmare to deal with in finding and repairing a leak in my pool. Originally they were very responsive but as began to question why 5 people were in my yard staring at my pool, I was told that the first "fix" that they did, led them to believe that the skimmer had a problem which led to another "fix." I paid for the first half of the original "repair" and was waiting on an invoice for the second "repair" to pay my balance. I wanted to have an invoice that stated WHAT work had been done. In the meantime the pool continued to leak and we made numerous calls to the company that were unanswered. The last straw was my bank account was debited for the balance, although I did not authorize them to do so. Luckily, I keep my banking tight so I noticed and was able to transfer $ from my savings to my checking to keep from being charged overdraft fees. I sent emails in November, beginning of January and the end of January. Since the pool was still leaking, I hired a new company to find and fix the leak. They found and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently and noticed that some of the work done by your company was done incorrectly AND it caused a pipe to completely crack open between the motor and the filter. That then resulted in the motor being blown. So $5k and 9 months later, the pool is fixed (approx $3200 paid to your company). read more

Re-located to Marana and purchased a home with a pool. The Pool Spa needed repair and it was completed. The repair service came with a " Trial " service from E-Konomy Pool Service to get the system backup and running again. The service rep was polite and informative. Unfortunately, the technician failed to check the pool equipment integrity and did not run a complete check of the system. Long story short, the cover to the pop-up mechanism was not installed correctly and when activated, leaked excessively. There were pieces of cement a rock at the bottom of the Spa and not removed by the technician. I called E-Konomy and asked for system to be re-checked. E-Konomy refused to return and correct the error unless I paid for an additional service call. I would HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND this company. read more

This company offers sub-standard service and then defends it. Their customer "service" employees are belligerent and unaccommodating. They have been switching off our spa and then saying they didn't do it, but we know they did bc they were the only people with the code and it always happened on the days they came. When I contacted their customer service, they would do nothing to fix the situation. Sometimes they would come and not vacuum or treat the spa with the right chemicals and it would go sour between visits. So, we canceled them. read more

The service tech even left the skimmer disconnected once, and another time took a picture of the wrong house - literally got an email from someone else's pool as proof of service.. I called and spoke with Dapo, the company owner, who was nothing but rude and unapologetic. Because I was not in town, they thought they could just rip me off and, well, they did. When we bought our house, E-Konomy was maintaining our pool. Peter always did a great job (neighbors still love him), but my husband learned how to maintain the pool. So we are now using E-Konomy for our pool testing. We've had a few hick-ups here and there in do-it-yourself land, but Marcelle, the head tester has given us the best advice and our pool is back in shape. He explains everything and tells you exactly what to do when. We had a few issues kick-starting things for summer (we have a salt cell and pool, so it requires a bit of tweeking). Marcelle gave us excellent advice and everything was back in synch in a few short weeks! These folks are locally owned and are invested in being the best, and they are. They explain everything and they never push product on you. Marcelle even gave us a tip that could extend our water life up to 12 years! Refilling a pool is very expensive! I'm 67 yrs young with a slight limp. Purse and keys in one hand and dog leash in the other. I'm the only shopper in the store and quickly grab my products and get to cashier counter. My items and not heavy but awkward to balance with hands full. The cashier pushes them in my direction and apologizes for not having a bag. Again, I'm the only one in the store and there are 3 able bodied men behind the counter doing nothing. We old ladies are fond of saying " in my day one of those men would have offered to carry my purchase to my car." I've been trying to get a hold of someone -anyone to get some answers. The weekly cleaner comes out but cannot answer questions. Spends about 30 minutes then leaves. BE AWARE THAT E-KONOMY POOLS HAS PURCHASED OTHER POOL COMPANIES IN THE TUCSON AREA! -Be sure when establishing service with a new pool company that it's NOT owned by OR associated with the owners of E-KONOMY!!! -Let's begin with my 80 YEAR OLD DISABLED widowed mother who used E-KONOMY Pools and was taken advantage of. -Charged for chemicals not used -Paid to have pool drained, power washed, tiles cleaned and PROMISED that this special tile chemical they charged her extra monthly for would prevent the calcium build up from coming back! Well you guessed it! It came back to which E-KONOMY Pools response was that they "didn't guarantee it wouldn't come back" and stated that the pool tiles weren't being maintained! WHAT? ‍ She paid E-KONOMY Pools for weekly service including brushing the tiles and pool, chemicals and services which were ALL part of the job and maintenance she was promised! -E-KONOMY Pools stated they would be happy to come give her a quote to have her tile cleaned...again...WHAT?‍ Yet E-KONOMY POOLS has NEVER missed a monthly withdrawal from her account! Not to mention she hasn't been able to get into her pool for years-but just wants to keep it beautiful and maintained. -Ring Camera recorded Technician entering her backyard and leaving 10 minutes later. Once again not brushing pool nor checking chemical levels. Pool left with algae growing on sides when inspected. SHAME ON YOU E-KONOMY POOLS and your ridiculous excuses! What other Elderly and Disabled persons are being taken advantage of by this company? Unbelievable and absolutely not ok! Then there's our pool: -EVERY SUMMER...EVERY SUMMER- Pool Technicians falsifying documentation related to services rendered (and verified as falsified by Supervisors following up that Technician had lied). -Being told when lodging a complaint with E-KONOMY that GPS showed Technician at our address for 30 to 40 minutes. That is until our cameras showed Technician parked out front of our home for 20 minutes on their phones then coming into backyard for 10 to 15 minutes of service which showed them NOT brushing the sides, nor testing the chemical levels, nor backwashing which are the services we pay for on top of chemicals. -Now don't get me wrong-Fall, Winter, and Spring there's really nothing to do except check the balance...during those months we haven't expected nor asked the Technician to backwash except maybe once a month if needed but yet we pay the same amount all year. Not a problem-BUT do the job when we really need it during the SUMMER! -Camera recordings of Technician lowering pool water level then taking a picture and sending it to the company stating "water level in pool too low to backwash" so he didn't have to do it. -Been charged TWICE in one month for services and over charged for chemicals. -Continuous company turnover -Asked NUMEROUS times for quote on sand replacement for filter and NEVER received a response. These are just a few of the FRUSTRATING events without writing a book! We all work hard for our money and expect to get services agreed upon-not with this company where you're having to beg for good and fair service! Finally called the office to hear "we have you on the schedule for Friday", to which I responded would not work as I would be out of town. They rescheduled me for today. Again, waited all afternoon. Ordered a beautiful bullfrog hot tub from this location! Things were a little rough on the manufacturing side and some unforeseen set backs happened. I was pretty frustrated through out the process- but now that we have had our hot tub for a month now, we are extremely happy. E Konomy was patient with our frustrations and have really had great customer service! They got us in for the delivery of the hot tub ASAP! And we're friendly through out the entire process! Tom D... Don't try to cover up. You say multiple visits at no charge...why would one be expected to pay for your continued mistakes. You had to come out to fix new pool deck after multiple cracks appeared shortly after, you covered pool full tap, your tech never backwashed per agreement, your tech never checked chlorine levels per agreement, pool coating blotches in our pool and the list goes on. Why would you expect the customer to pay on top of what they've paid? Very strange business belief you are displaying. "Multiple Credits"? Only received one the other day because I paid for the entire month and relationship was severed because you were getting multiple complaints regarding your unprofessional pool techs that you handled the way you did. By all means, my desire is not to waste my time talking about the poor service you provide, but only to let others know what they are getting into. Ever since new owner came in, quality of service has decreased dramatically. This is evident due to the number of complaints. Like you, we all work hard for our money. When you pay for a service you have the right to question if you feel you are not being provided with the proper service. As a business owner, you would think that you would want to know when things aren't correct. Yes, been with E Konomy for quite some time and not all has been bad. I support many local businesses and all but you listen to their customer concerns as well as positive comments. You might want to learn a thing or two from Richard M. He has been professional in his correspondence with me and in return he has earned respect. So please take the time to ask him how to properly respond to customer needs. *Very nice person at the store where I had my pool water tested. *However, he informed me that new equipment will be coming in to give a complete reading. The reading done at the time, gave some incomplete and some false information. *Also, I made an appointment for a tech ~ I thought ~ to come over to see my pool and evaluate what needs to be done to balance the water, if I hire this company for weekly cleaning, a free service for the eval. *However, upon checking, that would cost almost $200! *The eval would be done by an estimator who would NOT do this, but tell me about the pump, etc, equipment, what the weekly cleaning includes, etc. DARN GOOD THING I CALLED TO CHECK! I don't really do reviews much but I feel I need to try and let people know about my dealings with E-Konomy Pool Service. Horribly run company with horrible turnover, horrible quality of service, and cannot be trusted to do the services you pay them to do. 4 long stressful years working with this company. Wrongfully charged multiple times for no work (no show/no work/fully charged) and half-ass work (ex. brushing the sides of my pool with the leaf skimmer, not testing the water & just adding chemicals, filters & pump not cleaned, etc.). I have cameras on my house & have witnessed and video recorded more instances than I can count of ineptitude, unprofessionalism, and dubious behavior. I have had multiple supervisors come to my house multiple times to see my videos, prove that their service techs are not doing their job, hearing my frustration. I have had multiple calls with E-Konomy management (Steve/Branden/others) where I practically have to fight for proper compensation for improper charges or reimbursement for services not rendered. I am a very nice and reasonable person with a nice little pool who is strongly recommending that you look for a different pool service company than E-Konomy as they cannot be trusted or counted on to do what they say or are supposed to do. Their chemicals, service, repair, and parts are also very over priced. Shopping around will do you well. If you decide to use them, you really need good surveillance equipment and should really think about being home for every service when they come to document or video the service to ensure that it is done properly or have the video evidence to show that it wasn't. Video's were very helpful for me in making my case and showing E-Konomy management exactly how services were not being done, that I was charged multiple times for chemicals that were not used, etc. Also be prepared to have 2-6 different techs at your house every year as the turnover of their over-extended techs is ridiculous. From my experience, E-Konomy seems to care much more about getting their customers money than they do about their customers, their integrity, and their quality of service. Not the way to run a business and recommend that you take your business to another pool service company. Less hassle & more good honest service. read more

Crooks.. quoted lots of things that didn't need fixed. Paid them $130 for a quote. My husband fixed it himself that day after they left for $28. My pool lights and backyard landscaping lights were not working. Called our pool company, as this had happened before in 2019. They couldn't get to us, so they recommended E-Konomy Pools. Made a repair appt. They informed us of the $130 fee, and we agreed. The 2 techs showed up on 2/18. Was telling my husband our pool lights were bad, wasn't listening when we explained the landscape lights weren't working either. Said we needed a new power transformer and GFI. Charged us $130 and said they would provide a quote. I called the office after they left and explained to them that I didn't need a quote for pool lights etc.. This had happened before it's most likely the GFI like it was in 2019. She said she would call me back, never did. So my husband went to Ace hardware and bought a new GFI and fixed it $28. Today I get a quote for almost $500 + an optional quote for almost $2000 in lights. I feel like if we hadn't known what this issue was from before.. they would take is for over $2500. They are CROOKS! and bad at that.. they didn't even quote the right voltage of GFI.. yet I paid them $130??? For what?!?!? read more

Worst support ever. 2-1/2 years they installed a new pool heater for us. When it failed a month ago and was leaking excessively forcing us to shut down our entire system they could not even come out to look at the problem for two weeks. We asked if the unit was still under warranty since they claim to be an authorized warranty agent for Pentair, they said they would have to send out a special technician to determine if warranty would cover the repair. Never did they mention the unit only had a two year warranty and not a three year warranty as originally thought. Instead they kept us waiting two weeks, then sent a basic technician out who spent 3 minutes taking off an outer panel and basically said "we never get these covered by warranty." And to top it off yesterday we received notice they charged our credit card on file $130 for this unnecessary visit. Icing on the cake was we had to contract with another firm to isolate the broken heater in order run our pump and filter. That firm pointed out how Ekonomy had incorrectly installed the heater in the first place. This is by far the worst service we have received in Tucson. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. read more
