I recently moved down to Newport from Los Angeles and needed a local dry cleaner. I was referred to Eagle by an associate of mine at my firm here in Orange County. When I tell you that this is the best dry cleaner I have ever been to, I genuinely mean it. The owners are a local Orange County couple who are absolutely amazing. Andrea is one of the kindest people I have encountered in a long time and they genuinely care about what they do and the people that come to their business. Their prices are unbeatable and the quality is phenomenal. I never write yelp reviews but I was compelled to do so because I was not only beyond satisfied with the service I got. But I left happy, Andrea and I had a great conversation and I left there feeling like I've been going to their business for years. It was just that good feeling you get when people go out of their way to ask you how your day is or get to know your name. It makes all the difference. After a year or so of taking our clothes here with no problems, I dropped off a brand new dress; when my husband went to pick it up, it was completely ruined. They apologized and gave him a damage form, which I returned along with the dress and the receipt in early May. I've since gone in, called countless times, and texted to receive ZERO response from Andrea. She finally accidentally took my call, apologized and asked me to send these things again by text, since she couldn't find the dress or receipt and form I had dropped off. I texted photos of all of these immediately and she still hasn't responded weeks later...not even to my multiple "just confirming you received the images above?" inquiries. She said on the phone that she only works every other week (pretty sure a manager should be accessible more often, and cell phones seem to be readily available tools to help) and that she would cut me a check. But since she has gone completely dark. It's one thing to accidentally ruin a dress - that happens - but to choose to completely ignore a customer and not take accountability is completely unacceptable and pathetically unprofessional. I'd strongly caution you that they will not take accountability should an issue arise! I guess I ought to have read past the few positive ratings and duly noted their very low overall rating score before taking my clothing there. read more

My mother had her blouse ruined a hole put in it. She bought the blouse for 120$ and after initially the cleaner was going to pay 50$ dollars in compensation my mother agreed to compromise she had worn the blouse before. Then at the cleaners the person in charge called her liar and refused to pay, calling my 78 year old mother a liar is totally and cursed at her yelling m..fer at her. My mother had been a loyal customer for years. To curse at an elderly and loyal customer and accuse her of lying over a 50$ offer to compromise is outrageous behavior. read more

Only take items to this cleaners if you dont care about the outcome. Nothing I bring them comes back the way it was given them minus any slight stains which is the reason behind dry cleaning anyways. They stretch out my shirt collars two sizes bigger than my neck, leave ripples in the collars, destroy the tags inside the clothes returning the item to me with the tags literally hanging off, literally snag my sweaters with what and how is unknown. My shirts are stretched to the next size up. My husband mistakenly took a few designer items to them of which I cant stop crying over the botch job they have done on my clothes. They were very good at one time. Now they seem to not care at all. I am horrified. Have given them several chances but no more. You get what you pay for with this place. Very disappointed. read more

I am new to the area and went to this cleaners based on a recommendation from my neighbor. I can honestly say I have never had a worse experience. And maybe it was just bad luck as I am sure they have had many satisfied clients. As a small business owner myself I really wanted to give them a chance and even hesitated to write this review but if it somehow helps prevent this from happening to someone else then it is worth my time to give this honest account of what happened to me. I brought 9 items in on a Monday, I met the owner and she was very nice. She took all my things in and told me she was counting the belt that was part of my jumpsuit as one item. She told me my items would be ready on Wednesday evening. I came in to pick up on Thursday afternoon. The woman (not the owner) that was there working didn't seem to find my clothing right away, she went to the back and brought everything out but it was not wrapped yet so she hurriedly bagged it all. I was planning on wearing the jumpsuit that evening but when I got home I saw that it was not there. I called them right away and told them about the missing jumpsuit, the woman that answered put me on hold to go look for it, she came back on and told me she could not find it and I needed to call back to talk to the owner on the morning. I tried not to get frustrated because I figured it was just misplaced somewhere. However I was disappointed at how she seemed really flippant about it and did not ask to take my number down. The next morning I called several times but no one answered. Finally in the afternoon the owner picked up the phone and said she had my jumpsuit and was so sorry. She had set it aside because she couldn't find the belt. But it had been found and it was ready for pick up. I was so relieved as I had a dinner Saturday evening and I really wanted to wear this new outfit. I drove over to pick it up. Imagine my complete shock when I went to put on the jumpsuit Saturday evening and the belt was not there! You really can't make this stuff up! Since it was Saturday evening I was not able to call until Monday. When I was finally able to get thru the owner answered again and tried to tell me that she gave me the belt. I told her that wasn't the case. She hurriedly got off the phone and said she would go look and call me back. 20 mins later, she called and said she found it. So I made another trip there. At the end of the day, did they find the belt? Yes. But not without a lot of time wasted and of course me not being able to wear an outfit I was very much looking forward to wearing. It is first world problems, but if you are like me and care about your clothing and like to receive things on time as well as not worry about things getting lost I would suggest finding a different cleaner. read more

This is a good spot for dry cleaning easy stuff. This is not the place for specialty items (i.e. Suede, beaded or sequined) nor anything with a tricky stain. It is also super affordable and no mark up for women's clothing. Let's face it there are clothes that say dry clean only that probably could be hand washed but who am I to chance it (Ella Moss and splendid Cotten tops I am talking about you!). It's this sort of thing I bring here. In 8 years they have lost one item of mine and I dry clean a lot of stuff. I have had worse luck with other cleaners. The people who work here are super nice and there is rarely much of a wait. I do bring more expensive or speciality pieces to another dry cleaner, I will admit that. For the most part through, this place does the trick. Note: you have to pre pay (keeps prices down) and hold on to the receipt. This place stays cheap because it doesn't have any fancy computer system. Also they don't do a great job on tricky stains so send those elsewhere. I have ALL Zegna Suits. Not just any Zegna Suits, but top-end 51% silk / 49% wool blends. I have them from multiple years. At first they were called "Silk and Wool", then "Trofeo Silk", the latest Trofeo Silk suits are made of only 15% silk and 85% wool. Zegna has one level of custom fabric called "15 milmil 15 silk". This Silk/Wool blend is again, 51% silk, however the wool here is Super 160s. These suits are all shades of gray with herringbone, pindot, sharkskin and violet pinstripe. Make no mistake, the Zegna 51% Silk suits are far beyond any Kiton, Brioni, Canali or any smaller design house such as Hermes or Chanel. These suits are on another level. The fabric sheen and the softness is literally not something found in stores. I ONLY come here all the time. This dry cleaners is located in Corona del Mar. If this place was not the real deal, they would not have lasted here at all. Not only does this place charge $2.80 for ANY piece of clothing... but this place has hemming and button work as well... so right off the bat the complaining needs to stop. My suits and shirts are always pressed, stains gone, not overly starchy and they only take 2 days. IT ONLY TAKES TWO DAYS FOR DRY CLEANING OR LAUNDRY... AND COSTS ABOUT % BUCKS FOR A SUIT. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE?!!! This location is considered the best spot in Newport Beach. It is on PCH, north of Laguna Beach, South of Newport Harbor. There is no way this place would have lasted here for over 30 years with a bad reputation. Not sure what Yelp fuss is about, but seriously... i'm not even reading them. Literally, I have paid upwards of $30 for a 2 piece silk and wool Suit. Here I Pay $6... thats $6.00 for an entire suit to be dry cleaned. My suits cost about $6,000.00 new. They arent even sold in Bloomingdales, Nordstroms or Saks Fifth Avenue. They are only carried in Neiman Marcus, California, Marsh's Huntington NY and Zegna's boutique stores throughout the US by custom order. I trust my suits here. Check them out! read more

This is a cheap dry cleaner in CDM. That alone, makes it interesting. Since I work in Newport, I am pretty much forced to overpay for many of life's little conveniences, like the local restaurants, gas for my car (if I am stupid and forget to fill-up in Huntington), happy hours, and the suits I must wear to work. Eagle offers low-budget cleaning, with friendly service. I think the lady's name is Mary- and she's a hoot. Sometimes she remembers me, sometimes she doesn't. Sometimes she's stressed, sometimes she likes to strike up a conversation. For $2.95 a garment in CDM, it's all good. For me, it's a convenience and price factor. I can get like a whole month's of work clothes cleaned for $45. Anywhere else on PCH, and that's the cost for 3 items. It may not be the best, but so far it works for me. read more

It's cheaper but at what cost? After years of going here with hit or miss quality and service, they burned a dress, lost a sweater and last week, they lost another shirt. This last time my Hubby picked up my clothes for me, I noticed that they had given him one wrong shirt. I brought it back and explained the situation and the Manager took the shirt and was super rude when I asked her to look for mine. She said it was my Husbands fault for picking up an order with the wrong shirt! She said nothing...was she expecting me to just leave? I asked her if she could write my shirt description down and to call me if someone returned it and she wrote it down and again, nothing. I see a lot of very dissatisfied people posting some negative stuff about this mom & pop establishment. Sure, they have an antiquated system for processing orders-all hand written receipts. Sure, it gets a little busy and people may have to wait a few minutes before being served. But, the result has always been satisfactory and their prices are nearly 30% less than other cleaners. The orders are always on time, and if something is not done to your liking, they will redo it. I'm very satisfied with this local gem and hope you give it a shot. read more

Friendly service and clothes are cleaned well; HOWEVER, I stopped going to them because: 1. Almost every week a button would crack off from my dress shirts from their machines. 2. I would then have to come when the alterations woman was there to drop my shirt off and pay for a button to be replaced. I've been to better cleaners but this one is close to home, reasonable prices & turnaround time is only a few days. Good customer service is hit or miss. Sometimes they are very friendly & other times I have to stand and wait while they finish personal conversations. Most of the time our clothes back clean but several times I've had to request for a re-wash on dress shirts. They definitely need to invest in a computer system. Well we have used this cleaner in the past because of convenience. Tonight they decided to close early, literally slam and lock the door on 8 months pregnant me with about 5 minutes till 7. This isn't the only issue we have had with them. I dropped off a nice sweater that had salad dressing on it. Thinking it had been cleaned I came back 2 weeks later to pick it up. It still had dressing all over the front and a ticket that said refuse to clean. No one bothered to call me. I also never got my money back which I had pre paid. I took it to another cleaner and they were able to salvage it. In the end trying to stay local is a waste of time and money. read more

Mist of the time service is great. Today, I showed up at 5:50 and they close at 6. Door was locked and the girl inside tried ignoring me. I kept knocking until she looked at me. She said they were closed and looked away. I kept knocking until eventually she came over and said she could only do pickup. I am going on a trip and need my clothes for it. The worst dry cleaner ever! They do such a bad job and don't take responsibility. I had a pair of shorts that I specifically told them that there was a spot on them. I came to get them and the spot was still there. I pointed it out to the the lady and she said sorry nothing we can do because we don't to spot treatment. I also brought a duvet cover in when I came to get it there was a 12 inch yellow spot on it. They redid it and did nothing to it and it wasn't pressed. CANNOT ADVISE YOU MORE NOT TO GO HERE. This is the worst dry cleaners I have been to in my entire life. I dropped off hundreds of dollars worth of cashmere sweaters to get dry cleaned, and when I went to pick them up they told me they didn't have my sweaters there. Basically what happened is that they put them under the wrong name, so it wasn't until about 4 months later that they called me and say they've found it. And when I go to pick it up they actually have the nerve to charge me. I told them there was no way I was going to pay and the lady threw a fit but eventually let me go without paying. I can't believe they'd even ask after their huge mistake! Plus it is always so hot in there and there is always a line because they move extremely slow. Seriously, go anywhere else!! read more

What a gem of a place for all of your sewing & alterations needs! The customer service is top notch as well. I brought in a large Sofa U Love couch slip cover that needed a new zipper. They did such an excellent job! The slip cover now fits better than when I had first purchased it! And the owner is super sweet! I have gone to Eagle Cleaners for years because it's conveniently located, the price is right and the people are friendly and nice but I finally stopped bringing my dry cleaning because they just do not get the stains out! I have to go through every item before I leave the shop and ask them to redo the item, or take it off the bill. They are more than willing to redo the item, but it's just easier to take my dry cleaning elsewhere and get it done right the first time. read more

Avoid this establishment. The prices are inexpensive for the area, but you do get what you pay for. Today they lost us, years-long customers, because a clerk stubbornly and belligerently insisted she'd given me all the items of a large order. In fact, I'd paid for 63 items at drop off (you pay in advance here) and I proved it, but she only returned 53. No paperwork or amount of persuasion proving otherwise could convince this clerk (first time I'd ever encountered her) that she was miscounting. The line grew long behind me, and she was so completely unreasonable -- alternately staring at me blankly and loudly arguing with me -- that I became embarrassed for both of us and I just gave up. I'll take time out of my week ahead to talk to the manager, and even if it does work out, it won't change this terrible experience. Through the years, yes, Eagle's has lost items here and there, but typically (not always) they'll find them later and call us. We should have quit them after they lost those things, I guess. Heard about the great prices here from a friend and wanted to check it out as they only charge $3.85 for jackets, dresses, etc... When I brought home my husbands dress shirts and my 2 blazers and looked at them there were creases and lines all over. They did not look cleaned or pressed. There were marks and lines from their products and they looked worse than when I dropped them off. As a day customer for over five years, I love the fact that all the employees are friendly, courteous, helpful and they have never lost a single piece of clothing! The prices are the best in town and our clothes are always ready on time! Sue created my daughters wedding gown for half the cost of the tair that the Whote Dress referred us to in town!! Cleaners are just ok, but stay away from the TAILOR. They charged a ridiculous amount to begin with and then when I went to pick up my clothes added another $10, that they attempted to justify that they forgot to add in.
