We took our 8 year old granddaughter and we did the Double Lickety Split and had a great time. It was fun for the whole family. We were very comfortable with our guide Christopher. He certainly knew his way around the river and was very entertaining and engaging particularly with granddaughter. Eagle Rafting does not have some of the glitz and glamor of some of the other companies, but Joe and his staff made us feel as if we were family. We recently went tubing with Eagle Rafting and it was the best experience! I was initially leaning toward using a different company but after speaking with Joe I chose Eagle and I am so happy that I did! Eagle Rafting provides guides with each group they send out, making safety a priority (something the other companies do not do). I am glad we picked Eagle rafting over other River Rafting companies. Their prices were reasonable and they were focused on customer service. They made sure we were safe, and that our runs were fun. My teenagers thought that the guides, Tyler and Dylan we're so chill. Even the bus rides were fun. The lunch was great. When I was calling around, most companies offered sandwiches for lunch. Eagle rafting served BBQ ribs, coleslaw, pasta salad, beans, oranges, and watermelon. At the end of our day, Joe, the owner even bought my family some ice cream for my birthday. We picked a full-day rafting trip with lunch. We went down the river twice in the morning then we had lunch. After lunsch, we went for another two runs. Eagle rafting gave us a choice of either being on the same boat during all the runs or using the inflatable kayak. It was even more fun to be on that on white water. read more

Tried rafting for the first time this past Sunday, April 3, even though the water was low. Went down the lickity split with William as our guide and it was awesome. Joe (the owner) drove the bus/shuttle and was also great. Tons of fun and very safe. They had all of the safety gear for us to use, even for our 8 year old, and the rafts were in great shape. These guys really know what they are doing. This is not some big shot corporate enterprise, just some good ol' boys that know the river inside and out and know how to have fun. Joe and his Eagle Rafting company were very hospitable. There were 10 in our group. We were first greeted by Shelby, who had a great positive attitude and was very helpful. We did a half-day with two level 2-3 runs. The first run we had 5 on each raft, with a guide on the back of each raft - a good intro. Jared and Michael were fun guides. The second run we all chose to do IK's (inflatable kayaks), with a couple on each IK, and no guide! It was so much fun and a few in our group wiped out, with no injuries whatsoever, only laughs. We ended our trip with ribs and hot dogs cooked by Dane, which hit the spot and gave us energy to head back home. The cole slaw was delicious! There was also pasta salad, lemonade, and water. Though we did not get to meet Joe in person, he was very nice over the phone and was very quick with emailing or calling back. Joe let us camp near his company, which had a fire pit, portable toilets, plenty of shaded areas, a water spigot, and a table. It was a sweet secluded spot with plenty of space. We have been rafting the Kern for almost 4 years now and Eagle Rafting Company is by far and away the best company we have used. We did the full day trip and had more fun than any of our previous trips. Our guides were Ray and Nick and they were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Our group asks a million questions about the river, water flow, rapids, etc. and they were not only knowledgeable, but were so nice. Our rafting experience was amazing. The owner of the company (Joe) couldn't be more kind and patient. He genuinely cares about all his customer's experiences. As an elite guide, he obviously knows how to train the guides working there. Just finished a full day trip with Eagle Rafting. Water level was high and river was fast so we did 2 runs in the morning, had their BBQ lunch, then did 2 in the afternoon. We had Jim as our guide and the other reviewers comments about his knowledge and experience are spot on. I never felt like I was in any danger with him as our guide. Eagle Rafting did a great job keeping both me and my son safe. I thought I would mention as well, that there was another reviewer that recently mentioned the structure and organization and laid back nature of the business and I would agree 100%. You park along a green fence along the street, then cross over to the location that is operated out of a home with a big lot with all of the rafting equipment and gear all spread out. I prefer organization, structure and timeliness as well, but was able to overlook it as we planned to be there for the whole day and didn't have anything else planned. If you are that kind of person then you may not find that aspect appealing. Joe and his crew are extremely nice and really care about the experience that you have. IMO, we probably could have done 3 runs in the morning and 3 runs in the afternoon if we shortened some of the wait time. But it was a great experience nonetheless in the 4 rafting trips that we took. read more
