The Vibe here is very chill and cool. The Gents who are here Ray & Jason really know their stuff and are happy to share what they know!

Was in the Eagle Rock neighborhood on my way to the Eagle Rock Deli to get me some delicious rainbow cookies....(yeah, you know the one)....and noticed a store that I hadn't noticed before. This store front had a very modern yet clean look to it; and on the very top of the white patina sterile wall right above the classic wood glass pane door in a very modern and classic font, it said simply: PHOTO. On both sides of this classic wood glass pane door were 2 exactly matching classic wood glass pane windows. Naturally, your eyes wander towards them and of course you got to look inside the ever so clear and clean windows.....what a curious collection of, organized and well curated classic camera trinkets one has ever seen. There were vintage Polaroid cameras displayed as well as a rack full of vintage road maps from all over the world in colorful adornment waiting to be opened to take you to your next adventure! Curiosity took the better of me and I had to see more so I trickled in through the door and was greeted by a wall to wall floor made completely out of cork. It was mesmerizing and relaxing at the same time!. A very large beachwood table decorated with just the right amount of photo coffee books carefully placed and displayed broke your concentration Talk about irony....having a picture perfect shot of a picture perfect camera shop in Eagle Rock! I mean the whole place looked like it came out of a movie set designed by Wes Anderson. Everything was organized in a very particular natural way. Colors just blended and the books were stacked in perfect manner! You felt like you were transported into another time period where style and a positive vibe was the prerequisite! Ok, I can keep going about this but at this point, you should just look at my posted pictures or just come check this place out for yourself! You won't be disappointed! Just be warned, even if you're not into camera gear, you'll still be leaving this place with some swag! I sure did! I scored me some key chains, patches, t-shirt, matchbooks and a tote! Just don't say I didn't warn you! See you here!

    Fantastic selection of vintage cameras!

Since its birth in Tokyo, Japan, during the age of the roaring 1920s to its overseas reach in the late 1960s - Kinokuniya has been gracing the world with emporiums of knowledge w/ some flare. I hadn't been to the Bloc in a minute, but making more of an effort to explore the city I was born in and our Downtown area, especially at social hubs like The Bloc. And I love some novelty items, art and tools for/of reading, even more so when it's very affordable. The Studio Ghibli is pretty nice as are various sections for music, history, spiritual and comic related things. Literally was whelmed with great finds, but decided to make my first trip (of many) in a leisure one to get familiar with the store. Great stationary. Great service and just great overall. Some of the isles can feel a little congested when there's an influx of foot traffic, put are still easy to navigate through as well as around. Kinokuniya has events, contests and updates on their website for their various locations. They also offer magazine subscriptions you can pick up in person. More incentive to stop inside for all the in-person bliss this book space has to offer. Open from 11AM to 8PM, seven days a week.

I used the ParkSmarter app to reload my hourly fees for my car. Just a little hint if you're visiting from out of town. I didn't walk away with a purchase, because nothing truly peaked my interest. As an indie bookstore, you are offered a variety of items: cards, books, Knick knacks, magazines, and more. I think the best part of this bookstore is that they have a study area located in the back of it. Combined with the study area is a coffee shop that also sells beer. How cool is that! I was hesitant to sit at the bar since we were in a time crunch, but h would have loved to enjoy it. There were numerous patrons sitting around and having conversations and enjoying their beverages. The vibes eye very vintage yet hipster. Loved it entirely and I absolutely want to visit again !

Bought an espresso, which was still served to me in a paper cup. Week 3 - Bought a collection of Anne Sexton's poetry. When will they film a biopic about her? She's totally movie material. I didn't know Vashti Bunyan wrote a book, holy cow. Couldn't slurp my espresso because all the chairs and tables were taken by campers, so I took my $3.50 espresso and hung out at the huge parking lot next to the patio.

I loved seeing their pocket-sized collection from their genre-specific books to celebrity finds. I spotted a Chappel Roan book among other favorites. Additionally, they had a selection of Heated Rivalry novels and other fan-favorites. I definitely see myself coming here more often, too bad my booklist is currently full. My Mom and I got a few items (a small version of Macbeth, socks, mug, etc.). Staff were pretty polite but a little awkward, I think they're on high-alert for shoplifters. The store was neat and tidy. Lighting was dim and the store wasn't packed. As this is a gift shop in LA, library-specific merch is slightly pricy. However, the quality of the goods are great. If you're entering through the backside of the library go straight down the entrance hallway a bit and turn to your right. The Library Store is hard to miss!

While in Korea, I didn't know that Incheon Airport would have shipping boxes for excess luggage, so when I thought I would be limited by just the space I left for souvenirs and other gifts in my bags, I could've bought all seven Harry Potter books. As you can tell by the town I'm in, I'm in the Bay Area. Here in the Bay, we don't have a lot of Korean bookstores, and the one I could find here didn't really focus on fiction/fantasy books. I found this place after searching the internet for "Korean bookstores in LA/SoCal." I called and asked the staff if they had Harry Potter. They said they didn't, but they told me that if I found some store back in Korea that had what I was looking for, they told me to email them the link or something and then they would order the books for me. When I pointed out that by that logic, if I could find a book by myself and then pay for the store to mail the books directly to me, customs and all, then I'd just be doing their job. The employee told me to "take it or leave it," and they acted completely shocked that I did leave.
