Once again, yelp sent me to a great restaurant in an area where I was staying. The Eagles nest is within a very large campground, but it doesn't feel like it is you sit right out by the water and there must be at least 100 ducks swimming around plus there are duck hunters in the area we were really I had the wings as usual and my husband had a Reuben as usual. We also got the fried pickles which were absolutely delicious. We are staying about 15 minutes away and this was well worth a very short drive. The large beer is definitely a large beer and it's ice cold. Marbella Was our waitress and she did an amazing job. Some people like it, I've been 6 times and always had a problem. Undercooked, overcooked, wrong order, and kinda pricey for frozen processed food stuck in a microwave. Stopped going a while ago. If you're not real picky, try it. Not much in the area to choose from. read more

We went with our friends before going to a festival. The view of the lake was beautiful. We ordered make your own pizzas. One with regular crust and one with cauliflower crust. The cauliflower crust was nice and crispy. My pizza could have been cooked more. The gator bites were tasty. We sat at the screened in patio. read more

Had a chance to go here with my mom recently for a beer. We weren't really interested in getting any food, just wanted to grab a drink while sitting by the water and looking out. So that is what we did. The location is in the back of an RV park, which we did drive through a bit more than you are supposed to, simply because we were curious. It looks like a lot of folks make this their home for a good part of the year as there are permanent lockers located at many of the RV berths, and there is a sense of community vibing throughout the area. The restaurant is small, and just serves bar food as far as we could tell. The couple of dishes that I saw others eating looked decent, but as we were not there for the food I didn't sample anything. It is a nice place to stop in at for a drink by the water and perhaps some lunch. read more

This hit the spot and exactly what we were looking for. Stopped her for lunch last Saturday with 4 of us. Yelp lead me to Eagle's. Nice little hidden gem on the lake. Some outdoor seating facing the water and piers. Great selection of apps wand sandwich backers. Good drink menu too. 2 of us got blackened fish. WOW it was good. Also had boneless wings. This is tucked away behind the camp ground so if you have never been, just keep following the road through and you will end here. I'd come back for sure. Oh. We sat outdoors with about 9 people at 2 tables and the one waitress was very good. Note: they add Gratuity to the bill at a rate about 17 percent. The pop was in a decent size glass, the food was quality, I had the chicken tenders(3) , fries, Slaw and was a good amount. Never got a refill, things got busy( lunch time) . OMG this place is a favorite of mine!!! The food is to die for!!! I've had their wings, burgers, and other handhelds, and they've all been absolutely amazing!!! The staff is very helpful and friendly and the service is fast. The place is like you're walking on a nice old style boat and it has a homey feeling to it. So rude, dont go here looking for southern Hospitality. Stopped in at 7:30 pm to be informed that the kitchen was closing at 8 pm. We nicely said, ok we will just have a drink. My husband asked for a Sam adams, and person sweeping the floor said" we just have wine and beer" someone came in behind us and they were offered food if they ordered quickly. This is HIDDEN. So, if you're headed to the UF farm in Citra, after you turn east off 441, this is after the Jai-alai on the same side of the street (north.) Basically there's a country club or golf club or something and RV park so you'd think oh no, it's private, but it's NOT, that's the thing. Turn in and follow the drive all the way around vaguely to the leftish, as far back as you can go. That's where the restaurant is, right on the water, right on Orange Lake -- although it doesn't quite feel like real waterfront dining because there's a screen. (That's probably a blessing when the bugs are out, though.) The menu is kinda limited, stuff like burgers and fried food, but I was able to get a grilled shrimp Caesar salad that surprised me for being super fresh and delicious. For a kind of hidden, hole in the wallish, casual place like this, the lettuce was VERY crisp -- like they actually care -- and the shrimp was well-seasoned instead of just being plopped in a pan. The waitress was also really nice. Basically my point is that if you are in Citra for some reason like working at the farm or passing through or just want to hang out on the lake, that this place IS worth eating at and isn't just one notch above TV dinners or something. The missing star is because of the kinda limited menu but if that's what works for them that's fine. PLEASE follow my directions to get here because Google Maps will take you into a fishing area nearby that's separated from this restaurant by a fence; the fishing area is very pleasant and I sat there and read and knitted for a long time after I ate but that's not the way to get to the restaurant itself. The waitress did say there was a cut-through but I couldn't find it and you're better off parking in the restaurant's actual parking anyway. read more

A friend and I had lunch here today, what a beautiful location. It was too windy to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful lake view so we took a table inside. The food was reasonable priced, the staff very friendly, the interior nothing to write home about, but it didn't mater. Friend had been there several time and recommended it, since we were close, said she had never had a bad experience there. Well, they didn't disappoint! She had a burger and fries, it was done as she requested and we both thought the fries were delicious! I had the Ruben, it's a habit, love to try them in new places! The pumpernickel swirl bread was fresh, not overly done with sauerkraut, and a nice sauce, very authentic. They have dinner specials, happy hours, different soups and daily specials. If I was closer, you'd see me there more often, maybe on the chairs on the dock with a drink, appetizers and good book! Eating at eagles nest is like a place from a movie from the fact that it's in a trailer park to the face that it has a beautiful view of the lake.... I really really loved to go on the dock and sit there for a moment .... That was until they added the sign that said minors like me couldn't go on the dock anymore .... Unfornate I know but that's ok every time I come here I get either the wings which is like a ten piece wings with the usual sauces for the wings or the burger and I get it without the bun cause allergy and also cheese cause allergy but then I instead get the fries and the coleslaw and the mushrooms ‍ occasionally I will get the jalapeños and the guacamole ... i don't really like the jalapeños because they take the seeds out but it's ok .... My favorite there is the Rueben sandwich and even more favorite of mine almost ordered every time are the Gator Bites with Boom Boom sauce and tarter. The service is top notch h even when they are busy the waitresses Zoey and Sunnie are my two favorites. Wow!! My husband and myself went to lunch today accompanied by our two dogs. Firstly there is a good dog run on the property! They had a good time allowing us to enjoy our lunch. We had the catfish basket. The best I have ever had. Melt in your mouth. The fries were crispy, not over done and saturated in grease. Delish. The coleslaw also was yummy! The service is great. I haven't been there in about two years. Myself and my coworkers use to come here all the time for lunch. I came today for the first time in a while. When we walked in, the server (I didn't catch her name, white female, late fourtys-early fifties, bandana on her head) was rude. She didn't even greet us before saying "just wait a minute, I'm busy and the tables are dirty". We started to leave then but I wanted to overlook it because I was excited to eat here again. We get our food. She doesn't even bother to come check on us anymore. No refills, nothing. Even the gentleman behind me was fussing saying she didn't even get his order and he had been sitting there for almost twenty minutes and she just kept walking past him. Mind you, they weren't all that busy. After waiting almost 15 minutes for her to bring me the bill I just got up and went inside and said can I please have the bill so we can just leave already. I loved it before when I and my zone deputies would eat for lunch. But this visit will certainly be my last one. I'll pass from here on out. read more

While eating at a golf course/RV park isn't the first place I consider on an afternoon date with my wife, we tried this place out on a Sunday and we're pleasantly surprised. The staff was very courteous and the food was essentially solid, American bar food. Nothing super fancy, but it was definitely good. The thing that makes this place a keeper is it's physical location: right on a lake. There is a screened in eating area that overlooks the lake and it is beautiful. You get a small taste of Florida swampy-ness around the edges and a beautiful lakeside vista for the rest. For a truly relaxing, low-pressure comfortable meal, this place is great. read more
