Probably the best burger spot in Ridgewood. To be honest, I knew NOTHING about East Coast Burger until I took a stroll around town after eating at another restaurant and taking notice of this retro looking burger spot on the corner of Oak and Franklin. From the outside and inside, it has local, neighborhood burger joint written all over it -the big sign outside, the local high school kids working inside and the large burger menu, which is actually not majorly overpriced! Anyhow, we visited on Father's Day this year and the restaurant was relatively quiet with the exception of a few other families, but there were plenty of open tables and seats. For those that care, the claim is that each burger patty is hand pressed and all natural American beef that is ground daily with no growth hormones. For those like me who just like a good burger no matter how it is made, the burgers really hit the spot. All of the burgers come plain, unless you ask for lettuce, tomato, pickles and raw onions. Any other toppings are an additional charge. I ended up with the Bacon Cheeseburger, while my wife ordered the Teriyaki Swiss Mushroom Burger and we got a regular East Coast Cheeseburger for our little one. And, you just CANNOT have burgers without some good ol' fries, so we threw in an order of cheese fries and onion rings to boot. Oh and we love our burgers and fries with a little shake action too, so we got 1 strawberry shake and 1 chocolate shake too. Summary. Everything was great! Burgers were very simple-looking, but were nicely cooked and juicy. Fries were hot and delicious. So were the onion rings. However, what really blew me away wasn't the food, but the milkshakes! Honestly, it's quite hard to find a good ice cream milkshake these days. Most spots just make it too sweet, but they made it jussssssst right. It had a good thickness to it, but not thick to the point you couldn't drink it. It really was a great tasting shake. I could have drank it ALL DAY LONG. Employees were relatively friendly and there is a small parking lot outside. Seating can be indoors or outdoors as well. Like I said, it's super local and definitely has that neighborhood joint feel to it. Definitely a good choice for a burger, that actually isn't overpriced, and, if you do decide to come here, GET THE SHAKE!!!!

    Hot dog, fries, burger

So good! Just left a great family dinner place. My wife had a mouth watering burger w/ sweet potato fries, I had a very fresh wedge salad that was huge! My son had a hot dog and fries, and we had 3 delicious milkshakes. Staff was super polite, friendly and well educated on the menu and allergens. They also keep the place very clean and play 1980's rock. What's not to like?

Fun little casual burger joint in Ridgewood, a little off the Main Street. BYOB and there is a wine store around the corner, in case you wanted a beer or wine with your meal. It's counter service and food was good and priced well. Reminds me of the old school chain, Fuddruckers, on a much smaller scale. I gave it 4 stars because the employees providing the counter service were just goofing off, on their phones, etc. Ugh, people you are the face of a business so step up your customer service game !!

The food is just as good as going to a ShakeShack, and I would much prefer support a small business!! Plus, they have an option for a 1/2 pound patty if that still isnt enough. We've been going every week since we found the place. The patties are crispy but not overcooked, I love that the menu has some pretty interesting items (like a teriyaki burger? Have to try that one next!) and all of the people that work there are very kind and attentive! The ECB sauce is my boyfriend's favorite, and the pickles are semisweet that surprisingly makes the sandwich what it is. Definitely go if you havent already!

Sorry the Lobster Roll may be good but $28 is a rip off for a small roll unless the lobster is coated in gold.

The cheesy, gooey mozzarella moons are hot and crispy on the outside with the perfect amount of mozzarella on the inside. As you indulge, remember to stretch the cheese as long and as far as you can - shoot for the moon! You won't go wrong with whichever style burger you choose. The black & bleu was piled with bleu cheese crumbles. You won't see the patty on the cali burger, but don't be deceived because it's packed with avocado, bacon and other flavorful toppings. You'll definitely need two hands to devour these bad boys! French fries are always the number one backbone to any hamburger plate. I explored the original fries, and for a small upcharge , I also tried the sweet potato fries. It was sweet variation from the common potato. To finish off the meal, I slurped a mint chocolate milkshake. Unlike the vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry, this fourth flavor is not available all year round. The shake has a perfect thickness and texture. And the dessert drink toppings are simple, but satisfying. And if you aren't in the mood for typical burger and fries, the diverse menu also offers breakfast, Greek, and vegan options. The owner, Paul, will definitely make sure you are taken care of. #RocknTheGrill #glenrocknj #blackandblueburger #caliburger #milkshakes #burgerandfries

We each started our dinner with a bowl of homemade soup, my wife had clam chowder, and I had the soup of the day which was beef barley. My wife ordered Shepherd's Pie. It's a huge portion loaded with ground beef, vegetables, topped with mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese and baked to a golden brown. She thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I ordered the Prime Rib Special. It was beautifully cooked to a medium rare perfection; it was super tender and melted in my mouth. I got mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies. It also came with a container of Au jus. We did not have any room to attempt to try any dessert, but we will definitely save room on our next visit. I highly recommend Blackjack Mulligans especially if you want good food with fantastic service, having a great experience and a phenomenal time.

We ordered the 'Four the Family' (4 burgers and/or sandwiches, 4 sides, 2 shares) and the 'Smashburger (4) & Fries' (4 smashburgers and fries). For the 'Four the Family', there are select burger/sandwiches you can choose from but it's a pretty big selection. We ended up with the Americana, Spicy Paul Bunyan, Truffle Elk, and Classic Chix. None were really memorable and were kind of dry. For the sides, we had the honey brussels (burnt) and Korean fried chicken wings, which weren't bad. The cole slaw was probably some of the worst I've eaten - there was no flavor, it was like they just mixed some cabbage with mayonaisse. The smashburgers were much better. Can't really go wrong with a smash burger. However, we should it would come with four sets of fries but it was only one. We also ordered a side of onion rings, and those were really good. I would say for what we paid, it was totally worth it. Are they good burgers? Eh, not necessarily. But I would probably do the smashburger deal again, and only if there is another inKind promotion.

We stopped in mid-week for a family dinner after work and even on a Wednesday the place was buzzing. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, which makes for a cozy atmosphere but also means tables are very close together. If you can, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The menu is somewhat minimal, but the food overall was good. I eat gluten-free and noticed the options were a bit limited, which made ordering slightly challenging. I ended up going with the sea scallops. They were nicely cooked, but the portion was smaller than I expected--five small scallops with some vegetables. For the price, I do wish the portion had been a bit more generous. I have to admit I left still a little hungry. My dad ordered the short rib grilled cheese and really enjoyed it. That was probably the standout dish at our table. My sister ordered the honey bourbon chicken and said it was okay, but afterward she mentioned she probably should have gone with the short rib grilled cheese instead. One surprise of the night was live music on a Wednesday. I usually enjoy live music, but since we were hoping to catch up as a family it made conversation a little difficult. The music was fairly loud for such a small space. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They also have a rewards program, which worked out nicely--my dad received a complimentary dessert for his birthday. I ordered the crème brûlée, which was a great way to end the meal. A couple practical tips: parking in Ridgewood can be tricky. The restaurant advertises valet parking, though we didn't use or see it during our visit. If you find street parking, make sure to feed the meter because the town is known for giving out tickets. In warmer months they do offer some outdoor sidewalk seating, though it looks fairly limited. It also appears they have a happy hour, though we didn't arrive in time to try it. Overall, I'd recommend checking out Steel Wheel Tavern--just be mindful of the timing of your visit, especially if you're hoping for a quieter dinner.
