I had a great experience at this office! I called last minute on a Saturday for an emergency visit because my temporary crown fell off and my regular dentist was not available for a few days. Everyone was warm and welcoming from the start- including the receptionist, Stef the dental assistant, and Dr. Angela Kim. I liked that Dr. Kim gave me the option to put on a stronger temporary cement for my crown in case I had to wait longer for my permanent. Also, I liked how Stef noticed the dental light was shining in my eyes and moved it. The office is beautiful and I liked that they didn't push any extra products. I do think they are a bit pricey compared to my regular dentist, but for an emergency visit it was well worth it for me. read more

I will preface this by saying this practice was recommended to me and I am sure my experience is not everyone's My rating stems from my personal experience with this practice. If your teeth are otherwise fine and you are having no difficulties and this practice starts acting dramatically, painfully probing your gums claiming you have alarming bone loss and telling you you need more than a regular cleaning, like a deep cleaning or dental scaling and root planing as they told me, run and get a 2nd opinion stat!!! I did and found out from a reputable practitioner that East Madison exaggerated my bone loss, suggesting that I would soon lose my teeth, evidently to frighten me into agreeing to a totally unnecessary, painful and expensive procedure. I was told by my new dentist who also gently checked that my bone loss was not severe and I was not at risk for losing my teeth, dhouldI live to be 100 as long as I continue to take care of them as I have. East Madison is a multi-practice complete with endodontists and state of the art, expensive equipment and the money to pay for it all reasonably has to come from its clients. Understandable, that there would be a somewhat larger bill at such a practice if run ethically. Unfortunately, the temptation to push unneeded procedures must be high. People generally dread going to the dentist. I'm not one of them but I never thought I'd actually look forward to going. I also never expected I'd write a glowing review of a dentist but here goes... I made an appointment with Dr. Jain for a consultation for a procedure that I thought I needed. Before I even met him, the entire staff made me feel at ease. From the front desk person who offered me something to drink, to the clinician who gave me a tour of the facility and asked if I wanted a heating pad for my back in addition to whether I wanted to watch tv while she took my dental impressions (and also kept checking in with me while I was alone), to the hygienist who gave me a moisturizing hand treatment while she cleaned my teeth, to the billing person who explained everything patiently, this was a first class experience. When I did meet with Dr. Jain, he was extremely patient, kind, and thorough, conducting an exam that revealed the root of my TMJ. He told me that the procedure I had come in for was not necessary and suggested another non-invasive therapy. I was also impressed with how modern their techniques were. They took photos of my mouth, teeth and face which Dr Jain used to show me the cause behind the issues I have been experiencing. Instead of the procedure I thought I needed, he recommended a night guard to prevent teeth grinding and apnea. He suggested braces to correct my issue but thought I should wait to see how the night guard worked for me. If I did need braces, he felt I shouldn't see him for them - he said I should work with an orthodontist closer to my home because it would be too inconvenient to drive 45 minutes each way for the adjustments every 6 weeks. Another modern technique they have is using what looks like a laser pointer to detect cavities which found I had one cavity as suspected when he reviewed my photos (but not a second one that I appeared to have). When I booked my appointment I had no plans to switch dentists but after this one visit I will be driving 45 minutes for my bi-annual exams and procedures. I will say that this concierge level of service comes at a cost. My cleaning was covered by my insurance but I will have to pay more for my filling and night guard than if I went to my old no-frills dentist after my co-insurance It's worth it to me because the experience today was so pleasant. My old dentist was fine - they cleaned my teeth and checked for cavities - but nowhere near as thorough. The fancy office definitely helped but Dr. Jain and staff, modern practice, and overall atmosphere are what made the deepest impression. read more

I've been a patient at East Madison Dental for several years now and I'M NEVER LEAVING! Most people hate going to the dentist but I seriously look forward to it because this practice feels like it doubles as a spa! The office is very clean, well organized and updated with the latest equipment. There's even a TV in every office on an angle where you can watch TV during your appointment, and you're in control of the channel. It's always an added bonus when Hilary does my cleaning, she's the BEST - and only one example of a staff full of stars. I hate having chapped lips, and she never fails to remember to provide lip balm to make sure I continue to have moist lips throughout the appointment. She always pays close attention to my teeth and is full of great recommendations for products that i should use, which always work out to be great. Wow is all I can say. One stop shopping for all my dental needs. They did a root canal and some cosmetic adjustments and I could not be happier. I had a front tooth I had tried to replace two times already with other dentist. I was recommended here by a friend. The front tooth is now perfect and could never be taken for a veneer. All this work including the root canal took only two visits and that was only because the tooth needed to be made. He even got the coloring of my tooth perfect to match the rest of my mouth. I've done a decent amount of reviews on yelp and this one is the best experience I've had out of all of them. A good dentist is to me, extremely hard to find. I used to dread going to the hygentist and dentist before I discovered East Madison Dental. The building is new, and inside it is very modern and clean. They have a nice waiting area with games for the kids. In the exam rooms, there is DirecTV in every room. My hygentist, Hillary, was extremely friendly and did a great job. This is the only place I have ever experienced ZERO discomfort during my cleaning. If there is an issue with a tooth, they bring up photos and x-rays on the screen to show you in detail what is going on. I wound up having to get a 20-year-old filling replaced (from a previous dentist) and that was a good experience as well. Dr Sabat was very friendly. Overall, they really go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable during every step. I highly recommend this place. read more

The mailer for a "new patient special" for $129.00 is what prompted me to make the appointment. I figured I'd be out in an hour. It took 2 hours. First a tour of the facility and an intro to every person in every position that worked there. I had sent my recent xrays so none were needed. Dr Jain insisted that pictures were taken, and reviewed, of my teeth. He then pointed out potential dental problems up the road but found nothing needing attention. This accounted for another half hour. The cleaning also required in-depth explanation. I've had my teeth cleaned twice a year for 40 years. No need to make cancer research out of teeth cleaning. Even paying my bill was drawn out. More explanations of signing up for an extended plan with the practice. I was given a price for nitrous when I made the appointment and was charged the exorbitant fee of $130.00, far more than I was quoted. My bill was over $300.00. A Charlatan "Dentist"- Dr. Narpat Jain, East Madison Dental, Tenafly, NJ I have been a patient of East Madison Dental in Tenafly, NJ for the last two years. From the beginning the attitude of Dr. Jain and his medical staff was to "sell" treatments, necessary or not, with the sole purpose of making more money. I was under constant pressure to do crowns, root canals and other treatments for unnoticed mysteries cavities that "may cause a big problem". Unfortunately, I failed into the trap and after constant pressure I agreed in October 2017 to re-do a root canal in my upper left molar tooth which didn't bother me at all. Dr. Jain claimed this is necessary to prevent future potential implant and "it is year end and you can max-up your insurance". I insisted on in-network treatment and was referred to Dr. Simpson (I am sure Dr. Jain made something on this referral). Dr. Simpson who is claimed to be endodontist, "skillfully" destroyed an otherwise perfect root canal that didn't bother me for years and created a fracture in the tooth resulting in infection and bone loss. I start complaining to Dr. Jain's staff since January 2018 but was dismissed. Eventually, in July after I came to an emergency treatment due to pains, an X-ray was taken (attached) which disclosed a complete bone loss around the tooth (that didn't exist prior to the unnecessary treatment). I was sent again to Dr. Simpson (who calls himself "endodontist") who affirmed the finding and sent me back to Dr. Jain. Dr. Jain jumped on the opportunity and offered that he (a GP) will do two implants (the said molar supported a bridge and the loss of which resulted in a need for two implants, not one). No doubt Dr. Jain found a great way to make profit, you take a healthy person, send him to unnecessary treatment, get referral fees for doing nothing and then make a buck on an oral surgery you are not truly qualified to do. I refused as there is not way I will let this charlatan to do work he is not trained for (I offered him to take the reconstruction on him, but he refused). On August 14th I had gone an oral surgery. The surgeon had to work hard to take the destroyed tooth (which was broken because of the fracture Dr. Simpson created, thank you Dr. Simpson), had to fill the cavity with bone-filler which will hopefully regrow the lost bon inflicted by the doing of the "good" Drs. Jay/Simpson. The surgeon also placed a dental implant in the missing area which was previously covered by a bridge (now with no support). The results of the doing of charlatan Jain and the skill less Simpson are that an otherwise healthy person that have never undergone a surgery and had not symptoms): 1. Had gone though months of pain post the failed unnecessary root cannel performed by an unprofessional "Dr" [Simpson]. Pain which wasn't properly attended by Dr. Jain and his team 2. Had to go through a VERY painfully surgery, still recovering. 3. Will have no molars for at least 4 months until the bone is re-built 4. Lost days of work 5. Had to pay thousands of dollars for the failed root canals, reconstruction, surgery 6. Will have to pay thousands more for reconstruction. Stay away! read more

Dr. Jein and his staff took amazing care of our 2 week old newborn daughter when she needed to get her lip tie removed. They also noticed she had a tongue tie and were diligent about getting both removed quickly, safely, and with as little discomfort to our daughter as possible. Extremely caring and trustworthy practice who have gone above and beyond for us in preparation for the procedure as well as post procedure follow ups. Before going to EMDental, we were too scared to visit a dentist's clinic. We have heard scary stories about dentists and we never actually went to one. Our friend referred us to this clinic and wow.. what a place this is!! A very professional and courteous staff...one who knows exactly what they are doing.. Dr Jain is very good in his trade.. He makes the patient feel extremely comfortable while doing a procedure.. All I can say is WOW! I still can't believe how incredibly nice, polite, welcoming and professional this office is. I have never seen anything like it. I came across EMD by chance while searching for a dentist because I wasn't happy with my prior experience elsewhere. I am usually very busy at work and it's an open space so it's easier for me to just send e-mails so when I saw the option to contact the office by e-mail I did and received a response very quickly the same day from the scheduling coordinator Gronya. My schedule is extremely limited because of work so I have to say it was mostly my fault for not getting in sooner but Gronya and Chelsea kept in contact with me and were so helpful at accommodating me. I finally had a day where I could go in and I called to see if I could get in for a consultation if by any chance someone had cancelled but they happened to be booked for the day. When I spoke with Christian (the treatment coordinator ) he assured me he would call me if anyone cancelled and to my surprise he ACTUALLY called me! I went in for my consultation and I must say again that I cannot believe how friendly the office was. I received a tour, was offered tea, coffee, water, etc. Everyone was truly knowledgeable about every single thing in that office. The best part was how Dr. Jain had an explanation for every single thing and answered every single question I had. So it's not like you go in, ask 5 questions and go home... he actually explained everything with the words "and I will tell you why." That to me is music to my ears-- because there is nothing worse than a doctor not explaining something to you and then you are left with all these questions and options you didn't know you had. I was actually able to have my procedure done the same day; it took all but 10 minutes, it was painless and I am happy with his work. Carla, the dental assistant was so nice and friendly which helped making me feel more comfortable since I was nervous. I would recommend this office to anyone without any hesitation. It is a little pricey (thank God for insurance) but I live by the saying "you get what you pay for" and honestly-- you don't want to skimp out on teeth; your smile is so important :) This place is worth every penny. Christine and Christian (both treatment coordinators) went over all costs and listed every single thing in the simplest way possible so that there were no surprises, hassles or insurance dramas-- that to me, was the cherry on top.
