Import Car Centre - My new car!!! So happy with it!!

Import Car Centre

For a sleep issue, nearly nine years ago I started on a hypnotic sleep medication. I only recently realized that it can impact cognitive function through long-term use, but not before having bought an Audi Q7 here from Mr. S. in 2023. The $875/month price tag was more than I ever thought I'd spend on a vehicle, but I was able to manage it. Fast forward to early this year with five years left to pay off the Audi. My 14-yr old and I went out to look at trucks for fun -- which we did every month as he is a truck enthusiast. He chose Import Car Centre. As we entered the lot, we saw a 2023 Toyota Tacoma beside the trailer, which my son started talking about with Mr. S. My mind is still reeling as before I knew it, I was signing papers to buy this. I do know this: - I had 5 years left of payments on the Audi - I had recently retired (and told Mr. S. this) - Mr. S. told me they would put on the application that I was still working (so lied to the credit company) - I was not offered the Carfax report (I paid for it myself later) - According to the report, the 2023 Toyota Tacoma had actually been sitting on their lot for nearly a full year - When I asked for the weekend to consider this, I was told there is a lot of demand for the truck and it could be gone over the weekend. BS. - The cap over the bed has a huge tear in it - The tires were nearly gone (confirmed by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation) - I gave them $5000 down payment, and now pay $550 every two weeks for the next seven years for what amounts to a debt consolidation loan. When following up with me to finalize, and I talked about the vehicle, Mr. S. rudely said, "The only thing I am interested in is your direct deposit information." This says all one needs to know about this place. Stay clear of the snake pit.

We did end up going back to the dealership and putting down a deposit of $500 on a vehicle. We were super excited and were looking forward to picking up our new vehicle. We decided 2 days before we would remove the winter tires and rims to lower the payments and winter is soon ending. I reached out to the salesperson and they agreed to have them removed from the sales agreement but would charge us a re-stocking fee. We both understood the inconvenience, although were never under the impression that we were doing anything wrong by deciding to have the winter tires removed as there was sufficient time and we were already spending over $50K on a vehicle and would have certainly provided positive feedback to friends and family. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when we overheard a conversation between the staff on a voicemail that was left on our phone without their knowledge as he forgot to hang up the phone. The voicemail consisted of many insults and was extremely unprofessional with use of swear words towards us. When the decision was made to back out, there was no apology or consideration given for how we felt following the voicemail. My wife and I are left uneasy and in shock over what could have been a civil end to the deal. I have sent two emails to Import Car Centre requesting a refund of my deposit and to this day have not received the deposit or simple an apology for the way we were treated.

I brought my 2005 Mitsubishi outlander suv to them with 2 small problems I have a small leak on my gas tank and 1 small leak on a brake line. The new owner got back to me saying it will cost $3000 the tank needs to be replaced and will be 6 hrs and cost $1000 and all my brake lines needs to be replaced another 6 hrs $1000 and another $700 to fix seized callipers. I called back and talked to the mechanic Rich if he can just patch the gas tank he said no and ask if he can change the one brake line he said no they need to be all replaced so I asked ok can you do all the brake lines $1000 then bleed and I'll do the callipers and the tank he said no he's not able to bleed them with seized callipers. So I said forget it I'll just pick it up and go somewhere else and Rich said don't forget to return the rental. I brought my suv to the mechanic also in Ottawa that sold me the car and was ready in 2 days. He said they patched the gas tank and fixed the 1 brake line and told me the callipers are not seized and it only cost $452 with tax. Iam posting this because Iam so upset and almost paid $3000 just give you a warning for bringing your vehicles to mcconville's garage new owners and rich the mechanic is taking advantage. So sad they carry that name still .

I just went to McConville Garage and I must say that his was the worst experience I have had with a…read morecar repair garage. I went in with a broken lever for my gas door. When I asked the first time, he stated that it was my cable and would cost only about 100.00. Then he called back and said that it was the plastic assembly that was broken and now would cost 200.00 plus labor (about 1/2 hour). Today, he said that it would cost me 375.00 for a part and the labor that has now changed to 1 hour of labor. During this time, the owner's voice was getting aggressive stating that he told me it was 375 from the beginning. I was not happy. I went to the garage to pay it and asked for the piece that was broken. He was not happy I asked for it. I checked the plastic piece and discovered that the piece was only broken on a very small piece of the part. It could have been fixed with a little glue (I know, I tried and it worked fine). I left the garage and went to my car. I checked it and there was some money that was missing. I went back into the garage and advised the owner that I was missing the money. He stated that "I would find that very unusual for that to happen" in a very aggressive tone. I am not one to stand by and take it. I told him "I don't care what you think this is unusual but I am missing the money". I left the garage to just leave and that's it. He came to my car again in an aggressive manner and began to swear at me and saying "they would not steal any money". I told him I did not say it was stolen, just missing. I have to state here that I was not in a pleasant mood. He came over to my car and I told him where the money was located. Again, he was aggressive! He then asked if they technician had seen the money. The technician, who by the way was very innocent in this matter, stated that he put the money in my glove box. The owner then started to swear even more by stating "that HE would not steal money".He then slammed my car door very hard and then started to scream "leave my premises, you fucker". I exclaimed "What the hell, you don't slam my car door like that!" He left to go inside. As I was leaving, I stopped to let the technician that he was not to blame for this. The owner then came out again and started to curse at me and telling me to get off his property. I have never had been subjected to such aggression or treatment as I got from this owner. I used to enjoy going into that garage. The people who were there previously where very cooperative and understanding and care about their customers. This owner does not care about his clients and from what I can see, does not mind taking advantage of his customers also. I can only say that they lost a good customer.
