I understand that this was not the supermarket's bad, but the manufacturer's bad. Either way, we weren't going to eat a bag of rice that had bugs in it and as a customer, it was the supermarket's issue with their supplier. So, I brought the rice back to return it and had to *argue with the staff* for them to believe me. They insisted that it was just string, so I asked them how could string be sticky or have this texture?! Anyway, they very adamantly let me exchange it and warned me that I couldn't just buy their product, eat it, then return it because I didn't like it. It was kind of ridiculous and rude. We didn't eat the rice because it was bad, and why would I waste my day carrying a 10lb bag of rice to return it if it was good? I went back again recently to stock up on my usual foods. The lady asked if I wanted a bag and I said yes. She warned me that they started charging 1kr for bags since about a month ago, but this time she wouldn't charge me because I didn't know. I said thank you and went home only to see on the receipt that she charged me anyway. I know it was only 1kr, but it was dishonest. So, it looks like they've hired some slightly rude and possibly dishonest people there now. Unfortunate, really. Albeit the service, I still come here to get my tofu, noodles, and condiments.

In terms of vegetables, if you're willing to look around, check Oriental Supermarket beforehand. Veggie prices are often about the same, but sometimes one store seems to have a fresher stock. A lot of the products are sort of dusty, so I usually check the expiration/package date on sauces just to make sure. So far, I haven't come across anything that's out of date.

Even if there is only one cash register, the business flows quickly. The staff know their stuff! We've gotten the small meat box a few times and they're always great, packaged in nice portions. Sometimes things are vacuum sealed, other times just in a plastic bag--but always sealed with a label of what it is. Sausages (~140-180kr/kg) and minced beef (100kr/kg) are amazingly fresh and flavorful. If you want to try the meat pies, the beef and smoked bacon one was quite quite tasty. Chicken breasts are of great quality; onion/bacon/beef burgers delicious. Love the steaks too. We've gotten a whole cornfed chicken from France once (125kr/kg) and the meat was tender and super flavorful. Carcass made an amazing soup. Basically everything we've gotten there has been fresh and excellent. We got the cooked ham to glaze during Xmas, and it was the best ham I think I've ever had. They didn't have hams less than 2kgs, but nonetheless took the time to open a prepackaged one and slice the amount I asked for (then vacuum seal it for me!). If you're looking for other English/Australian things, you can find Cadbury chocolates, Vegemite and other things. Staff are always helpful at the store, even by email they are quite efficient. Prices are reasonable for the quality you get. If you're looking for something they don't have, they encourage you to call in ahead of time so they can order it for you. Highly, highly recommend this butcher!

A neighborhood butcher in Kungsholmen, these guys hail from Ireland and have impressed upon the Swedes what good, quality, and local meats are. The quality of the meat is outstanding, and the service was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Most importantly, they understand the importance of locally grown meats, and they provide many options to their very loyal clientele, including meat boxes which provide a diverse selection of fresh meat, on a regular basis, delivered to your door at incredible prices (far more affordable than ICA or any other supermarket in Stockholm). You're doing yourself, your health, your community, your environment, and the future of the food industry a disservice by not buying all your meat here.

Here in Stockholm, it is a much harder find, and this is the only place I have found that carries them. The store is on the first floor of a school apparently, and since I was told it was 'The only Jewish school in Sweden', there was a fair amount of security to get into the building. I had to show ID and had my bag searched just to buy some hot dogs, but if you want something bad enough, you will jump through hoops... So -1 star for the 5 mins of questioning to get into the building, and for only have one choice for hot dogs. I'll go back, but it is because I have no other options.... but 4 stars, for even carrying them at all...

They have more than just Thai and Chinese groceries here. Plenty of Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc. ingredients, so don't let the name fool you. The walk-in cooler houses all the Asian veggies your heart desires. I know I mentioned it previously, but it is pretty awesome. They have the gochugaru that I like here as well, so I get a big package to make kimchi. Canned item selection is good as well. Oh, they have my grass jelly that I love! The closest subway stop is Fridhemsplan. It's a couple of blocks away. There is also bus 1 that you can take. There is street parking if you're driving. Walking, biking and e-scooter are great methods of transport to get here. You won't miss it, as it is on the corner of the street.
