I honestly couldn't recommend this place enough, and this is my first time here despite living down the street for about a decade. I have a small feral colony that I've been dealing with for quite a few years and one cat that I've been feeding for 8+ years has finally started to let me pet her about six months ago and then she kind of started staying here at the house (with the rest of my feral hoard that have adopted me previously) and her mouth was killing her, and once she started to basically claw her face off, I had to get her looked at as soon as possible, and EVVC got me an appointment fairly quickly, and the outlook turned out to be better than any of us expected, so I'm hoping and a couple of days she will enjoy a fairly pain-free life again because now she's a full-fledged part of the family! I honestly can't say enough good things about the staff; from the first phone call through the pick up they were extremely polite, professional, and just pleasures to speak with, and they take the appropriate amount of time for each client's case. Over the years, I've had some debt inducing trauma from vet bills and this may be the first time that I've ever had an estimate come in under the discussed estimate, so I will take those savings on this cat and immediately bring in another little Ferrell that needs some medical attention... as well as one of my own. read more

East Valley is a wonderful veterinary clinic. We take our two little guys there whenever needed, and Dr. Hohne and his staff always take excellent care of them. And without a doubt, Dr. Hohne's bedside manner is truly next level. He and his staff make you feel like family, not client. And he is gentle and caring with our fur babies. They even make reordering prescriptions super easy! No appointment needed, just call it in, or order it online and East Valley will review and approve it. No fuss no muss. Don't know if they do large animals or not, but I suspect not. Pro tip, don't bring your full-sized pickup to the clinic, the parking lot is pretty cramped, and even if you do make it in, it's a 3-point turn to get back out, and if there's a bunch of cars in there, it could get tricky. Other than that, you'll never regret taking your furry little freeloader to East Valley. Oh, and be sure to say hi to 'Thor' when you go in! He's a cute little white pup with the most loving disposition, who'll probably climb up on the counter to greet you! Just be careful with him; after all, he's "a little Thor." LOL read more

My fiancé has been bringing his dog here for most of his senior pup's life. Dr. Hart gets 5/5 stars for her excellent care and bedside manner, but I've redacted 1 star for the office management, which if rating the office management alone, I would rate 3/5 stars. I was impressed with Dr. Harts' attention and care to our senior pup who was recently diagnosed with cancer, that I decided to schedule an initial appointment here for my cat. With everything going on with our dog, I missed my initial appointment for my cat (had it in my calendar and everything, but was caught up in calling various oncologists about an experimental treatment for our pup recommended by Dr. Hart - which no local oncologist actually provides, unfortunately), and was sent a $50 bill for no-showing for my cats appointment - which fair - I dropped the ball. However, per my fiancé, historically, the office sends out reminder texts or emails - I reviewed my texts & emails - I received neither. I contacted the office to see if they could waive the $50 fee given our current circumstances, and the lack of reminder communication, or maybe take the $50 as a down payment towards a future scheduled appointment, and they were not amenable. I get the need to prevent recurring no-shows, but this was to be our first visit, so a little disappointed in the lack of understanding. read more

Let's start with some facts: They went down a list of services and products (vaccines), that were to be performed and administered that day, which included the rabies vaccine and FVRCP. They sent me home believing my cat was vaccinated for RABIES & Panleuk (FVRCP). They invoiced me for those Vaccine products...without administering them. They did NOT inform me at that time that they did NOT administer those vaccines. They did NOT contact me later about this mistake (I only found out about it because I had an appointment a week later for a different cat). When I arrived (a week later), with different cat, (also for the rabies vaccine), some girl entered the room and blurts out that they did NOT administer the rabies vaccine, or the FVRCP, for the other cat, the previous week, as they led me to believe, ...and as is shown on the invoice they charged me for, and sent me home with. Since they invoiced me for the rabies & FVRCP, the question is, did they "CHART" the vaccines? Proper medical procedure is to administer the vaccine, and then "CHART" the rabies vaccine and fill in the time and date it was administered. If they did NOT "CHART" the vaccines, then they should not have invoiced them. And, they should have informed right then and there, that they did not administer them. If they DID "CHART" the Rabies vaccine, but did not administer the vaccine, then they violated the whole document control procedure for administering vaccines and the "CHARTING" process for handling vaccines. Bottom line is, they sent me home with an animal that I thought was vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP), and that may have resulted in the animal coming into contact with wild animals such as raccoons and skunks without any protection for the diseases they carry. And my back yard is next to a creek with racoons and skunks are in my yard every night. When I asked for a refund for the products and services they failed to administer and perform, they refused and said I would have to wait for the manager to call me the next week. I asked for a copy of the "CHARTS" for all the cats so I can hand them off to another vet. (BTW, The manager did not even know what "Chart" or "charting" meant; I had to explain it, and the whole charting procedure to her). When I asked for them to administer, or reimburse for, a titer test to verify what they actually did, or did NOT administer to the animals, they refused. Frankly, they should pay for those tests, because it was their neglect and bad document control procedures that caused this situation. I had to cancel plans for another weekend to deal with the problems they created, and I had to schedule a visit with a different veterinarian clinic. I also had to move back my schedule for re-introducing the cats to the outside, for which I have already scheduled vacation time. I encountered some weird and lame excuses (a week later), as to why they Charted, & Invoiced the Vaccines they later claimed to have not administered: The first girl said the cat was sleeping from surgery and so they didn't want to bother her with a rabies shot. Yet, she was wide awake when they brought her out to take home. (They did NOT inform me that no vaccines were actually administered). Another girl tried to claim she was too young to be vaccinated. But She's about 6 months old. Even their own doctor said the cat he examined was 5-6 months old. I know this to be correct based on when the animals appeared with their now deceased mother, at the beginning of November. At which time multiple people commented that the kittens looked about 8-12 weeks old. They were almost weened at that time. So their age at the time of their first veterinary visit was 5-6 months, well within the acceptable time to get them vaccinated for rabies. So that excuse is just that, an excuse to cover their false documentation These clowns have no clue how to document and administer things like RABIES vaccines. Finally, they treated me like it was my fault, not their own. read more

These guys are our heroes. After a tearful and scary 8 months of troubleshooting food choices, lumps, bowel blockage, colitis, vomiting, and fistulas with our previous vet, and many $$$$ later, Rocco wasn't improving, he was only getting worse with stiff and bloody stools and losing weight. He was so constipated at one point that I was forced to excavate, if you know what I mean.... Luckily I was able to get Rocco seen at EVVC. Dr. Mark Hohne and Mike - his (vet tech) took control of the situation, and after one visit understood what was going on with Rocco. Three weeks later after our first visit, Rocco is 100% back to what he was in July 2023. I should add, he's not the easiest dog to handle. He's a reactive pit bull. Mike handled him with incredible mastery! It was an excellent experience and when you walk in you are greeted by the most friendly, down to earth people including Mike and Doug the rottweilers! This is where I want my pets to be cared for. I can't say enough about them-- with Dr. Hohne's and his tech's almost 40 years of experience you are getting solid care and expertise. Going to the vet has never been fun since my dog has had traumatic experiences in the past with other vet. I decided to come here on the recommendation of my neighbor and I wished I had listened to him sooner. While my dog knew exactly where he was, Dr. Perez made sure he felt comfortable before starting the exam. To our surprise, he went up and licked her face - something we've NEVER seen him do with our other vet. Like us, I think he felt her genuineness and kindness, which helped put him at ease. She explained everything clearly so we understood our options. Never once did we feel pressured in doing something. Then time to give him his shots and this is where we've had issues in the past. Since our dog was terrified, the other vet refused to give him a shot if we wanted to be there with him to help keep him calm and would suggest that we put him to sleep to do the most mundane treatments due to his anxiety. Luckily, East Valley was different. Not only did they allow us to be in the room, which helped significantly, but Mike (the awesome vet tech that we got), gave him the shots so fast that I blinked and it was over. After that, our dog was so happy and even went up to give Mike kisses. The front desk staff was super nice as well and their pricing is very reasonable I can't say enough how awesome this place is. I am so taken back by the care that was provided today at our second visit where we were present for a check up. We saw Dr. Hahn and I got to witness first hand how fantastic he is. He is a true doctor, took the time to be hands on and make accurate diagnosis and decisions based on my dog's whole picture. That is rare for any doctor now a days and hard to find.. some docs are cut out to be docs, and he is one of them... He has common sense, and for that I trust him with my pets. I brought my puppy here 5 years ago, we were loyal clients. Dr.Hohne and the vet staff were excellent. They took great care of my nervous dog all these years and made him feel calm. I'm very disappointed how I was treated by the front desk over a procedure quote I was given originally be the doctor. A few months after receiving the quote, I was ready to move forward with the treatment for my dog, the quote was then given to me in writing by the office and it was almost $400 more. I questioned it and asked about the original quote. The office could not simply tell me if prices and policies changed in the new year. I even asked if THAT was the situation. Nobody could answer this yes or no question. I was treated very poorly and told by the front desk the doctor did not make the pricing. And the prices were per the newly written quote. OK? I don't understand the logic after receiving a quote in my animal's chart by the doctor in the first place, but whatever. After a few rounds of this nonsense, I agreed to pay the inflated rate. And sucked up the extremely poor customer service. One unprofessional front desk lady wasn't going to ruin the good care my pet had been receiving all these years. I should have taken it as a sign....My dog had the procedure. It went well. However, a few days after I realized he came home with a massive flea infestation. It was so bad it took weeks to get a handle on. And he got a skin terrible infection from the event. That was salt in the overpriced procedure wound. I really want to like this veterinarian clinic. I have had very good experiences with the doctors, but there is lack on professionalism and maybe training in the reception area. Early February: I had an appointment with our dog. When checking out- I asked the receptionist (invoice says Mayra) if the amount due was for a recheck. She proceeded to give me attitude advising me that the amount I was paying was for a recheck. Noted, but she lacked professionalism. At this point I was done with the attitude and just walked away. As I approached the car, I forgot to make the monthly appointment. So instead of walking back I decided to call and ask for the appointment (typically they give me the appointment a month in advance without issues). When I advised the same receptionist that I forgot to schedule my appointment she said "what do you want me to do. It's a month from now". I proceeded to tell her I never had issues scheduling my appointment ahead of time. She then advised me that she is unable to make the appointment that far in advance and they will call me 2 weeks before it's time for the appointment. Never had an issue scheduling the appointment ahead of time. However, I left it as is- NEVER got a call back. Mid-February: We scheduled an appointment for our cat. As I said, we really want to like this clinic. We came in said "hi" and checked in on time. 40 minutes went by and we approached the receptionist and advised them we had been waiting there for a while. The same receptionist - was so rude and stated we had not signed in. We clearly said we did and showed the sign in. She gave us attitude as she said "sorry". Early March- We are now scheduled to get our cat spayed. Did not have an issue until we got home and we placed the carrier down as we got out the car. Next thing we know- the carriers door flew open and our cat was running down the street. We found her 3 days later very scared. We understand mistakes will happen, but I would think they would at least ensure cats are secured. We called the office and they just stated to leave food outside and call her name. Now, I understand not much can be done, however, we got a microchip this same day. We figured, we will register it and hopefully if she is found they can call us. Except, although we paid $65 the microchip company stated we had to pay an additional $40 to register her. I take care of many of my families pet vet visits (10 microchipped and registered), and never had to pay any additional amount. Everything is typically included when we chip them. This was also not disclosed to us by the clinic. Like I said. I really like the doctors in this clinic, but some trainings or changes should be made- at the least. read more

The staff was so accommodating even when I didn't have an appointment and Dr. Hart was so kind. She walked me through all her concerns and made sure my cat was all taken care of before she sent her home. They even followed up the next day to make sure she was alright. Still love this vet. They saved my dog Max's life. Long story short, my dog ate poison and they had me rush him in and did EVERYTHING as soon as we walked in. This could have turned out so bad, and we were so panicked, but they all worked together to make sure we were well informed of the situation, the prognosis, and the care needed after we left. Dr. Hohne, at East Valley Veterinary Clinic was caring for my doggy, Jax, and his medications. Until the day, I went for Jax's appointment, and was left sitting in our vehicle for about 45 minutes (going on an hour). I called multiple times asking what was going on? You can't ask someone to arrive on time for an appointment and leave them sitting there so long, without expecting that person to be upset. When I was finally told to come inside for our appointment, the lady with the long blonde hair acted like I was screaming on the phone and said that she could hear me while speaking with the other front desk person. I found this so odd. But, said yes, I am upset (but, by no means was I yelling), this is absolutely not right! I felt as if the delay was done on purpose. Especially, because there was only one couple in the waiting room, and another lady came walking in after I was told to have a seat (rudely). And, I was previously informed of the notes on their computer stating that I was a bitch (I couldn't understand why I was being treated badly by new people to the clinic that I hadn't even met or spoke to previously). The two front desk ladies (one tried to be nice and stayed quiet, and the other, was the rude lady I had issues with) were super nice to the new customer and immediately began helping her? I'm trying to understand why, after waiting for close to an hour in my vehicle for Jax's appointment, we are not getting helped. Until the rude lady walked up looking down on me with a smirk and a smile (in her eyes she had won something), she hands me the files for all of my animals over the last 30 years, and says you won't be seeing Dr. Hohne today. I said, what? why? She said, because you are a bitch and I spoke to Dr. Hohne and he's asked me to tell you to find another clinic. I said that I wanted to see him (thinking surely after 30 years, and this lady not being at his clinic for anywhere near this amount of time, that he would want to hear what "truly" happen). I was told No! And, after, seeing the way she exaggerated my "yelling" over the phone when I came inside, I just could only imagine what was being said to the doctor! She said again, "that's not going to happen, you need to leave, and find another clinic for your dog". I said, you know what, I'm going to sue this office, and you are the real bitch here! She smiled and open the door to go back inside the office part of the room. Ooh! You want to talk about upset! My dog was bloating really bad, and you would think if you diagnose someone's dog with heart disease, you would prepare them for what's to come. But, I wasn't informed of anything, other than the medication that I was to give Jax. So, I'm super scared, not understanding what's going on with my dog, and now I need to begin from scratch with another doctor, and let's mention the cost as well, and immediately find a vet that has a heart doctor! After, making numerous calls and finding a vet a bit of a ways from me, they contacted Dr. Hohne's office for approval to fill Jax's medication that day, since we were completely out, it ended up being for days because of this fiasco, and their refusal to give the approval, or acknowledge that Dr. Hohne prescribed that medication to Jax. The new clinic was not aware of the Cardalis medication that was prescribed by Dr. Hohne, and would need to research before they could prescribe to my baby. It was truly awful, and I couldn't stop crying at the new vet, trying to explain what I had already experienced, and how worried I was about Jax bloating, and not receiving his medication. VCA Glendale went completely out of their way to do everything they could to get Jax his medicine as soon as possible. They explained everything to me in detail about why Jax was bloating (fluid build up from a leaky valve in his heart, that would eventually kill him ), and they seen Jax and I every single week from that point on, to drain fluids from his little beautiful body until two days before Jax passed away on September 16th, 2022 (months). Horrible staff, terrible costumer service. We arrived earlier to our appointment, and made us wait until that time. It's reasonable when there are bunch of appointments and they are catching up with appointments; we waited while it was empty. The doctor wasn't even on lunch, it was just the staff acting like if we were asking for charity. The doctor was the only one who treated us courteously. Staff show courtesy, no one is begging you for charity we are paying you. It would have been nice to be deducted your BS from my bill. Since I didn't I am in all my right, to share what my experience was like and hopefully you do something about it. Take your pet elsewhere, you are paying you deserve to be treated better. read more

The entire staff of this clinic is amazing: Dr. Hohne and Dr. Hart, vet technicians, receptionists, assistants... I can't say enough good words about these people. They are very professional and carrying. We have tried different vet clinics and no one is as good as Dr. Hart and Dr. Hohne. Dr. Hart became our primary care vet for three of our cats and my daughter's dog. But when she was absent, Dr. Hohne stepped in and I must say, I trust these two - whatever they say, is always correct and to the point. Dr. Hohne performed an emergency surgery on my daughter's dog Skye when she had bladder stones. The ER diagnosed Skye with UTI, although x-ray clearly indicated stones in her bladder. Dr. Hart takes care of our three cats and their problems. I just wish they would be available 24/7 for emergency services, because of how good they are! We recently lost our youngest cat to a snake bite. Unfortunately it happened Friday night and we rushed to ER. The vet in ER misdiagnosed our cat with some allergic reaction and she wasn't treated properly. I was trying to schedule the appointment with Dr. Hart for Saturday, but she wasn't working that day and Dr. Hohne was fully booked. I scheduled appointment for Monday, hoping it won't be too late. Meanwhile three different vet gave us three different diagnosis but no one say "snake bite" although there were two distinct hair spikes on cat's head. We had to say last goodbye to her on Sunday, and I called the East Valley clinic and left voice mail cancelling our Monday appointment with Dr. Hart. I explained in the voice mail what happened. To my surprise Dr. Hart called me on Monday to express her condolences and took her time to talk to me and explained what she thinks it was based on her 30 years of experience. Our entire family is forever grateful to her. I told my husband that is would move, I will continue to bring our cats to East Valley Clinic no matter how far it'll be from our new home :). read more

They hired a vet named Dr Heart. I took my dog in just to get her heart and lungs checked because she has an enlarged heart and I wanted to make sure she was ok before I left for a two week vacation. My dog has a strange cough that is directly related to her heart condition. She has had the cough for about two years. It only happens about two time a day. Dr. Heart wanted a new Xray. I approved the X-ray since my dog had not had one for about a year. Dr. Heart wanted to treat her cough. I kept telling her I did not think it was going to help. Up until now I've been a pretty trusting person. I'm not a vet. She told me she wanted to put her on antibiotics and steroids to treat the cough. She told me she didn't think my dog had an infection since there was no temperature and she didn't act like she had an infection, but she decided to give her antibiotics anyway saying that my dog might have an infection in her lungs. I was sceptical but followed her directives. She also told me she thought my dog had Cushing disease and gave me a brochure on it. I told her she had none of the symptoms on the paper she gave me. By the time I got done giving her the meds. My dog was not the same! She was going underneath the couch and would not come out. She would no longer jump into the car. She did not want to take her walks. She was not eating correctly. When I took her back to see the other vet, Dr. Haune (I refused to see Dr. Heart!) he told me that he did not think it was the medication and proceeded to try and convince me, for about 25 minutes that it was NOT the meds. By the time I got done I told him that I thought he just was trying to protect himself from a lawsuit. I told him I wanted to know whether or not my dog was gonna live. He assured me she was gonna live, but I will never return to that vet again. By the time I was done, I had spent $420 for something that didn't even need to be treated. My dog was weak and acted strange for another week and is back to her old self now I will never go back again! read more

I've been bringing my dogs here for many years and I drive 2 hours to get there because it's by far the best vet clinic I've ever been to. Dr Hahn and Dr. Hart are awesome, as well as the entire staff. These people LOVE animals and are extremely kind and compassionate. I would never have anyone else operate on my dogs other than Dr. Hahn. Besides being extremely knowledgable, he is intuitive when it comes to animals. Our pit is about 7 years old and she has never had any health issues, up until a couple months ago when she started to have a growth on her stomach. Me and my boyfriend looked for vets all over the valley to find the best one to help our baby out. Other vets didn't understand that this growth was urgent and didn't have any time to fit her in, but the same day we called in to East Valley for Fiona's checkup, we were in that same day a couple hours later. We filled out some paperwork (the women in the front are SUPER nice as well, not sure why people say otherwise) , and got right in to see the doctor (Dr. Klumb). After determining our dog needed a removal, she answered all our questions and the women in the front got us a quote right away. The whole appointment was very quick and easy. Today, we brought Fiona in for the removal before 8 am. By 12 pm, Dr. Klumb called us to let us know that everything went great and we could come pick up our dog. She was very informative and caring with our dog. I definitely recommend this vet! All the employees were super sweet and let us know everything we needed to take care of her post-op. read more

I have been coming to this vet for years with my previous dogs and never had any issue up until recently. First I bring my new puppy in and they assumed what breed she was without asking and even after correcting them they hadn't changed it. Then I bring my cat in for a checkup and to schedule a procedure for a Friday. They changed the date of the procedure without calling and informing me of the change. I only knew due to my mom calling thinking it was for a Wednesday since I was out of town and told her she would have to drop him off. I called to confirm the appointment and asked why it was changed and Myra said it's because they don't do surgery on Fridays. I got no notice of appt change, never received any information on surgery prep instructions like no food after a certain time or drop off time. When I brought it up to the front desk's attention the day of his procedure they noticed the appointment was modified twice and stated they would talk to Myra AGAIN. When I got my cat back from his procedure the IV catheter was still on him but by the time I got home noticed this they were closed. Fortunately I work in the medical field and knew how to take an IV catheter out. When I brought him back for his stitch removal, Max brushed me off when I brought it up to his attention. No apology for leaving it on just said "on the rare occasion that it happens we have people bring their pets back the next day". I wasn't going to leave the catheter on him overnight due to blood still leaking out and it being an opening for bacteria to get into. Worst vet I've ever dealt with in my life. My dog has a broken leg & they said "well the doctor doesn't feel like seeing your dog" i have never in my life felt so disrespected & this business should not be allowed to handle pets. Front desk staff are awful, slow, incompetent and rude. Absolutely unprofessional and uncommunicative. Brandy is obnoxious and on a power trip. I have been seeing Dr. Hohne for over 20 years, but after our last experience with a $1500 charge for a mistake on their part (retained tooth root abscess), I received all my files and will seek a new clinic that is honest, professional, and kind. Also, be aware that they allow vet techs to perform tooth extractions and do not x-ray or radiograph afterwards to ensure that the entire tooth root has been extracted. If a section is left, it can become infected and become a nightmare that is painful and traumatic. I wish Dr. Hohne would realize the harm his front staff inflicts upon his business. read more

I was a customer for at least 20 years as I've had rescues , dogs and cats, and visited Dr Hohne regularly with my pets , everything at east valley vet has gone bad for so long , at least the last 4 visits Dr Hohne never even called me at all , and I had to find out what was wrong with my kid (pet) second hand from the staff , seems the longer I was a client the worse they treated me . The last time I went with my senior Shih Tzu , one of the girls behind the desk says " he needs a dental " before any diagnosis from the doctor, well it would have been the third dental in two years and I knew that wasn't the problem, he's had almost all his teeth pulled. They did nothing, found nothing, no more teeth to clean or pull but yet charge me $950 for basically nothing. The only way I could talk to Dr Hohne at all was to make another appointment just to speak to him , I could go on a long time but trust me as a long time client of theirs they really don't care at all about you or your pet but just care about how much money they swipe in the credit card machine daily , I have seen it first hand . Dr Hohne really let me down , said he was going to check my boy the next day , he wasn't there so had his other vet check my boy again . And she overdosed him on sedation for X-rays , thought he was going to die , so I had to make another appointment with him just to talk and he didn't care about anything I was unhappy with . I called in advance to see if I can take my dog and ask what time they close, they said they close at 6 and would be able to get my dog checked out. So I get there after I get off from work and I am told he cannot be seen because the vet left. Apparently, the vet leaves at 4 even though closing hours are at 6 and my dog would not be able to be seen. Honestly, never again! Waste of time. My dog's original vet is North Figueroa Animal Hospital, only reason I tried this place was because I am working during this pandemic and I thought this vet would be open like they said they would. Love Dr. Hon! I have been going to this veterinarian place for years... and the vets are amazing. The staff is super friendly and try their best to help you. I am shocked some people have bad experiences because I ONLY had great ones. 3 of my dogs have been going there for the last 10 years. Nothing bad to say. And it is AFFORDABLE! You don't have to go broke to help your sick/injured animal. Their prices are very reasonable and when they give me estimates for a procedure... they always charge less because some stuff ended up not being necessary... amazing! Could give 0 stars if I could. I went it for a wellness exam & they ended up taking my dog to the back "so the DR and tech can take a look at her" they came back with my dogs eye hairs cut and bleeding. They did not even ask for my consent on top of that. Extremely unprofessional place. Will not be returning. Who in the hell does something to a pet without asking the owner ???!
