Primarily used for sports games or tourneys: baseball, soccer, and football. It's lined with massive eucalyptus trees that have aged with the park, they're simply beautiful. There is a nice playground at the very back end of the park, against the neighboring school. It's behind the fence barrier, therefore kids are mostly safe from any flying baseballs, soccer balls or other. There are also basketball courts next to the kids playground. This used to have a swimming pool. The pool is still there, but is now considered part of the recreational gym that was built onsite, on the park premises. It is open to the public during certain seasons.

I've also brought kids I nanny here for walks and fresh air (sticking to the easier areas), and it's such a great space to reset. One thing to note: when it's hot, be cautious of snakes on the trails--proper shoes and awareness are important. In the middle of the park is the toddler playground and then at the end of the park is the larger playground area for older children. There is lots of grass and a grass hillside. The highlight for me was the toddler playground. I work with children and often like to meet at parks to see their gross motor skills and work on them. This is one of the few parks left I have seen with sand. The park was very clean and even though there were many dogs off leash running around, pet owners were quite aware of where their dogs were and I didn't see any dog poop in the grass. You also can't beat that gorgeous ocean view. I came on a Friday late afternoon when they don't charge a park fee. Big plus!

The structures include a playground, several full basketball courts, restrooms, an eating area, and grills placed through the park. At the outskirts there are large fields of grass where people usually play soccer or toss around a football. My favorite feature is the track around the perimeter of the park. The track is made of that rubbery material made to aid runners. A lot of people use the track so be sure to walk to one side or be attentive when I'm a group. There are small workout fixtures around the park too but no one uses them.

There's a small grassy area, small play structure with a slide, a couple benches and picnic tables, a tiny BBQ grill, and a half basketball court. No drinking fountain or restrooms. The surroundings are fairly quiet save for the occasional light aircraft from the nearby airport. The park looks out over crop fields to the south, a reminder of Camarillo's agricultural beginnings. There's not a whole lot here in terms of recreation, which is unfortunate since this is the only park in this residential area. As the park district continues improving parks around the city, hopefully this one will get some much needed love.

Plaza park is centrally located in the heart of Oxnard…read more They hold the farmers market every Thursday from 9am to 2 pm. They also have the dancing Christmas lights extravaganza on the pagoda that starts early December til the first week of January from 5pm til 10pm. The giant Christmas tree is also lit up. The kids love it and so do I. We have been going for years and never miss it. The parking lot is next to the park and is kind of small and parking can be a bit of a challenge especially on Friday nights and weekends. There is a parking structure right around the corner on 3rd and B. There is also plenty of street parking.
