BEWARE!!!Awful! Just awful! No security, no money for security, drab,cheap. Teenage and gangster hang out. No families, children for old people seen on my visit today. People are scared to go since they had that shooting in the parking lot out front last year. More than likely, it will close soon. And they'll turn it into another Police station like they did the old Montgomery Mall. So sad, goodbye Eastdale Mall. This used to be the Place to hang out in the '70s and '80s. There are a lot of urban clothing stores gearing towards a particular demographic. I still don't see any mall security driving around the times I take my grandkids to chuck e cheese, and it's dark when we leave. I don't feel safe if you go in there.I don't feel safe taking my family there. There is no security. Although they have a sign saying, teenagers must be accompanied by a parent in the evening on weekends, it is not enforced. I see people teenagers being dropped off there. There's also a sign on the door no weapons allowed. Wouldn't have many customers if they put up a metal detector as I can guarantee you most of those rough looking gangster.Types are packing heat when going inside the mall. What today and made a photo of Spencer's, have fond memories of when I took my son there. I wanted to send him a photo. I don't see many cameras around inside the main mall corridor or in the parking lot. The food court is closed totally and got it out. They need to update their google facts about them mall. It is inaccurate, the ice skating rent closed years ago. There is a roller skating rink. Now, that was totally dead in the late afternoon. There was some kind of restaurant that used to be there that has closed. It is not a welcoming place. You feel like a minority in a secret membership club. Dirty floors and bathrooms. Selling cheap cell phones, cheap jewelry stores, cheap kids toys, cell phone repairs. Cheap sunglasses, watches every kiosk that can sell cheap stuff Is there. Meanwhile, all the nice stores are closing and leaving for good reason! It's very sad. It used to be a nice small, you used to see families and children but not anymore. Even my kids don't want me taking the grandkids after that shooting, they say, "Go to Eastchase!" There are no more nice decorations. There is no money, no more flowers in the planters outside. Since the home store closed over a year ago, no one knew has moved in in that spot. Before that, it was Sears, before that, it was Montgomery.Ward, when I used to work there. Maybe that's why the renter cop didn't want me making photos of all the stores that closed. He said, people don't want their photos taken and posted, I explained to him one picture I was making for my son and some other pictures of different and new stores to post on facebook check in as free advertising. Guess they don't want free advertising their businesses booming without it! I still shop at Dillard's outlet there. But they have the entrance to the mall blocked off. Chuck Cheese has very slow busines. The manager told me they were trying to relocate to Eastchase Mall, Iguess it didn't work out. I honestly don't see how the mall is still open. I thought the rent a cops harassment was ignorant, aggressive and rude. As far as yelling at me about making photos was unprofessional and unfounded. There are no pictures or signs, forbidden photography within them all, and the code of conduct when you first walk into the mall like in a high school. It says nothing about such a rule. It mainly concentrates on violent behavior because they realize what kind of demographic population is shopping and hanging out there! Many of the kiosks in the middle are standing empty as you can see on the photos. Really? Getting bent out of shape. It's really funny to me because there weren't even any people there for me to make pictures of. The place was totally dead, and this was in the late afternoon on a Friday. This is the biggest indoor mall in Montgomery. The mall is located 6 miles away from the downtown. At 7:00 pm, this mall has a low traffic for people. The tax in Alabama is 10% and it is difficult to encourage sales. The mall has a few anchor stores like Sears, J C Penny, Belk, and Dillard. These are not the high end stores. But this mall does have an ice ring. I can see some youngster in the ring practice their jump and loop. Their movement is beautiful. As a visitor from out of state, I feel the living standard here is low and affordable. Since the state of Alabama do not have much of gas tax, the sale tax is high and may stir away and discourage me to buy more in the mall. But the low price of the items actually makes up the different in mall sales. The stores here is typical I can find in strip shopping center in Florida. They have not much to offer. read more

They're trying. I honestly don't even blame the mall. I blame the city of Montgomery, planning board. They've allowed all the large brands to open up new stores on the other side of town and it creates a vacuum that sucks every other business away from other parts of town. read more

Need a mall? I guess this is worth the stop if you need American Eagle or Bath and Body Works. Otherwise just hit the Shoppes at EastChase. That's a nice outdoor open area. Prattville has some nice shops too. read more

For a standard mall, I would have to say this one is pretty nice!! It's fairly good size: 4 department stores including Belk's, Sears, Dillard's, and JC Penny. It's nicely decorated with several fountains, a large carousel for the kids to ride, and even an ice skating rink. Very cool. (see my pics). All in all, there is a nice variety of stores, and a pretty good food court!! Even with the poor economy right now, there were very few empty stores... that says a lot for a mall nowadays!! read more

Small/ very few stores to chose from. It had a indoor ice skating rink bt it was super small. Not much to chose from.

Lots of stores, but the whole atmosphere of the mall was off. There was no one there and everything just seemed slow. The stores are mostly specific and there could be a better selection. read more

Truly an experience. We stopped on a road trip during a bad storm and I think the employees were just happy to see other human beings. It was giving backrooms, it was giving liminal space, I would even say it was giving horror movie. The moment I stepped through the doors and onto the stained laminate every bone in my body was telling me to leave, run, something is wrong. There are no customers at this mall. It is farther than six feet under, this mall is rotting, the ceilings were leaking in four different places, but the roads were still too dangerous to drive on so we pushed onward. We found ourselves inside the chuck-e-cheese, but alas there was only tired staff members; there was not a customer or child in sight. Thank you Eastdale Mall. Five stars. read more

Just does not seem to be much of a selection here. JCPenney, Dillards, Belk, Sears. Food court and some kiosks seem to sum up most of the shop selections. The ice skating rink certainly does provide something unique to this mall, and I am sure it is a draw for families. I just hope your ice skating adventure is a lot more pleasant than the one my family had most recently. We thought it would be something the kids would enjoy. Pretty cool mall with lots of stores. I don't live in the area, so I haven't been to this mall much over the years, but I've always thought it was the coolest mall in Montgomery mainly because of the ice skating rink. Not that I ice skate - I just think it's neat! read more

It is not the best mall that I have ever attended, but it has been my go-to mall for over 30 years. I have seen it go through major changes, but it has withstood the test of time. It has the staple anchor stores--- Belk's, JCPenneys, Dillard's and Sears. There are numerous other specialty stores throughout the mall, but it has one feature that stands out--- The ice- skating rink!!!!! This is wear I learned to ice skate in L.A.'s (Lower Alabama) Satan- hot weather. Plus, it was a cool (literally) place to chill during the hot summer, spring, and fall days. There is a movie theater is the mall that has been there as long as I can remember, and it is still there! Yes, there are other places to shop at in Montgomery with better stores, such as Eastchase, but who in there right mind is going to shop an outdoor strip mall in blazing Alabama heat?!?! read more

The best thing about this mall is the iceskating rink. This is a one-level mall with a scant selection of stores. I was told that there was a newer outdoor mall just a hop, skip, and a jump down the road, and that the stores relocated to the new area. read more

Possibly the worst mall ever. Usually food court Chinese is ok. But somehow they managed to screw that up. Even South DeKalb Mall in Atlanta is better. Old and dilapidated. read more

Stopped by the mall tonight to get in a little last minute shopping.. Huge mistake. I had predicted the demise of this mall a few years ago, I did not expect my prediction to come to past so quickly. I counted at least a dozen empty locations, and most of the stores inside are catering to a specific ethnic group with baggy pants. The Dillard's looked like the left over crap from a goodwill store, Sears was empty, most of the stores were empty unless I wanted a ball cap, baggy pants, a pin stripped suit with square toe shoes. It is very very said, I grew up in this mall and I have never felt unsafe at this mall until tonight, I was without a doubt "out of place" in here tonight and felt scared on several occasions. It looks like the owners, Aronov, are trying to keep it up, but with a declining clientele the shops are leaving in droves and it shows. They need to shut this place down and raze it before something bad happens here. read more

This mall's food court is one of the most derelict in Alabama, and does not have many options. However, I did enjoy the Sweet and Spicy Love place in the mall, and I will probably return to this mall for this food option. read more

Eastdale is a great mall. It has ice skating, which you don't find any where else, and many stores with upbeat fashions. You can stop by the Auntie Ann's for a fresh pretzel and Cinnabon for dessert! Then head off to movie! read more

Pulled into mall pretty late (11:40pm 4/14/16). Was dropping off a friend who hadn't seen his brother in almost 4 years. His brother is stationed at Maxwell Gunter base. Have never been to Montgomery so we picked an obvious landmark to meet (if I'd known the Waffle House was across the street, would have suggested to meet there). Was traveling from Biloxi on way to Cincinnati. One car has Ohio tags the other Washington. Their is luggage being transferred between the two. Security guard pulls up and says we have to leave immediately. We explain why we are there while the brother is loading luggage . Security says we can't do that and have to leave immediately. States he has already had a call and a complaint (it's 11:45pm). Also states that there are multiple cameras and we are being watched (okay, so they must see we are taking luggage from one car to the other). The security guard threatens to call police and cite us with trespassing if we don't leave immediately. Complete stereotypical "Mall Cop" special forces. read more
