All that aside, given that I order weirdly when I eat barbecue, here's what I can say: RIBS. Ribs, ribs, ribs. I didn't add any sauce (see above), but they don't need it! The chicken is also flavorful, but I think it got a little dry (this is on me; I did take out instead of eating there), so would definitely recommend using sauce with that. I didn't have the brisket yet, but others in my family have had it and really liked it. LOVE their corn bread. Their potato salad is different from any other I've had; it took me a minute and then grew on me. The mac 'n cheese is kind of like if you've ever been in the south and had pimento cheese sandwiches, but melted and poured over macaroni. Everything has a kick, which I really appreciated it -- enough to get me to pay attention, but not so much as to be unpleasant. Definitely plan on returning -- folks are super nice there, too.

The Leasing Coordinator, Gail, is friendly, pleasant to do business with, and has helped us on several occasions when we needed to discuss leasing options. The grounds and buildings are well-kept and improvements are made continuously. For instance, they just added a free workout room with nice equipment. Snow removal is prompt. When we have required repairs to appliances or plumbing, the Super was always cooperative, timely, and helpful. There is also a pool in the complex but we haven't used it. The lease allows cats but not dogs, which may be the reason we eventually choose another place to live. We are currently on a lease extension for 6 months, which adds to the cost of our monthly payment but gives us the option to move out with 60-days-notice. I have heard that the rent is lower in other complexes, but I can't complain about the value.

They always get things done in a timely and thorough manner, and they're always so polite and kind - even when we ask them a million questions! Most recently, we had an issue with our heat not working and had to call the emergency maintenance number two nights in a row around 4:30am (it would work then stop, work then stop - so they had to keep coming back). Each time, the guys responded quickly and were here within 15-20 minutes. With two sick parents who are incredibly sensitive to cold, it was vital we get the heat back up and running ASAP - and maintenance did just that. We also had a medical emergency a few months back, when our fridge had a mechanical issue that caused it to get too cold - it was freezing the medicine my mom had to keep refrigerated!! I went to management, who contacted maintenance right away, and we had a replacement fridge within hours. No apartment complex is without its faults, but when you have a great management and maintenance team, ready to do whatever necessary to help you, some faults can often be overlooked.

I had left work early for the appointment and drove across town only to be told that the minimum credit score to rent there was 650, of course I could have saved time and gas if I had been told this on the phone. The complex is really nothing special but because of the shortage of decent housing in the area the landlords have decided to exclude hard working people over a number we all know is not an accurate way of determining whether or not I can afford the rent (I actually have near perfect credit, I'm a late blooming victim of the 2008 crisis and had to finally give up my home to the bank, which dropped my score a few points below their threshold, we also make more than enough to afford living there). Our leasing agent told us there was no exceptions to the rule and went on to tell us about how she denied an 87 year old lady from living at the complex because she had never had any credit cards in her life (no established credit at all).

If management spent as much time addressing maintenance and infrastructure issues as they do crafting PR responses online, this property would be in much better shape. On top of that, the parking situation has become unnecessarily difficult. Residents are already registered to park here, yet management suddenly mandated parking permits in a way that only made life harder for tenants and, in my opinion, directly contradicts what many residents originally agreed to in their leases. For anyone considering living here: read the reviews carefully and don't just rely on management's responses. The replies sound professional, but the actual follow-through has consistently been disappointing.
