They do book quickly, and it's always busy in the waiting room. I usually have to schedule my 6 month cleanings 2-3 months ahead of time (but they send you a little reminder card, like most dental places, so that's no big deal). For a routine cleaning, after a 20 minute wait in the waiting room, you are brought back to an area for X-rays and general review by dentist (usually another 10 minute wait in the chair). You then have to go to another location for your dental brushing and floss. For my recent filling, I waited in the waiting room for 25 minutes, sat in the dental chair for another 15. The actual filling procedure took maybe 5 minutes (10 at the most). Once you are being helped, everything is completed quickly, so I tend to bring a book with me (as I do for all doctor's visits)- makes the wait more bearable. read more

I want to share a horrific experience that could have gone better if the dental staff was more compassionate. I had a tooth pulled. It was traumatic in the fact that my tooth was not coming out. If he could have put his foot on my face to pull, he would have! An x-ray should have been taken when it was evident it was very difficult to extract. However, that didn't happen, and my tooth came out leaving a hole in my sinus! Of course no responsibility for the months of antibiotics, infection and pain I was in until I saw an oral surgeon who had to clean out my sinus cavity. I sent a letter asking for help with the bills as I was laid off due to COVID. Not one person responded! I suggest because of the lack of compassion or response, do not go here! They also double book patients as I found out a little too late. Not a pleasant experience all around. read more

I had a 2 pm appt, I sat there til 3:30 & when 1 of the hygienist called a lady that came in after me, I got up to ask what was going on. Front desk called me up to inform me that " I asked for a certain hygienist when I made the appt." That is something that I would never, ever do. What do I care who cleans my teeth ??? I want to get in & get out, period. It never falls. Dentists & Docters alike ALWAYS, ALWAYS blame the patients for THEIR mistakes. That's what the 2 stars represent. The Dentist is always nice & the hygienist as well. The front desk needs to get it together. And the way she spoke to me was uncalled for as well. I was treated by Eastern dental in Cinnaminson New Jersey and Hamilton New Jersey This is the worst dental practice I have ever been to In my entire life!!! Only reason why they get a two is because the staff is nice here. They make you wait 3-4 hours to get your teeth cleaned. And all they say is your next your next. I make an apt at 8am and here it's now 1030am and my daughter is still waiting for her teeth cleaned. Two hours ago they brought her back to X-ray and look at her teeth. No one in two hours has been called back to have their teeth cleaned either. It's really annoying. I have been coming here for almost ten years and this is the last time. The practice itself is not bad. This review is negative based on their office staff. The dentist I saw was excellent and did a great job on my fillings. She was very gentle and caring. However, the supervisor scheduled my cleaning neglected to inform me of the cost beforehand. The dentist actually wanted me to move up my appointment because I was experiencing discomfort, and I needed the cleaning sooner than later. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told I would have to pay a fee of more than $100.00 which I was not prepared for. She was more than happy to reschedule my appointment, as opposed to taking accountability on her part for the error she made and- wanted to charge me another 100.00 to reschedule even though she was the one who cancelled and is rescheduling my appointment. I think it's unfair to charge a patient a rescheduling fee when the office is the one cancelling the appointment when I was there on time and ready to be seen. This same supervisor is pretty rude and lacks basic customer service skills. read more

Ok, so I'm not sure what happened to the professionalism at Eastern Dental, Burlington. Cleanings are often rescheduled due to no hygienist-she's seems to have lots of vacation time. When I first became a patient at this location in 2004, the staff were excellent!!! Since that time, staff know absolutely NOTHING!! There is no communication and the front desk staff speak to you as if their flaws are your fault. I am a loyalist. I usually stick with who I know...I don't know this office anymore. So much has changed. Are the staff high school graduates? I truly hope the Director of this location in Cinnaminson reads the reviews about his office. If you're shopping for a new dentist or orthodontist, stay away from Eastern Dental altogether and from this office specifically. I had been to a different Eastern Dental location in the past and came to this one knowing what to expect: quick, perfunctory cleanings with little or no personalized attention from the dentists. But, this was one of the only local places my insurance covered and I'm not prone to dental problems, so I figured why not. But the real problems started when I made the mistake of coming here for orthodontic care. What I didn't know in advance is that the orthodontist is only in the office twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays)--on a good week. I've had appointments rescheduled at the last minute three times, and because of this limited availability, that's meant postponing appointments by a minimum of one week and sometimes up to three weeks. For example: today is a Wednesday, and I need to reschedule next week's appointment. The entire Burlington ortho staff will be unexpectedly out tomorrow (one of the two days they're supposed to be there), and there is no centralized Eastern Dental scheduling system, so I will now wait until Tuesday (six days from now) just to call and reschedule an appointment. I hadn't been to an ortho in many years before this, but I can't imagine this is how they're supposed to function. Separately, the cost estimate given to me by the ortho billing department at the beginning of treatment overstated what my insurance would cover by close to $1000 dollars. I had the time to call the insurance company myself to fact check and fortunately I could afford the difference, but that isn't the case for everyone. One of the only positive things I can say is that the front staff and providers have always been courteous and responsive (on the days they are there), and the problems I've had with the practice are obviously not their fault. Seems to me like this chain can't be bothered to hire or retain enough practitioners to offer a basic standard of care or reliability. I'm months into treatment and stuck with this office now, but you should stay away. read more

The main dentist was great but when I had my cleaning another dentist came in. It was the most rushed cleaning I have ever experienced- they also spilled the mouthwash on me and barely let me spit the wash out. When the three minute cleaning was over I left the room and went to the front desk thinking I needed to check out. I called the office in two days in advance of when I was going to be there, trying to make an appointment for an emergency oral surgery because I was in a lot of pain. They told me that for an emergency appointment, just to call in the morning I wanted to be seen, and they would fit me in. So, the day approaches, I call, and explain the procedure I need done. The receptionist tells me this is fine, and gives me a time to come in and see the dentist. When I get there, I'm given x-rays, told that I need the procedure I already KNEW had to be done, and then informed that there's no oral surgeon at their office. A complete waste of time and money! When an office uses the word "emergency," it's implied that the work can be done on an urgent basis. Completely unprofessional staff and attitude; I could have saved a lot of time and money on useless x-rays if they had just told me from the get-go that an oral surgeon was not available. They told me I could go to another oral surgeon to get the procedure done that day, but then would not provide that surgeon with my x-rays and records for another three days... I don't ever plan on coming back to this establishment in a case of emergency. read more

This is the worst dentist I've ever been to, I went in for a cleaning. they took x rays wanted to rip out a root canal that had been just done by another dentist, they wanted to extract my wisdom teeth that don't bother me, and they told me I needed a tooth removed that was cracked in half that Audubon family dentistry just did a root canal on. When I'm told a tooth isn't saveable an then end up getting it saved by another dentist. It's pretty shady. I highly suggest you don't go here. read more

Wife had a 5:15 appointment, arrived at 5:00 now it's 6:05 still not seen for cleaning. No one at front desk could care less. Not the first time this has happened, I've gotten angry and told them to reschedule my appointment before after 40 minute wait beyond appointment time. Don't overbook or make promises you can't keep. I love these guys!!! I first went to Eastern Dental last December, I had a severely infected tooth that had chipped. They offered me the choice of coming in that same day or the following. Their staff is courteous and professional, you are informed of what your copay will be BEFORE any services are rendered letting you prepare financially for those root canals and deep cleanings which can be quite costly. The dentists are kind and explain every step of the process ensuring you're comfortable with what's going to happen.... and if that's not enough they are fully digitized!! That allows for convenient review of any X-rays or prior medical files that are pertinent. I'm one of those individuals who postpone going to a dentist until absolutely necessary but these guys have definitely made that process a lot less painful. I highly recommend them. read more

My strong advice is to find another dentist. I went their because the accepted my school district insurance. Big mistake. From hygienists to dentists to billing to waiting room, this is a place to avoid. It reminds me of what Eastern bloc dentists must have been like. You get passed from dentist to dentist. It's not real clean. The waiting room is loud and waiting time is long. They botched my root canal, and I can't have them fix it because, get this, they stopped accepting my insurance midway through my treatment, and then tried to bill me as an uninsured patient. Staff was friendly and making an appointment was easy. However, I will not be returning because it took over 2 hours for a routine cleaning. The hygienist was rough, hurt my gums a couple of times. She spent less time polishing my teeth than I spend brushing at home. They clearly don't value their patient's time. I was a patient of 2+ years and I finally have had enough! I originally signed up as a patient in their office because I lived nearby and my employer did not offer any dental coverage. Once I learned about the office having the ability to provide you with their insurance, I was sold. Well... you get what you pay for. For less than $200 a year, you can expect x-rays, two cleanings and 20 % off other services which is pretty decent. However do expect to wait at least an hour in their waiting room (even though you show up on time), schedule your own cleanings 3 months in advance with no reminder card and wait on hold for a minimum of 10 minutes when calling. Mind you I am a patient person, mindful of dates so none of the above bothered me very much. I am bothered that when I did take advantage of the 20% off other services, for four (4) impacted wisdom teeth extractions it cost around a grand (and yes this is with their insurance). Plus you do not have the option of being put under only nitrous oxide is offered. I was awake and in a lot of pain for my procedure. I had injections and nitrous but I still cried through the procedure. I could not only feel everything but I could also see the entire procedure through the surgeons plastic face shield. After the procedure was completed the shots finally worked so I was numb for hours later. I was only given pain killers for 4 days. My prescription ran out on a Sunday at noon so I called the 24 hr emergency hotline. After waiting 5 painful hours Dr. Kasahara finally returned my call and said he would call my prescription into the pharmacist. Well... he not only waited 10 minutes before the pharmacy closed but he also only ordered me Ibuprofen. Last time I checked that was over the counter- thanks for nothing Doc! Thankfully I have found a new Dentist that listens to my needs and treats me like a patient that is in pain, not a junkie looking for a fix read more

I'm not usually very demanding about services, but the experience of having dental surgery here upset me so badly I found another dentist. My initial visit was fine - the dentist was rushed and indifferent but not totally unpleasant, and the tech was actually very kind. The second visit, when I had the surgery, was awful. The dentist (not the same guy) was impatient and angry when I hesitated, then when the tooth was trickier than he'd expected, spent the entire operation alternating between angrily complaining about it and telling me it was my fault for not opening wide enough, etc. And he was serious, it wasn't a joke or a friendly thing. Being in this guy's dental chair was actually frightening . His tech was cold and unpleasant, and the receptionist was unhelpful, impatient and rude. The reception area was always packed with people, and between the large number of patients and the many dentists and techs and staff, the atmosphere was always chaotic. I was prescribed the wrong drug - a painkiller I'd told them I was unable to take. The practice plainly had a clientele of mostly low-income people, and it treated all patients like hell because they could. read more

When I arrived the dentist looked at my tooth, agreed with me and said I needed to schedule an appointment to have the filling done. WTH!!?? That's why I'm here you idiots!! I called to schedule a emergency appointment for my husband and was told by a pleasant speaking person that he could come in at 4:30. I told her that I would have to call her back to check with my husband to see if he could get there by that time. I call her back and informed her that "4:30 would be fine", when we got there at 4:05, when he was called to the counter to check in and the person behind the counter said to my husband "you're appointment isn't until 5", I go up to the counter and state to her "no when I called the person I spoke to said 4:30 and when I called back she said see you at 4:30" she says "well I have you on the schedule for 5 and this need to be completed" pointing to his forms then places another form "you have to sign this" when I started filling it out she says "he has to sign that" I said "I know". We sit down and its about 4:15 and as people come in I watch her take there papers and put them in a slot or at another person station to be called back. Then finally after holding his paperwork she takes his papers in the slot at 6:28, they come right out call him back. I waited until we we're checking out and asked what was her name pointing to where she was sitting and was told it was Jaenice. So I'm writing this review to state I believe Jaenice purposely and spitefully held his papers until 6:28 and if my husband wasn't in so much pain we would have walked out. read more

I have been having problems with this dental group for several years but today I made my final visit. I have had many many LATE appointments (1/2 to 1 1/2 hrs.), had their dental equipment break off in my mouth and then have the dentist unable to remove it for quite some time and then this happened again the next visit, I have had a dentist so poor I question his certification and walked out on him- complained to the supervisor, and then he was again assigned to me just before Christmas. I AGAIN went to the supervisor and was reassured that he, the supervisor, would finish up my dental work. Today, I went back to the dentist expecting the supervisor to be my dentist and AGAIN was given a new dentist! I walked out of the dentist and 6 hours later still have not received a phone call. I am left with a partial plate that does not fit properly, and my insurance has paid for the entire amount. read more

I've been going them since i was 12 i am 27 now and the last 7 years with them has been horrible. I was suppose to get a root removed in my gums and waiting forever. I get called to the back and the doctor numbed me and then i waited so long i fell asleep and the numbness wore off and had to be numbed all over again. Then recently i had a dental emergency and was told to follow up after my antibiotics. I got a call to schedule and arrive to my appointment and can't be seen because i have a balance. Mind you i asked while scheduling if my account was okay and she said "yup your all good". The girl at the front desk asked me if i has anything to put down and i explained that i did not due to me not working during Covid. This was my first time at Eastern Dental and I must say, I had one of the greatest experiences EVER. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Staci was able to fit me in for an emergency visit and I was in the back within minutes of arriving. The Dentist Dr. Hoffmaster (I believe) was fantastic. My daughter had 1 root worked on for a root canal on Wednesday, November 25 as an emergency appointment. I was told to bring her back on Saturday the 28th as, another emergency to complete. I informed them on Wednesday that she has to return to college on Monday. We'll bottom line, she was not seen on Saturday due to only one doctor performing procedures. Next appointment February 13th!! I had been thinking about leaving them for a long time....now I'm definitely dropping them! They are the worse! Prior to that, had a horrible toothache and they told me maybe you'll need a root canal but we'll see later if the toothache gets worse. Well, it did! Of corse they couldn't accommadate!
