I had an appointment today at the Eastern Radiologists Breast Imaging Center and I was greeted at the front desk by Teresa. She was very polite, patient, courteous and consistently helpful. I have come for treatment here numerous times and she is always pleasant. Then for my x-ray, Madison was very patient and put me at ease. This review shows up as my residence in Florida Where I live part of the year but I live mostly in Eastern NC. I have been coming here for my mammogram for 20 plus yrs. And have always thought the service and expertise were outstanding until my recent mammogram last week. The women doing the mammogram were all new. And very inexperienced. it was a nightmare getting it done. It had to be repeated and my breast felt like they had been in a torture chamber. I was scared. It was so painful at one point I gasped. My technician even told me she was new to this and had to have her worked rechecked. It took well over an hour. The front desk people were new also. What gives? I don't understand how things have changed since i was there last year. It seemed totally different. And not friendly. read more

Had an appointment with my twins daughters. All paperwork was done right. However when my 1 daughter got to the back the cray technician DID NOT verify patients name. She did ask date of birth. Again they are twins. She did the x-rays for both patients on the 1st daughter. I waited and waited for her to call the 2nd child's name. Nope. 30 minutes later I spoke to the receptionist about why wasn't my 2nd daughter called and the technician THOUGHT both papers were for the same daughter. These girls have entirely different names. Did you verify? I had to sign a paper giving consent. I checked the names on the papers for each child. Why am I writing because had this been a dialysis place or another medical service more critical this could potentially be a life threatening situation. I am highly upset with EASTERN RADIOLOGY IN WASHINGTON, NC. This particular technician needs to resign from the medical field. I formerly spoke highly of them but not after today. My visit was friendly and inviting from the time I walked in the door for my CT. The front staff was great, the tech who did my CT talked to me about the whole procedure. I was a little nervous because I had a reaction to the contrast about 10 years ago. Everyone involved with the procedure made me feel more comfortable. read more

Much of the "Medical District" of Greenville, NC is a sprawling suburb of various medical facilities and providers, many of which are independent practices. They enjoy hospital privileges with Vidant Medical Center, which is merging with East Carolina University Health, a component of the university's medical school. In our uniquely dystopian health care system there could not be a more clear definition of the immoral and byzantine system of medical services and billing than what is epitomized with Eastern Radiology. I had x-rays ordered by my physicians, each of whom are in the Vidant network, on two separate occasions. One was in a Vidant facility in Wilson, NC and the other I elected to have done at the medical center following a terse exchange with the people at the front desk of Eastern Radiology who reminded me that although they did not accept my insurance [as did Vidant] that I would be billed out-of-network anyway. I was told that the radiologists read all of the x-rays in Greenville, including Vidant. They were correct as they enjoy a monopoly for such services in the region, yet they insist on not joining the Vidant network. Various billings resulted, not unique in our system with health insurance cartels and such providers engaged in obfuscation to maximize their profits; their primary concern. Eventually they accepted my insurance far into the year but I still had out-of-pocket expenses not clearly stated in the insurance company's guidelines. We as a nation deserve better than this corporate greed which envelopes our national healthcare system. A universal/single payer healthcare system would reimburse the physicians quite well and appropriately as every other developed nation, while creating affordable and accessible services for everyone in need. It is unconscionable that any such medical provider, especially enjoying a virtual monopoly, should be allowed to continue in this manner. Especially in its contract with Vidant Medical Center. read more

This office was not very nice when I called requiring about my bill. When you have a disease like Crohn's, you trust people to do what's best for you. This is not what happens many times. I'd say go to a larger city for your doctors and your services. Definitely avoid this office and Gastroenterology East read more

Although the front desk staff were all very pleasant, the technologist who actually did the mammogram was not. I walk with a walker & I'm in my late 60's. I have 4 rods, 7 hooks and several screws in my spine, from T11 down (the bottom 2 rods are screwed into the pelvis itself) so my ability to twist is very limited and painful for me. I've had a mammogram every year since I was 35 as my mom had breast cancer twice, 25 years apart-so I'm considered high risk. The last 5 mammograms I've had were done at this location, but I've never had this woman as the tech. I told my husband last year that the machine seemed to be a new design, a 3D one, I believe- and that I had not been squeezed as tightly as in the past and the positions I was asked to try to assume were not nearly as uncomfortable as some had been in the past. Therefore I was not dreading this one nearly as much as I had before. Well, this technician was so uncaring and unpleasant that I will never have another mammogram- and did not complete the last image of the four usually taken. The design of the machine had much to do with the discomfort, but the tech, a Ms. S.G., made it unbearable. She roughly pulled my breast from the machine to which my skin was literally stuck after the first image. No apology, nothing. The right front corner of the "tray" was pushed into my armpit, the bottom edge of which was wedged into my ribcage. She smooshed the face guard up against my cheek & nose- & then I was told-not asked- to move my left foot closer towards the machine. Because of the surgical intervention to my body, I was unable to attain the position the tech requested and almost fell over. After similar uncomfortable (to say the least) positions that were demanded of me, I requested to stop and not complete the last image. I told S.G. she was the worst tech I had had in 33 years and that because of her attitude and treatment of me, I would never have another mammogram. She told me she did not have a bad attitude, and that she was "just trying to make me comfortable". If that's the way she tried to make me comfortable, I can't imagine what it would have been like had she tried to make me uncomfortable. In past experiences, when someone sees that I walk with a walker, & I am very obviously bent over to the left, they are gentle and patient with me and try to assist me in any way that they can. In my opinion, Ms. S.G. has no business having a job that requires interaction with the public, and especially not one that requires a sensitivity to and patience with the customer-not someone who just wants to get the job done, as quickly as possible, with no consideration for someone with disabilities! read more

Their pain management center is a poorly run, uncaring, horror show. I left during my appointment prior to the injection because I did not feel safe based upon the incompetence of the first 20 minutes in office/the nurse. read more

I recently had an MRI completed with Eastern Radiology, which was an elective procedure, and was left with an almost $1500 bill. This was NOT discussed with me prior, as I would have NEVER had this procedure completed had I known. I called several other Radiology businesses, gave them my insurance information, and they told me that my bill should have been just over $900. I spoke to my primary care physician, as well as my insurance company, and both pointed their fingers at Eastern Radiology as the ones who SHOULD have discussed this issue with me prior to having the procedure done. I spoke to the COO of the company Walter Lindstran about this, and why other medical facilities do inform their patients of what their potential bills will be and his response was, "We've never done it that way,". He repeated this response to five of my questions. I never received a single apology, a "we will do better next time", or anything that I could consider helpful. read more

I come from Charlotte yearly because they are caring, through and best of all I get a preliminary reading with the radiologist so not only do I not need to worry about a call back but I have peace of mind and don't have to be a wreck waiting for results! read more

I will never use these idiots for services again even if that means going to another city. They did not bill my insurance properly. My account got sent to a collection agency. They had no record of me calling their office. Worst medical business office I've ever dealt with in my entire life. read more

This company has the worst billing department I have ever had to deal with. I was seen at the Washington, NC emergency room in November 2014. I gave my insurance info to the hospital and they billed without issue. I never received a bill from Eastern radiologists or a statement showing insurance did not pay. In June It they hired a collection agency to come after me and added collection record to my credit report. My insurance company told me they had never been billed by them for any services. I called to see what was going on and why the insurance was not billed. I was told it was not too late to bill insurance and they demanded I pay the full amount with no discounts I get through my insurance. They told me they did not have my address but it was given at the time of the visit, they even got a copy of my drivers license that had my current address on it. The woman had a bad attitude on the phone and told me I should take it up with my insurance that they had not even billed. I think they are running some kind of scam and need to be investigated. read more
