The service is always friendly, and the value for money of the rolls is around the mark. I've eaten the raw fish rolls a few times, and no illnesses to date! The platters they do are also pretty good. Nothing super fancy, although they are usually in a container tied with a ribbon, which is nice. Another personal bonus for me is that they are open at 9.30 on Sunday mornings. Apparently not everyone craves sushi after a big night, but I do. And having sushi made fresh for you while you wait is special. It's exactly the kind of special I like to feel on a Sunday morning. I'll keep coming back. Until they close. Or until a decent, convenient sushi provider opens even closer to where I live.

The thing I love most about this place is the range of different flavours, which is surprising for a small store. Along with some of the mixed packs, I also enjoy the sweet and sour pork, sweet corn, chicken avacado, and california sushi rolls. Oh and the cold rolls are friggin awesome as well. AND THE SPRING ROLLS. Everything, I'll have one of everything. I'm a regular here, usually grabbing an assortment of goodies and sitting outside in the sun enjoying as much as I can fit. The staff are standard, don't expect much conversation, but it's quick which is the main thing. So what you might find in one store, you might not find in another. As for this Sushi Train, well I am happy I live close to it. This is probably the freshest sushi I have had through the franchise. The sashimi fish is a great colour, texture and smell. The sushi variety is great. They get really busy in the afternoons, so that means that they turn over their stock quickly. Salmon Amburi was great and so was the miso. The service here is very friendly and fast. So, if you want to order something from the menu be sure to ask! You will not need to wait long. Be sure to remember that Sushi Train is not complicated high quality sushi. More like simple, quick and easy! But always tasty!

But despite being in a saturated marketplace in terms of sushi, Kintaro offer one thing that the others don't. Here's a hint: starts with "t" end with "rain". Yes, a much-loved SUSHI TRAIN! Something about these little conveyer belts of goodness and cheer just make me happy. I visited Kintaro for the first time yesterday and was even happier. From the exaggerated "moshi moshi" that greets you from about 15 staff members when you walk in, to the delicious parcels of deliciousness that whizz by you when you sit down, to the OTT J-Pop that assaults your ears as you eat: it's all cute and happy-making. Exactly what a sushi train experience should be. The space has been renovated and redecorated: now it's sleek and modern and minimal, with cute cherry blossom designs on the walls. It feels light and spacious and welcoming. As the chefs whip up sushi in the middle of the space, you take your pick from the colour coded plates that pass by on the train - prices ranging from $3 - $8 per plate depending on colour. There's lots to chose from: we opted for raw salmon nigiri, chicken avocado rolls, vegetable tempura, okonomiyaki and ebi fry: all were delicious. They use fresh tasty ingredients, and are quite heavy on the use of Japanese mayo and BBQ sauce. We paid around $12 each for lunch and drinks, which isn't as cheap as a sushi roll but way more fun! Will definitely be back to try more.

To put it bluntly I am one incredibly slack cat! Luckily for me, Sakura at Marden is really close to my folks place and I drive past there almost every day! I realise that Sakura is part of a chain of Sushi/Japanese restaurants that have sprung up around the place, but the quality really goes up and down depending on which one you go to. Marden is always on the money, and the Seafood Laksa scares me....It is just that good! Plus, it is really cheap. For under $15 you can have a good solid feed and leave feeling like one more bite would send you into a scene from 'The Meaning of Life'! If you get there towards closing time you can also get half price Sushi Rolls, but be mindful, sometimes the rice is a bit crunchy by then!

Staff are friendly, happy to help or to wait while you dither hopelessly over the multitude of choices (this is my usual gambit at sushi bars - consider every possible combination of rolls then finally pick a couple at random 'cos I just can't decide) - and will gladly slice a full roll into four or five perfect little bite size pieces (never underestimate this - it can make it SO much easier if you need to eat on the run between meeting clients, etc) Sushi rolls are pretty much constantly hand made on the premises to keep the display stocked and ready for sale, without allowing any time to get stale or wasted - they're very dedicated to keeping just enough stock ready on hand, so sometimes you can need to wait a minute or two for fresh rolls to come out. Great sushi, cheap, quick and easy to pick up - really, isn't that exactly what a sushi bar should offer??
