Day 1. I get to the yard, introduce myself, Arthur tosses me the keys and tells me to fire up the truck and pull it out. Mind you, I've never driven anything as big as his rig and it was pretty intimidating, but I did it and the intimidation factor dropped quickly which allowed me to relax and really take in everything he was teaching me. Having him in the passenger seat cracking bad jokes actually helped me relax a little too. A few months later, I passed my test, but that's not even the best part. After driving so many hours in his rig, really getting comfortable with the 10 speed split shift, navigating rush hour traffic on the streets and freeways, driving down small roads, up and down hills, parallel parking, offset parking, alley docking that I now have the confidence to know that I can drive anything for anyone without feeling like an amateur. Arthur is The Man and Easy CDL is the place you need to go if you want to learn how to drive a big rig, pass the test and become a safe, competent driver. Arthur, Elder, & Anthony are great at what they do; outstanding in teaching, being patient, friendly and they really want to see you pass. It's like when you pass, they pass. They WILL go above and beyond for you, but do realize that you also NEED to do YOUR PART; listen and be ready to learn, pay attention, put in the TIME and EFFORT, just like they do to teach you. I cannot stress enough how great these guys are. Even with the delay in my classes due to personal matters they looked out for me and made sure I stayed on track. When I was finally able to get back to my classes we knocked them out and I Aced my test my first attempt. Arthur, Gary, and Junior are great instructors. Tips to make sure you pass: STUDY PRE TRIP, go to the open class Saturday morning as much as possible. Also If you take class in the Sylmar location I recommend getting a few classes in the Ventura location since you will be taking your test out there. From what I've seen on YouTube and actually driving too( they were closed) this business could be the premiere school to go to. I've been a CDL driver for 10+ years.. I down graded during Covid ( Hint!! Once you get your CDL- NEVER SURRENDER OR DOWNGRADE) upon talking to an instructor- he wants to protect their investments which is the clutch & transmission because using it for practice has wear & tear, so he will require you to drive with him so they are confident your not gunna destroy the C&T... but getting past the initial step, for the price of the school and location where they skills/road test, is probably your best opportunity. Because if you test in LA or Riverside.. there's a lot more hazards and chances to get points deducted.. because of very busy interactions, lots of signs they will ask you about and might be intimidating for new drivers. Keep in mind that schools like CR England are free but you have to sign a 2 year contract and if you don't complete, you have to pay for the schooling with interest (appx $7000).. So the upfront cost might throw you off but after this school and you get your CDL and they line you up with an employer (if you need help finding a job), you will start making good $$ to enjoy life vs paying back money from a school. So ask about financial assistance, open a new Credit Card, or get a loan, if you don't have the total balance. But this school will be booked as the instructors work with you, teach you and help you. I went with a cheap CDL school in Nor.Cal, it was 50% less $$$ but I had to do everything by myself., no class, no instructor, no seat time.. pretty much study and test... and while that school made bank, the passing percentage/ratio was 1/20 or 5% passed... 95% failed. So take that into consideration. I would say 5 stars, but I didn't go through this program, but I wish I did... because it would have built my confidence and made the transition a lot EZ'r.. So one last note... Watch YouTube videos when it comes to learning your backing skills, like watch 100's of them to understand what to look for, don't just think you're gunna pass. Practice what you learned watching the videos and visualize the "invisible lines" when making your turns... and use the cones as a reference don't aim for them, because with some DMV testers is an automatic fail if you rich a cone- it happens to me, even when up to that point I had zero points taken away, I was stopped by the tester!! Sacramento Office, so learn how to use them as a reference. I wanted my to get my truckers license but I did not like dealing with other schools, it seemed like they just wanted to take your money and give you as little education as needed to just get your license and leave. I believe I would've had a great experience, regardless, because it turned out to be a great school with great instructors. However, because I had enrolled in another school that I attended briefly and had a horrible experience at my time was even better at Easy CDL truck driving school. Based on the schedule I provided them of my availability they worked with me. There was no grouping, which means I got the one on one experience I needed; not just to pass a test but to have the safety skills necessary for a career. Each one of the staff were friendly, patientu understanding, compassionate, flexible, knowledgeable, and motivating. When I started there on August 23, 2022, I was stressed with a deadline that was next to impossible to obtain a license by, especially considering the only thing I could identify under a hood at that point was a dipstick. I passed my DMV test successfully on September 20, 2022 thanks to the efforts from all of the easy CDL truck driving school staff. Everyone there help to make my experience positive and worthwhile.
