They are so thin, in fact, that when I'm getting ready in the mornings I can hear the people who live above us use and flush the toilet. Management has changed hands many times. It's very hard to get ahold of anyone for maintenance issues. There seems to be some pretty heavy drug traffic (and without a doubt drug usage) in the complex. It appears most of the units share ventilation systems as we get smoke and dust from our upstairs neighbors regularly. We recently moved out and left the apartment in better shape than we got it, even paying a professional to clean our carpets. The onsite manager is refusing to refund any of our deposit and also refuses to give us the name of the owner or her boss so we can discuss the matter. We just filed a small claims lawsuit against the complex and we're hopeful that will be our last interaction with them. Ever.

I plan to stay for a couple more years until I graduate and here's why: The condo units are very nice with several upgrades such as modern light fixtures, nice carpet, new appliances, nice cabinets, in unit washer/dryer, etc. Also, this complex offers two bedroom units at a one bedroom unit price. The bedrooms are a little smaller than one might hope for but they are able to fit a queen bed and a large dresser comfortably. My apartment is a nice size for me and my 53 lbs Labrador, (that's right this place allows large pets which is very, very rare in Lawrence) each condo is approximately 800ft2. The floor plan is open which I really like. Unlike my last apartment I cannot hear my neighbors through the walls which is a HUGE plus. The walls must be thicker here than most other apartments because I never hear anything coming from the apartments next to me. Also, the complex is small so it has a nice community feel to it. There is more grassy areas for pets than most complexes offer which is great for my dog. I'd say the best thing about NPA's is its location. The location is what sold me on this apartment. It has a walking trail right next to it that I use to walk my dog daily. It is perfectly located between all Lawrence hot spots i.e. Mass St., 23rd St., Iowa St.,. It is literally the best location in town because your close to everything. One negative about the complex is that the patios are small compared to other places that I viewed. NPA's has recently gotten a new on site manager who has made it her mission to make the complex an awesome place to live. Every time I have spoken with her she has been very polite and helpful. She has helped start a community garden, and NPA's newsletter which has greatly improved the feel of the place. Overall, I am very happy with NPA's. It is a great, safe, and quiet place to live. I will be recommending NPA's to everyone I know.

Janis has been wonderful to work with, and I appreciate the time she spent even during days she would normally have a weekend, to ensure that my Dad and I got all of the items we needed to get him settled there. The apartment was freshly painted, with newer working appliances, and was very clean. The residents we've met there so far were friendly, and I was impressed with how active they were. I'm also excited that there are so many things within walking distance of the apartment complex. Although we haven't been there long, the beginning of this new chapter for my Dad has been smooth so far, and quite an improvement from his previous living situation. He is really happy, and that is what is most important to me.

The surrounding art work adds to the beauty of this venue near one of the most popular streets in Lawrence, Mass St. Despite some post wedding drama, the manger was quick to act and competent in working to make the reception as memorable as possible. I would highly recommend this venue for business meetings, receptions, or just a casual day viewing some impressive art.

For an art reception, I think the volume should be low enough to actually enjoy the experience--not overpower it. The other problem was the purchasing experience. When I wanted to buy a piece (which was priced at the kind of level where you're spending thousands), the process was oddly inconvenient. I had to stand in line at the bar, and while the staff was multitasking making me feel rushed and an inconvenience. It felt like hospitality and customer care took a back seat to everything else. I'd love to come back because the gallery itself is fantastic--but I hope they reconsider the noise level and make the buying process more focused and respectful for serious collectors.

Instead of giving us a proper tour, she simply handed us the keys and told us to go view the unit ourselves, which felt unprofessional and unwelcoming. When we got to the model townhome, the condition was surprisingly poor. The carpet had visible stains, the furniture was chipped, and the staging looked unfinished--there were pillowcases on the bed but no actual pillows for instance. For a place meant to represent the property, it looked neglected and poorly maintained. What made the experience even more frustrating is that we were on the waiting list since last year, and they still couldn't offer us one of the most common townhome types. We were told that transfers take priority, which felt questionable and like an excuse rather than a real effort to accommodate prospective tenants. Overall, the lack of professionalism, poor condition of the model, and the long wait with no real progress made this a very disappointing experience.

For the average-to-athletic person, you'll find all you need; and the building itself has high ceilings; so it never gets swampy in there.

We walked in and we were greeted perfectly by TieRre who was incredibly sweet and ran us through everything we needed to know about the apartment we saw online!! It wasn't quite done with its renovations but we were able to get a good look at the apartment, which is absolutely beautiful! We went home and immediately knew this was the place we wanted to live. The process of applying online can be a little difficult for someone who hasn't done it before but TieRie was always emailing us back with any questions we had, and helped us through the whole process! If he missed a phone call from us, he was super quick to get back to us with an email to let us know about anything we asked!! Not only did they refuse to pay my medical bills but they charged my cousin $200 for the mirror that was stated to be only $60 in the lease contract to replace. When asked why there was such a discrepancy, their staff responded with the fact that they could. Seriously? Stay far away from these unprofessional staff and the apartments they manage.
