Part of me was disappointed at the size. When you hear about food festivals envision huge events where you can get lost for hours. Given that London has food truck assembled in places where you can spend an hour looking around & many belt notch busting samples.
Here it was all about the money, or lack thereof as you were forced to put money on cards. So if you put €30 on your card only to find one dish that ticked your fancy, you're left with a €21 memento.
Thankfully the food was varied, and tasty. I could have eaten here all night. Every dish cost €9. Whether you wanted a 12 inch tentacle of Spongebob's buddy Squidwad. (My wife didn't) or the sublime Strawberry Creation that I've forgotten the name of. It's all €9! Some are bargains, some are just enough food to fill a gnat.
You take your chances.
Everything is in tents, so yeah it's an eventful festival:) Given the frequent rain it's a good idea. Though it can feel slightly claustrophobic, such is the mass of people who are attracted here.
So yeah check it out. It's worth a look. It's free to enter so you can nosy before you buy. read more
