We were driving home from a rainy day with our side by side. An oncoming truck crowded the road a bit so I swung to my right. The shoulder gave way and my truck's right axel hit the road but my trailer and side by side went into Fall Creek. We got the truck back onto stable ground but the side by side was a different matter. We called Eaton Towing and the said it woul be about 90 minutes before they could get there. 90 minutes later Chad showed up and about an hour later we were on our way home. My husband was involved in a car accident this past weekend and Eaton Towing showed up to assist in the tow. The driver was cordial, professional, and very helpful. I wish I could say the same for the rest of our experience. We needed to retrieve personal property from our truck and tried to arrange a time to get into it. Both our tow driver and insurance company suggested we also take our after market tires off because it's highly likely our truck will be deemed as totaled and we would not get the appropriate value for them. We just needed to put some sort of tire back on. We wholeheartedly appreciated that information. But this is also where things became slightly complicated when they wanted documentation from our insurance company. Which I can understand from their standpoint, but it's also not legally necessary. No big deal at the time, we'll respect your personal policies. It was frustrating going back and forth several times between them and our insurance companies to get it squared away. Circumstances just became annoying with all the other issues we were dealing with from the result of this accident. We finally get a time scheduled to go to the wrecking yard to retrieve our items. At that time they let us know that we would now have to go to their location further south in Shelley instead of Idaho Falls where it was initially towed to. Sure, no big deal. Shelley isn't that far away from IF. We show up at our time and no one is in the office. A quick look around the lot also showed that our truck wasn't even there as we were told. We make a phone call to see what we should do, and they mention the front desk lady should be back in 20 minutes. So after we wait almost an hour for someone to show up she finally pulls in. We are pretty patient people and understand things happen, so once again we just brush it off as circumstantial. She seemed overwhelmed with everything on her plate and we didn't want to add to her stress. She makes a couple phone calls and finds out that they were "going to be moving it to Shelley" and not that it was already moved to Shelley. At that point we could wait for the tow driver to make a run to another accident and then he could grab our truck after that, or we could follow him back to the IF location and he could let us in on the way to his next call. We decided to just follow him so we could get started and also help ease the workload they had going with tows that day. The driver ended up being the same man that helped my husband on the day of the accident. He was once again super helpful and kind. We were able to get our remaining personal items and swap our tires. Though incredibly inconvenient, none of this was truly problematic until the phone call today. We realized we left our garage door opener in there. We live out of state, but my brother works in Firth so we thought maybe he could grab it on his way home. So my husband calls over to Eaton Towing to see if they could snag that out so he could pick it up today. Rich answers the phone and is willing to be helpful about the situation.... until he identifies which truck is ours. Then he proceeds to tell my husband what he did was "disgusting" and that people like him are essentially pathetic in reference to swapping the tires out "That was the most disgusting thing you could do". Wow... so much for having some tact and having good customer service. We were just taking the advice of both your driver and our insurance company. I guess the frustrating thing for him was that the tires were for older Dodges so they prevented the tires from just easily rolling the vehicle on the tow bed. So what do you do when an accident rips a whole axle off the frame and you have no tires? You still can tow it. This is your job. I fully understand it's a little harder of a situation, but you don't belittle the people that were in the accident because of it. And maybe if the truck would have already been to the other wrecking yard like you said it was, you wouldn't have had to tow it again in that "disgusting" condition in the first place. We had been dealing with so many other things associated with this accident, yet we never let those frustrations pass over to the frustrations of this situation. We did our best to remain patient with all the little problems and were trying to be understanding people and keep a smile on our faces. We would have appreciated a little of that in return. Rich, I would urge you in the future to have a little more compassion for people in our situation. Tensions and stress are heightened for your customers in these situations as it is. It's okay to let someone know what they made your job more difficult, but please educate them with dignity instead of flat out insults. You are in the business of serving people. read more

Okay, when does not expect the queen's English when calling a tow company, but sheesh, these people are gruff. The man who I talked to let his impatience bleed through the phone line. And worse, he consistently tried to get me to leave even when I still had several unanswered questions. I'm sorry, but when you have my car, I'm going to ask questions and you will damn well answer them. If you can't handle talking to the general public then I suggest you have someone answer your phone who isn't so burned-out. Other cardinal sins were saying I couldn't grab my car that day because they were leaving early. ??? What professional organization says such a thing? You were holding other people's property. Worst you charge by the day even when you're leaving early, so it's a scam. Their price for storage and a single tow was also outrageous, more than I paid for entire repairs in the past. All that might have been forgivable except for the gruff old man on the other end of the phone who told me I was asking too many questions. Again I'll ask as many as I damn well want. Not that I'll ever work with these guys again. read more

I want to start off by saying that I do appreciate what they have been doing to help us out with my moms car. She was in an accident a while back and had quite a bit of stuff in her car. She is a little bit of a hoarder. We have been trying to get down to get it all cleaned out while they held it in their yard. I would also like to apologize for whatever misunderstandings we seem to keep having. However, if I could give them negative stars I would. For starters their hours should really read, we have someone here when we feel like it. I've gone down multiple times to try and clean it out, during ther 9-5 hours of opperation, only to have no one be there. I was finally able to get it done, but the day I went no one was there once again when I showed up. Someone came as I was going to leave, but she was so rude, I honestly couldnt believe how I was treated. Now let me say too, my sister had, had an unfortunate incounter with somone there when she told her she thought it was unprofessional to not be there during your posted hours of opleration. Apparently they dont like being told they should be in the office when their own hours say they're going to be. Anyhow, I assume the gal thought I was my sister, because she starts off by saying oh good, I'm tired of having that shit in my yard. I was a little taken back, so I was trying to apologize and tell them that I had in fact come down many times trying to get it cleaned, but no one had been there. She goes on to say she's tired of me and to just get it cleaned up and she opened the gate for me. I again tried to apologize and talk to her about it and she climbs in her truck, yells I can't hear you, slams the door, and blazes out of the parking lot. Ok, well that was rude. So I called up Rich, and he pretty much just says, what do you want from me? No apology for the employees rude behavior. Ok, so I get to cleaning out the car. Then the owners wife shows up and asks if Id been helped. I mentioned about the gal who was rude to me, and how Id been trying to get down there multiple times only for them to be closed. Then she starts laying into me about how I dont know what they're all going through, and pretty much once again being rude. I tried to tell her once again that I appreciate that they're been belping me with my moms car, but thats its frustrating for me to come down and have no one there. So shes continuing to yell about how I dont know how she feels because her father is dying and she lost a son a few years ago. So Im just saying wow, cause now I've had two of them yell at me in under an hour. She comes back and is like Wow, you dont say Wow to me, and starts saying how I dont understand. So Im a little frustrated and said well yes, I do understand, my mother has dementia, and Ive just had to put her in an assisted living because she has a hard time remembering things. Also, I didnt tell her this, but my father died of cancer over 8 years ago, so yes, I understand. Eventually we all lose the people we love in life. Its part of life, but it shouldn't give you cause treat people like dirt. So she leaves, and I get back to cleaning out the car. Then Rich shows up. Im thinking oh goodness please dont let him come yell at me too. So he comes over and I probably shouldnt have, but I started off with if you are coming over to yell at me, please don't. Ive already had as much as I can take today. So he says my goodness woman, you are such a dama queen. Im flabbergasted. I told him how his first gal had yelled at me, his wife had yelled at me, and I didnt want to be yelled at again for the 3rd time in under 2 hours by them. He goes on about how Im a drama queen and everyone who's delt with me there has said I was a nothing but drama. Now, I have only been there in the office to deal with anyone once before. All the other times no one was there. The one time I was there my siblings were with me and everything went fine. So Im going to assume he's again talking about the incident with my sister. Maybe he should have checked his facts first. Anyhow so since he is still being rude, I let my temper get the better of me and told him I hoped he enjoyed bad reviews because I was definitely going to give him one. Yes, I shouldn't have but I had just had 3 horrible incounters with them that day. Well his response was, everyone already knows who you are. What is that supposed to mean?? He doesn't even know me, but it sounds like he's saying I'm a piece of crap, and he's better then me. Which is laughable because of how I have just been treated. I cant remember a time when I have been treated with such a lack of respect as a human being. I did speak with CJ once after another misunderstanding about my sister when we had accidentally come down during their lunch break. He did end up apologizing, which I appreciated.
