I've come here multiple times due to it being an all around above average brunch stop. The best parts? The skylight in the nice room for 6 seater tables and that this is still the place with the best espresso martini in Austin. I'm hoping I didn't just get lucky with my drinks, but I always enjoy the cocktails. The food is actually all pretty good. I have yet to order anything that I've dislike (although I don't come here super often, having many people and eating family style allowed me to taste most of at least the brunch menu). The only downside is that the size of the food for most of my party doesn't fill them up enough most of the time. I would find myself prioritizing coming for dinner after the mid day break due to the larger menu as well. read more

We came here for a late valentine's day dinner and the vibes were immaculate especially in their atrium portion of the restaurant! However, they're very busy and service is generally very slow. We got there right at the time of our reservation and had to wait 10minutes to be seated, once seated we waited around 15minutes for our server to show up with water and ask for our order. Understandably a busy saturday night, but I feel like water is a given and should be ASAP. Crudo (4/5): This dish was delicious! However, seemed very out of place with the rest of their menu. It seems to be more of a Uchi style dish that they borrowed over. Mussels (5/5): The curry sauce that is served with the mussels is amazing and the bread that they give you to scoop up the sauce is so good. Rigatoni (3/5): This was just okay I'm not sure why I got this one. Halibut (4/5): The fish was crispy on the outside and flakey on the inside and very good. DO NOT plan a large birthday dinner here. I reserved a table for 12 to celebrate my birthday and the staff made me feel less than welcome...probably the worst place I could've chosen to spend a birthday. The service was pretty much nonexistent, we placed our orders and didn't see our waiter for about two hours until we received our food. They didn't think to check in during that time, nor the rest of the meal. For birthdays, the staff sign a card and throw it on the table in front of you without saying a word, I think my head was turned and looking back, found the card with their signatures. In addition, they charge $4 per person, if we want to cut our own cake in their restaurant. For a party of 12, wasn't worth spending almost $50 just to have our cake there. Next time, I'd rather spend my birthday elsewhere to actually have a special time. The food quality was just okay, until we got to the main entrees. I ordered the short rib and this was so incredibly over-salted, it was basically inedible. Other people in my party said the same thing. I ended up saving it, so I could make rice later to drown out the saltiness. Overall, the dining experience from food quality to service was extremely disappointing, especially for a restaurant so highly regarded. Based on my experience. the only thing Eberly has going for them is their ambience, they have a cool looking garden room that we were not able to reserve. This was my second visit to Eberly. The first experience was really good but unfortunately this time was disappointing, mainly due to poor service. I was especially disappointed because I we were celebrating my dad's birthday and wanted it I be a memorable evening. Unfortunately it was memorable for the wrong reasons. It started off well. The tempura mushrooms and Japanese milk rolls were delicious. Our entrees came shortly after and were good but not great. They were a bit salty and not very hot. We assumed our server would check back in after the food was delivered so we could ask about the status of the shareable items we'd ordered that weren't delivered. This is where things began to go south. Our server walked back and forth by our table without making eye contact at least 5 or more times (over the course of 20 minutes) without checking on us. In fact we were nearly finished with our mains when we were finally able to flag him down ( I literally had to call out his name). Not sure if the server had something else on his mind but we felt completely forgotten. Eberly has such a cute vibe but now I have this disappointing memory associated with it so I'll likely choose another restaurant for future celebrations. read more

I wish their brunch menu was more extensive because nothing really seemed to stand out. I barely touched my food because of how underwhelming it was, and my friend who ordered a salad was also playing with her food the entire time. We had an amazing evening, the entire kitchen signed our menu and really made our special night extra special. The Japanese Milk Rolls were probably the best dinner rolls I've ever had. The short rib was complex and tasty. The Rigatoni pomodoro had a brilliant and bright sauce that was absolutely to die for. Stopped by for some bites and drinks on Friday night and I love the ambiance of the restaurant. We ended up sitting at the bar area and ordering a few appetizers. We got the octopus, steak tartare, crab hush puppies, and a side of broccolini. All in all, I thought the food was just okay. Some of the flavors didn't mesh quite well and felt a bit too sweet for my tastes. The drinks on the other hand were great. We got an espresso martini and Paris review and both were really good. Our host was okay, dint even bother to check even once if everything was okay. Food is okay nothing special, we ordered milk rolls, hot chicken sandwich, French toast, El Paso( cocktail ) Milk rolls: it looked glossy, but it's just like Hawaiian rolls, warm on top and cold at the bottom, they haven't even warmed up thoroughly. Cocktail was just okay French toast: this was good, but single slice French toast For$$$ Hot chicken sandwich: there was nothing hot in it, it's just dry hard chicken breast in between the bun, we dint taste any white cheddar or burnt onion aioli as they have described it. They had me at free valet! Which was incredibly needed on a Friday during dinner. We made a reservation for the bar top about 2 weeks out for 2 people. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has awesome gender neutral restrooms. Gotta love when you can see if everyone is washing their hands. Overall the volume of this place is LOUD. I wouldn't come with a large group. We started with cocktails. My Manhattan was really boozy, love. The nick the singer was pretty sweet. Espresso martini was just like any other. The $45 Manhattan was good, but I wouldn't order it again. Glad we made it the dessert. Pork cheek ragu was a good size and flavors. I wish it came with my veggies. I'm not a big pasta person so overall it was just good. Short ribs were average. The turnips on it were really good though. Service was slow to start but got better. Shout out to the complimentary valet parking. The restaurant blocks the parking belonging to the building for their valet. Directly adjacent is Pavement, a vintage store, and all their parking has strict signage that parking is just for them. Next to that is a plaza with an urgent care facility, and it had tons of open parking, but the way Austin's towing community operates, I was not willing to try it. In other words, there isn't any parking and you might as well valet. I didn't have any cash, and I tipped him via Venmo and appreciated the digital option. I went during brunch, and we made a reservation on Resy, which I highly recommend because we had to wait a few minutes after our time. After all, it was busy. Once we sat down, service was super attentive, and upon ordering, our food came out so quickly! The shrimp was cooked perfectly in my shrimp and grits and was not too salty. If I'm being picky... I wish the cheddar came through more in the grits because the sauce overpowered the delicate flavor of the grits, although hella tasty. The eberly breakfast was standard. The whole grain biscuit was a surprise. It had a lot of flavor and paired nicely with jam. Normally, I expect a golden brown, crispy outside with a flaky melt-in-your-mouth center, but this was not as delicate but really flavorful. Despite the heavy biscuit, fried potato, and bacon, the pops of acidity from the cherry tomatoes added some freshness. As we were leaving, I saw so many people order the Tavern Burger, which you can see all over Yelp. I can't wait to go back and try it because it looked so good. Maybe I can split the banana foster French toast as a dessert with my friend. Also! If you run cold, despite the 107 high today, I would have worn a cardi inside. i went on a date here and it was a pretty cool, upscale experience. the restaurant has a really pretty interior. i was told about the unique history of the bar in the restaurant, how the bar was imported to austin from new york after serving as a popular spot for various notable artists and historical figures, which was really cool. the staff was very friendly and accommodating. we got the tempura mushrooms as a starter, which were super distinctive from any other tempura mushrooms i've had in that these mushrooms were crunchy on the inside of the tempura and were fried with onions too. we also had the rigatoni which was super delicious and the pasta was perfectly al dente. the standout for me was definitely the spaghettini. the pasta itself had a complex flavor profile- lemony and tangy but also super cheesy and creamy and buttery. the lobster was so tender and buttery and melt in your mouth. read more

This restaurant is gorgeous! I came here with a friend for drinks previously, and we knew we had to come back for brunch after seeing their greenhouse-looking seating area. They only have long tables (6-8 seats) in the greenhouse section, but the hostess was nice enough to seat the 2 of us at a long table anyway since they weren't too busy. I ordered: - Nitro Espresso Martini (5/5): Delicious and caffeinated, no complaints! I'm not sure if this drink had both espresso and cold brew, but unlike other cold brew martinis I didn't feel like this one had a watered down flavor at all. - Cherry Bearclaw (5/5): If you're considering getting a pastry with your brunch, this is perfect! This is a wonderfully flaky pastry with a sweet cherry filling and crispy sliced almonds on top. It arrived warm with fresh lime icing on top, which added the perfect note of citrus to cut through all the sweetness. - Avocado Toast (with poached egg + $3) (4/5): If you're a garlic girl, this is the dish for you! This toast tasted like the chef had rubbed garlic on the bread before toasting it, which added the perfect amount of savoriness to every bite. I loved how the chickpeas added a crispy element, and the herb salad on top added a much needed freshness. Generally, I prefer my avocados to be mashed and seasoned for my avocado toast, but with all the additional elements in this dish I didn't mind too much that they were just sliced. I do feel like if I hadn't added the poached egg, the dish may have been a little dry without the runny egg yolk, but I would still recommend this if you're looking for a lighter brunch dish! The food was good (a bit on the salty side this go-around) but I have yet to find a restaurant with a better ambience/layout. We had the privilege of meeting Tommy, who is one of the restaurant owners. He told us how they bought the bar in the back room from a famous NYC bar and rebuilt the original piece by piece. The restaurant itself was beautiful, but the food kind of fell flat. Everything we ordered minus the Japanese bread was relatively lackluster in flavor. For appetizers, we got the butternut squash and the tuna tartare. Both dishes are decent, but I am not necessarily going out of my way to get them again. For an entrée, I ordered the halibut. Waitstaff were friendly, attentive, and professional. Those aspects were genuinely quite nice. But... This is one of Austin's many "Instagram restaurants". It looks fantastic so it's easy to hype up. But the food is honestly horrible, which is made all the more preposterous by the fact that it's not at all cheap. Nearly flavorless Caesar salad (how do you make Caesar salad bland?). Pork chop that was over cooked and over salted. Seriously, is there any meat easier to cook than a pork chop!? Balsamic vinaigrette Brussels sprouts that are a bit burnt tasting. Look I understand. I've tried to make that dish myself and it came out the same way but like I don't have any special cooking skills, so I don't charge people a bunch of money to eat my failed culinary efforts. read more

We had a great experience here. It was an anniversary weekend for us and we went to the Eberly to celebrate. They gave us a nice card when we got there. Very kind. Started with the Cold Fashioned which was very nicely made, though I have never had one of these, I enjoyed the flavors and tastes. I will definitely try it again. I went for the spicy chicken sandwich which was broiled not fried, I loved the flavors and the coleslaw and tangy spicy sauce. It comes with tons of fries. Also tried the Avacado toast which was nice. Our strawberry coffee cake came out last (not bad, just were expecting it earlier). It was very nice, lots of flavors and textures. Our server seemed to want us to leave though as she kept asking us if we wanted to wrap up the cake , if we wanted anything else or the bill. We were only there for 45 min total. That was strange.
