Sadly we had an extremely poor experience with the business owner, Rob. I have never had to write a bad review for a business before however I feel this is necessary in order to warn others who may be potential customers. We were very excited to rent these bikes for a family outing in November. When we showed up at ebike Marfa the day of our reservation to get our bikes there was a sign on the door that said "Closed Today". We were confused because we had been able to place the bike rental order online but as it was a holiday weekend we thought it was a misunderstanding and figured it would be refunded the next day. However, the next day when we called to explain what had happened Rob was immediately rude to my husband and assumed we had just never showed up. He was distasteful to the point of humiliation and name-calling which I find highly surprising for a small business owner and certainly unprofessional. To give him the benefit of the doubt I also called Rob and had a conversation during which he finally agreed to provide a refund when it was possible noting this as a mutual misunderstanding. After 2 months of waiting for the refund when I called Rob again to inquire he said "let me check on that,,," and then hung up on me mid-conversation. I hope for the sake of a learning experience for the owner regarding respectful treatment of others let alone customers and for preventing future customers from undergoing similar deprecating treatment that this review is useful. read more

It's safe to say that renting an E-Bike from here was the absolute highlight of my trip. Riding the bike itself was amazing, but Rob, the owner made the whole experience a memorable one. We asked Rob for recommendations on where to ride the bikes and he suggested an empty road that stretched out for about 30 miles with views of the valley in the background. After riding bikes until night time, Rob drove back to the road just to make sure we were okay and got back safely. I highly highly recommend this shop to anyone and everyone!!! Not to mention, the bikes were extremely easy to use and so much better than a regular bike! I can't believe I've never E-biked before! So many times I've rode by those fat tire bikes thinking- "what's the difference?" OMG! A LOT! Not only was it fun but we were exercising! We managed to cover the perimeter of town and even went a few miles down Pinto Canyon Road. My mother and I laughed and giggled the whole time at how goofy we felt but we had an exhilarating fun time going 20 miles an hour down the road. In fact, I had so much fun I came back two days later to go again. Mr Crowley was so helpful at helping us and provided exceptional service. I would highly recommend this fun activity if you're visiting Marfa. It's a great Covid friendly activity and Mr. Crowley went above and beyond to sanitize each bike after use. Biking around Marfa was pure magic--and an Ebike was definitely the way to do it! Having the motor assist came in handy when I was pressed for time between tours during the day. My only regret is that I didn't rent a bike sooner. This is thee best way to explore Marfa. The two hours flew right by. If you have any problems, call them right away and it will be taken care of immediately. I got a flat (those dang goat head thorns!) and the gentlemen brought me a new bike in minutes. Helpful hints: wear copious amounts of sunscreen and stop for a drink here and there. It's the high desert after all. This will be a regular thing I do anytime I'm in town. read more

I cannot recommend this experience more. Ebikes are the best way to see Marfa. Even when it's scorching hot! Rob is helpful, responsive and full of all the information you might need to see the town. Pulled up on Ebike Marfa to a sign that said closed. A quick phone call and Rob appeared, set us up with 2 Rad Rover Electric Fat Tire Bikes (Gen 5) and even took my mountain bike in for repair. Hell of a dude, this Rob. Local + super knowledgeable and friendly. We attached the E - Bikes to my bike rack and drove 30 minutes to Ft. Davis to bike the epic 118 climb from town to the McDonald's Observatory. First time on these bikes and they are a blast. They slayed the big hills to McDonald's Observatory with ease. To wit, Strava said 26 miles + 2,700 ft/gain in less than 2 hours. My followers were in disbelief. And we only used 1 of the 5 bars of juice on the battery, to boot! The bikes are everything you would want - stable, smooth, comfortable and powerful. I think they just won 2021 E-Bike of the year. So if you are in the area with riders of different experience/abilities/fitness, I highly a recommend riding with E-Bike Marfa. You can take a local paved (very lightly trafficked) road from his shop, ride off toad with Rob in Big Bend SP or do what we did and take these for a 1/2 day excursion in any direction. Dirt or road, doesn't seem to matter.
