It seems that the buses cannot park right by the hotel. If you wanted to walk into town, you had to go back out and walk another 10 minutes, and it was a bit confusing as to which way was town center. We gave up after going into several streets and decided it wasn't worth it at that hour. We had a buffet dinner tonight at the hotel and the food was decent. Hotel had popcorn near Reception area. No water heater for coffee/tea, no body lotion, I'm almost 6' tall and had to stretch to reach the hangers in the hallway closet! Room was spacious. Nice views from room Staff was courteous and accommodating.

The on-site restaurant is Michelin level cuisine. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. Even when Evora is suffering a heat wave, this is a comfortable place to be. You can soak in a pool and order food and cocktails (as well as the obligatory local wines) poolside. It is a 10 min walk to the Roman temple and other sites.

There, Miguel walked us through the city's highlights and made a dinner reservation for us. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful view outside. The complimentary breakfast was incredible! A mix of cold and made to order options that were all superb. I enjoyed local produce, including figs, pumpkin jam, bee pollen, yogurt, eggs, and bacon. The omelette was delicious, as were the pastries. Later in the day, we enjoyed a lovely lunch while sitting at their outdoor patio area. Such a perfect little place in a charming city! Gorgeous property and suits but the restaurant was fenomenal. On the first evening we had a tasting menu paired with the wines from a local winery. On the second night we ordered a la carte. I think the tasting menu is the way to go but the pork pate with langoustine and the duck were incredible. I never had such juicy and tasty duck before. We were truly blown away. No wonder the chef told us they had just been (re-)awarded a Michelin star two nights before. In my opinion it deserve another star. The red wine from the L'AND winery was also superb. With respect to the room, I'm usually not crazy about cottages as they tend to be enclosed by the walls and therefore feel darker, but here the rooms are facing the pool/lake and it was not an issue. I liked the modern decor of the interior and furniture. This place is a total package. Also convenient as a base to explore Alentejo. We drove to Evora, Elvas and all the way to Badajoz. Oh and don't forget to visit the castle ruins in Montemor - the view from there is outstanding. It's well worth a visit even only to the restaurant.

Rooms are variable but ours was in the former library and featured an anteroom that was beautifully painted (see photo). Staff is helpful and friendly: one of the staff actually offered to move our car to a more secure location. Did not view or use pool. Town is very walkable and full of shops offering the usual panalopy of trinkets. Dinner was served well, prepared well, and savory. Breakfast had many hot and cold options. Highly recommended.

As for ours, it was small and there was very little room to walk around the bed or places to sit your suitcases. The bed was very low to the ground and hard. Highlight was their breakfast buffet. It was huge, delicious and was held in the courtyard. Disappointing was the dinner. Food was boring. Nothing exciting on the menu. Staff was welcoming.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. There is a lovely view from the rooftop pool area of the walled city. Parking on site was easy to find and convenient. The buffet breakfast was very good and there was a good selection of food. My husband had left his electric adapters at home and the hotel lent us a set and then directed us to a nearby store where my husband was able to make a purchase. The staff were all very helpful and attentive to our needs.
