I don't typically write reviews, but I felt this experience was important to share. I hired Thayne…read moreto pour concrete for a back patio, including a stone retaining wall and an epoxy coating on top. While Thayne was initially nice when we first met, my overall experience was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend hiring him for construction work. I began the project with him in April 2025, and it has yet to be fully completed (May 2026). Throughout the process, I had to initiate contact at every stage, repeatedly asking when he would return to move the project forward or fix issues. After the concrete was poured, there was a large hole at the bottom of the slab (see attached photo). When I brought this to Thayne's attention, he told me that this "just happens with concrete" and said he would build up the dirt and seed the area in winter 2025 to "hide it." I wasn't satisfied with that explanation or solution, but I went along with it. However, the dirt and seeding have still not been done (May 2026). The epoxy coating was then applied, but the work was terrible (photo attached). I ultimately had to hire another contractor to completely redo the epoxy due to the quality of Thayne's work. Additionally, over a period of more than four months, Thayne repeatedly told me he would return to remove large leftover bags of hardened cement, return unused decorative stone that I had purchased, and seed the grass before winter. Between the end of September 2025 and May 2026, I contacted him more than eight times to follow up. Each time, he had a different excuse. For a period of about a month and a half, he did not respond to my texts or calls, and none of that work was completed during that time. He eventually returned the stone and removed the cement at the end of March 2026, but my yard still has not been filled with dirt or seeded. I asked for a partial refund for this unfinished portion of the job, but he has ignored my request and has not responded. I was very disappointed by Thayne's lack of follow-through, professionalism, and the quality of the work he completed. Based on my experience, he is not someone I would recommend hiring for construction work.
